The fog is so thick and the visibility is so low, Wyatt couldn't see more than five feet ahead of him. He's driving into smoke highlighted by beams of white headlights. A mere 15 mph is too fast for this weather. He knows these roads like the back of his hands but in the fog, they are unforgiving, treacherous, and unfriendly.

Wyatt glances at the redhead sitting in the passenger seat. He couldn't help but smile. Josslyn's the quintessential redhead: big green eyes, creamy white skin, sprinkles of freckles, and pink luscious lips. Okay. Fine. Toss a little crazy in and it gets complicated but he's intrigued, and he's often too bored to be intrigued. He glances down toward her legs. She's wearing neon yellow tennis shoes, blue jeans, a purple shirt quoted 'fearless' and a gray sweater. She's a mash of colors rolled into crazy. He scoffs. The things a guy has to do to get a girl. I'm a sucker.

"Can I open my window?" She asks.

He hesitates. He really doesn't want to welcome the outside in. "If you must."

"Thank you." She gives him a tight lipped smile, rolls down her window and listens for Edwin. The chilly wind howls and whips her long hair in a frenzy as dense fog begins to seep into the car.

"Maybe you should roll up your window, Josslyn. I need to see to dri -"

A bone-chilling scream erupts from deep inside the forest. Wyatt immediately feels the hair on the back of his neck stand up.What the hell is that? His heart races, his chest rises fast and he's on high alert.

"Did you hear that?" he asks Josslyn.

"Yes! Stop the car!"

"Are you crazy? We're not stoppi -"

"Stop the car! It's him!"

Wyatt gasps. She can't be serious! He instantly regrets his decision to have brought her here. Hell, It could be him being dumped over the cliff! Josslyn opens her door, forcing Wyatt to stop the car. She runs off into the thick fog with nothing but a flashlight.

"Josslyn!" Wyatt curses, this woman is crazy! She'll be lost in these mountains forever!

He grits his teeth in anger. What the hell did I get myself into? Opening his trunk, he grabs his badge, his pistol, a flashlight, and runs after Josslyn. She's vanished into the fog so he perks up his senses to track any sign of her. Then he hears it again, the sound of an angry man yelling from the pit of his stomach. It's a bone chilling sound augmented by the creepy darkness of fog hazing in the soft glow of the full moon. Turning to his left, he creeps toward the noise. His hands are shaking uncontrollably so he points the barrel of his gun toward the ground to avoid misfiring.

"Edwin!" He hears Josslyn's voice and bolts toward her direction.

"Josslyn!" Wyatt yells after her.

Josslyn immediately turns toward the sound of her name. Wyatt is chasing after me? She had intended for him to wait by the car - that's if he hasn't already abandoned her. She turns the opposite direction. Should I run toward Edwin or Wyatt?

She runs toward the sound of Edwin's voice. "Edwin!"

"Josslyn!" Wyatt closes in.

Huffing loudly and panting with exhaustion, Josslyn hears the sound of thunderous waterfall. Straining her eyes forward, she realizes that she is racing toward a precipice. She tries to slow down but instead, slips in the the sloshy mud and began sliding down a slope toward the cliff. A vice grip snatches her wrist, pulling her back toward the safety of solid platform. Panting wildly, she feels a tight embrace and she sighs in relief. These arms, shoulders, this chest - Edwin saves her every time.

Edwin quickly grips onto her shoulder and shakes her into her senses, "I told you never to come find me at night! You could have died, you daring woman!"

Josslyn yells with frustration, "it's because of you I'm out here! Why didn't you come home?" She punches his chest. "I've searched high and low for you. I've climbed up and down these mountains every morning looking for you! If you were going to leave me, you'd at least have the decency to say goodbye! I'll always come looking for you!"

Edwin's face softens. He never intended to be gone this long. When he saw that man comforting her outside the restaurant pavilion last week, he began taking physical form without mist or fog to bond him. He didn't even know he was capable of that. Slightly intrigued and more so afraid that he'd drawn too much attention to himself, he took to the mountains. He practiced manifesting without fog or mist but he hasn't been able to replicate the same sensation in order to manifest into solid form. He tried to come home but he didn't have the strength to. Josslyn is his life source so without her immediate presence, he'll slowly die. He'll wither into nothing, not even invisible. She is like the food to his soul, the battery to re-energize and revitalize his existence.

He feels his strength returning and he locks her in his embrace, sinking her deeper into his ocean. He wants to keep her forever despite the challenges they have to endure and if action speaks louder than words, then tonight confirms that she too wants to keep him.

"I'm sorry, Josslyn." Edwin rubs his chin against her temple. "I tried to come home. It's so lonely out here and I was so afraid I'd never see you again." It must have been fate for her to somehow find him in this heavy fog. He smiles. She exists to save him.

