It was rare that he ever felt intense emotions these days.

Well, besides the times when he's with you of course, because even now his feelings for you still burn as bright as they did before.

But there were moments where he's able to taste even a little bit of the adrenaline that came with fighting a strong opponent when he had only just started his training.

Obviously, the battle he was currently in wouldn't be the kind where the fire of battle inside of him would be lit so he didn't take it seriously and even went as far as focusing on getting the dirt off of his costume first, leaving his opponent standing there and patiently waiting.

Rather than hurry things up though, Saitama took his sweet time and the lion didn't seem to like that, because the next thing he knew, it was already preparing to attack and while it may not have bothered him if it was directed at him...it wasn't.

No, the attack was headed straight your way and it was at that single moment that Genos who had been otherwise preoccupied with his own opponent saw just how terrifying Saitama could be when he used his immense power with the intent to kill.

The hero's vision practically turned red at the sight of the attack aimed at you, gloved hands balling into fists as he made his way in front of you and the lion monster with a burst of speed.

He may not take any of his battles and opponents seriously because of how he's so used to winning all the time with just a single punch, but there was one surefire way to make him take you seriously if you really did want him to use his full power with the intent to defeat you.

Try to hurt his wife and you surely won't even be able to see the light of day ever again.

It wasn't excitement or adrenaline pumping into his veins, but burning hot rage that some even dared to hurt you.

Beast King only had a second to realize the mistake he did for going after you instead as the massive killing intent radiating off of the bald hero engulfed him in waves, but it was too late.

There was nothing left off him besides the blood staining the pavement and a few scraps of his clothing.

As you ran up to Saitama and embraced him which he returned, the hero couldn't help but feel all the white hot anger melting away as he held you in his arms, but with it came a small sense of guilt.

While you may have thought him to be completely selfless and always willing to do what is right, he knew deep inside himself that he wasn't that kind of person.

The evidence was right there in the minuscule remains of his opponent.

He had absolutely no remorse for anyone who would lay a finger on you and if you so much as asked him to turn his back on the world for you....he knew he would.

Because he was only human who may have achieved the strength of gods, but still a human through and through.

A human that was selfish and would do his utmost best so that you, the only color in his otherwise mundane and monochromatic world, was safe.
