The formalities were done and now the guests were enjoying themselves by eating and chatting, Feng Jiu sat on her throne for almost five minutes till she couldn’t keep it anymore and decided to join her friends, Cheng Yu and Siming were present as well. Cheng You was one of the least who never pushed her to share her stories or asked her to act against her wishes, the both of them knew no one is perfect, you don’t make others as you wish, you accept them as they are if you really love them and care for them. Feng Jiu really appreciated her friend’s acknowledgement and wisdom, she was one of the best things ever happened in her life.

heng Yu smiled at her and bowed teasingly, Feng Jiu gave her a half smile and shook her head: your grace flattered us by coming in person. Let me put a silk cover under your excellency’s feet.
Feng Jiu looked at her. Maybe she ended her teasing but Cheng Yu was just starting and was enjoying herself very much: or maybe your highness prefers to sit? Let these humble people be your highness seat, it’s a great honor for your non-crowned friends.
She was getting to the point, all her teasing was for the crown and now she was near. Not getting back any response she huffed: oh come on Feng Jiu. Give us that crown of yours to take a good look at it.
Feng Jiu: if you want a throne you have my permission to seat on that one there but don’t come near my crown.
She could see Dong Hua’s smile in her head, she knew he was listening to them with Lian Song.
“You little fox, come and have a wine with us at least.” Cheng You told after several disapproving looks.
“I need to do something first, wait for me or come with me as you prefer” Feng Jiu answered and walked to where Dijun was and Cheng Yu decided to join her.
“greeting Dijun, please let me show my graduate toward your majesty by offering a cup of wine” Feng Jiu told as she bowed to Dong Hua who looked at her and nodded back, “your highness, please join me then” he said and eyed the seat beside himself signaling her.
She smiled and sat where he offered, she conjured a bottle of wine and filled one glass for Dong Hua, he asked for the bottle and filled the other for her before taking his own, they smiled politely and drank their wines, ignoring two people beside themselves and several eyes watching them.
“it was an honor for me and our kingdom to have Dijun here with us today” Feng Jiu said while filling another glass.
Dong Hua got her point; she didn’t expect him to be present. “your highness always had my best admiration, I’m sure Ching Chu will be benefit with you as it’s crown princess”
He meant he always was different for her, Feng Jiu got his point as well, they both learned how to read between the lines. “and I always appreciate that” Feng Jiu answered.
“It was good to be here today, I hope I can be a part of it when you take the crown of the queen” he meant he wanted to be a part of her life as much as he can.
“it’s a great honor and happy thought, but we can’t guarantee anything, as dijun knows” she wanted him too but she is scared.
“You are absolutely right, but as immortal we have a lot of time, if not today but maybe tomorrow, if not at your coronation day maybe days after that” he will give her the time she needs and will wait for her to be as involved as she wants.
Feng Jiu only smiled and confirmed by bending her head, she was thankful of him.
“how your plans for learning gu went out?” Dong Hua asked again.
“not that good, I’m afraid” she pouted confessing this.
“you can come to my place if you want and we can see how your ability is” he offered, he wanted to know her planes, the game was a bate, Feng Jiu get his point and rolled her eyes at him: “maybe one day I come and bother Dijun” she didn’t want him to know. Dong Hua smiled at her troubled face and told: “just remember the doors of Taichen palace are always open for you and no one stop you there” he is supporting her completely and she can be as she want with him, she heard it loud and clear and smiled thankfully but before she can answer her cousin interrupt them: “greeting Dong Hua Dijun and your highness, I’m sorry to bother you but cousin I think you should come, grandfather is drunk again and he is talking.”
“it’s not a new event, everyone is used to it already, let him be as he wants” Feng Jiu told, not getting the urgency of her cousin.
“but he is talking about you two, I really think you should come” Cui Fen insisted, getting impatient.
Feng Jiu and Dong Hua shared a look and both stood up to accompany the fox princess, they found the old fox really drunk and talking in the middle of a group of guests: my own granddaughter chose him over me.
Feng Jiu gave a puzzled look to Dong Hua before walking inside the cycle to get to her grandfather as guests made her way and bowed respectfully, Dong Hua followed her and stood right beside her.
“oh, little Jiu you are here. I just was saying you choose Dijun over me, I gave you a throne and you went to him to talk”
“I gave her a crown to be fair.”
Feng Jiu heard Dong Hua’s calm voice and gazed at him to only find him very pleased at the scene with that half smile on his lips.