"I love you, Josslyn."

She buries her face in his chest, breathing his earthy scent into her lungs as she too confesses her love.

The wind picks up, shifting the fog further from the forest. Edwin's physical presence begins to slowly dissipate. The moon illuminating high in the sky began to appear through his face as he begins to slowly vanish away. Trailing her fingers down his cheek, she savors one last kiss.

He smiles. "I'll see you on the other side, honey."

And he's gone. He's here, but he's gone.

With her chin against her chest, Josslyn sighs in despair. She's tried to deny the truth so many times, but it's easy to see: being in love with an invisible man will never be easy and she knows she'll have to face the world alone despite having a husband. She wipes her tears and turns back toward the depth of the forest to---Wyatt!

Wyatt stands a few meters from her with his mouth hanging agape. He didn't see much, only a shape that somehow dissipated into air and Josslyn clasping onto nothing but empty atmosphere. Wyatt panics in fear as Josslyn nervously saunters toward him.

Edwin recognizes the familiar face standing in front of him. It's the man comforting Josslyn outside the restaurant. "Why the hell is he here?" Edwin takes a 'ready to kill you if you hurt my wife' stance when he notices the gun in Wyatt's hand.

"Stop it, Edwin." Josslyn whispers forcefully. "It's Wyatt. He's kind enough to have driven me here."

"You got into a car with another man?" Edwin scolds her. "What else have you been doing since I've been gone?"

Josslyn clenches her fist and waves a finger at him, or more correctly - where she thinks he is. "Don't start with me, Edwin!" She's been through enough let alone deal with accusations of infidelity. Josslyn turns toward Wyatt and scratches her head. How am I going to explain all this?

Wyatt staggers backwards. "What is wrong with you? Who were you talking to?" My god, this woman is crazy! I don't care how beautiful she is! Cancel!

Josslyn shrugs sheepishly. "Wyatt...I know all this seems crazy -"

"Crazy? No, no. Crazy doesn't even do justice! You're - you're mad!"

"Tell him to watch his mouth!" Edwin tells Josslyn. Nobody talks to his wife like that.

Josslyn gulps, trying to avoid physical altercation here..."Wyatt, please, calm down. I'll explain everything."

"No, no, no." Wyatt stammers, waving both hands to reinforce his denial. "F-forget I asked. I don't think I even want to know. I-I don't want any part of this crazy mess you've got going on here. I don't care if it's all in your imagination or if it's -" He scoffs in disbelief. "If it's real. I-I don't want any part of this."

He looks up at Josslyn while she stands underneath a brilliant full moon. Her wavy long hair gleams like a red silk shawl capering in the wind, the way those green eyes shimmer would render even the most pure emerald dull, one look at her lips would end any man's celibacy. With skin so rosy white and hair so red, she is like flaming snow - an unbelievable visual display blazing in Wyatt's mind.

Wow, thought Wyatt. What a beautiful messed up woman.

Josslyn wraps herself with both arms and for the first time tonight, she feels deep remorse to have dragged this innocent man out into the mountains and risked both of their lives.

"Wyatt, thank you." She brims with tears. "Thank you for helping me." Find my invisible husband, Edwin but she didn't say that last part. Heck, the guy's already frightened to death. "I'm sorry I risked your life. You didn't have to come after me but you did."I guess you would die for me after all. But she didn't say that part. Edwin would explode with jealousy. "I understand if you don't want to bring me back home. I've caused you enough trouble."

"Damn right you have." Wyatt positions his gun back into the harness. "But I'm a better man than that. I brought you here, I'm responsible enough to bring you back." He eyes her up and down, "no matter how mad you are."

He turns around and begins trekking his way back toward the car. The fog has completely lifted so he navigates every nook and cranny with the moon's vibrant light. Looking back, he sees Josslyn trail close behind, her head hung low in shame. He resists the urge to comfort her. She may have a few screws missing, but she still has feelings. He's frightened and confused beyond comprehension but he still has compassion.

They safely make it back to his car. Wyatt crawls in and the clock on the dashboard ticks to 2:46am. He hears her opening the backseat door and a heavy weight plops down in the back. Turning around, he thinks she had crawled in. No, she's still standing outside the car. Okay, thought Wyatt, I am going to pretend that did not happen.

Josslyn crawls in after Edwin. She looks up at Wyatt and shuts the door. "It's more comfortable back here," she lies and Wyatt shakes his head in disbelief. He heaves a sigh of annoyance and buckles his seatbelt, then starts the ignition, and makes a U-turn back down the mountain. Glancing at her through the rearview mirror, he revisits the stupidity of her actions and clenches the steering wheel. "You should never run into the fog at night again, Josslyn. It's dangerous. You could have died, you daring woman."