“grandfather Dijun is our guest. Surely I should go to him first, don’t you think?” Feng Jiu tried to reason with her drunk old fox.
“nonsense, you could not go to him at all, he won’t take it to heart, he doesn’t have one you know” Feng Jiu gave an apologise look to Dong Hua at her grandfather’s words.
“come on old fox, you are offending our guest of honor” Zhe Yan said half laughing half sorry.
“old phoenix you are not a help either, tell her, I gave her my throne and she went to him, why?”
“grandfather, you made it much easier yourself, no one wants a throne, you know”
Feng Jiu told and watched his face trying to make sense of her words. He took her hand and looked in her eyes: “you are right my dear but you talked to him today much more than you talk to this old grandfather since you came back” Dong Hua never thought one day he would be in the middle of this events, between Feng Jiu and her grandfather, the fox king and his crown princess because of Bai Zhe’s jealousy toward himself, more than that he never imagined he would like it and even tease the old fox but suddenly he found himself beside Feng Jiu smiling and telling: “can you blame her?” and in his surprise the fox king looked at his face and answered: “no, you are too handsome, sure she would peek you” Feng Jiu turned her face of her grandfather to Dong Hua several times and tried her best to keep her laugh, she heard Zhe Yan, Lian Song, Cheng Yu, her aunt and forth uncle laughing which gave the others the permission to laugh too.
“old fox I think it’s enough let me take you back” Feng Jiu’s grandmother said and tried to take her husband before he starts to confess his feelings toward former emperor but before she manages that Cui Fen said: “grandfather run for your life, otherwise grandmother will beat you for calling Dijun handsome”
Bai Zhe looked at his wife then his granddaughter and his blurry head confirmed what his granddaughter said, in every one’s disbelief fox king turned to his fox form and ran away, before others can react fox empress called him in anger and laugh and turning to a charming nine tailed white fox ran after her husband.
Feng Jiu turned to her cousin to thanked her for trouble but found her shaking her head to her angry mother and turning to her fox form ran as well, Feng Jiu looked at her aunt and found her gritting  her teeths before running after her daughter as another nine tails white fox and after them Ye Hua, but thankfully in his human form, he could sense a lot of eyes staring at beauty of his wife and daughter and wasn’t grateful at all.
“old phoenix what you say we join the party too?” Feng Jiu heard her forth uncle and watched him turning to a white fox too, he had a light blue aura around himself and ran encouraging Zhe Yan to catch him. “Dong Hua you only said one sentences and look at what happened” Zhe Yan said before running for his fox.
Feng Jiu brought back her eyes at Dong Hua right beside herself, she couldn’t make any sense in anything that just happened, she wasn’t alone, no one can get it, but thanks to what it was the guest saw the beauty of three generations of the fox royal family.
“I think you want to laugh, don’t you little fox?” Dong Hua whispered for Feng Jiu and heard her back: “very much so” taking her hand he disappeared with her and the second they appeared inside Taichen palace secure of eyes she fell in loud laughs, she laughed so hard that fell on his chest and he took her securely between his arms watching her face, he missed this side of her, carefree and happy, he stroking her back and smiled at her until she finally could stand again and taking a step back put some distance between the two of them, Dong Hua get her motive and smiled bitterly, “what do you think about us join the party as well little fox?” He asked in a low and deep voice and looked in her dreamy eyes before nodding her head. She turned to her fox form and ran for him to catch her. 
Dong Hua smiled and walked calmly as always which make her impatient, she ran then came back, turned around him for several times then again ran away, waited for him a little and jumped for him to catch her, licked his earlobe and jumped out of his arms to ran away, again and again and again. She repeated the pattern several times until gave up and sat away from him looking at him in anger as he still was walking calmly. She watched as he came closer by every step he took and smiled when finally he was in front of her.
Dong Hua smiled at her little figure in her fox form and knelt down to her, he gathered her in his arms and started to walk in his unhurried regular speed, and that was when she finally got it.
Between the two of them always was this way, he was in his way to her but she never gave him the time he needed, she get impatient and came back to him to have him sooner, he always kept her when she jumped for him but always let her go when she wanted too, but he never stop walking to her, and when she finally get tired and stopped playing, when she finally waited for him and gave him the time he needed he reached her, and it took more time because she keep running of him and to him, but If she stayed where she was he would get to her sooner when she wasn’t still this tired, she finally get it, he never stopped walking to her.
“you indeed are an impatient little fox Feng Jiu” Dong Hua confirmed her turn of thoughts with his whisper.
