Ok this could be a very long list to cover. Of course it will be British ones. And it will be really Helpful for you. And you maybe wanting this bit.

CQC- Care and quality commission- People who check and rate the living space people have. From Nursing homes, Supported Living accommodations, Residential schools, to homeless accommodations. 

Autism Act(2009)- A law surrounding Autism. To make sure we get the right help.

Equality Act- A law in the UK to make sure we are all treated equal. Free from Ableism, Sexism, Racism ect.

ADA- Americans with Disabilities Act (1990?)- (Saw the documentary on Netflix Crip camp) A American law to protect people with Disabilities.

Special needs- A way to say they have Learning disabilities. Like special needs school, Special needs college, A holiday break for people with special needs. 

Tic- normally associated with Tourette's. This to do with impulsive movements that is very hard to control.

Stimming- A way to release a bit of  of energy (we can have a lot). Also helps with dealing with emotions.

Makaton- A program  that helps with communication with signs and symbols. The British version is based on British Sign Language. It is used for babies to people with communication needs. Autistic people are likely to use. This could help babies communicate what they want. Also they talk when signing. 

British Sign Language also known as BSL- A sign language for people who are Deaf. They do not use symbols. And do not speak.

American sign language also known as ASL- same as BSL but over in America

Metal Capacity  Act (2005)- to check if people understand what's is happening.  For an example do they understand buying a house or knowing what a relationship is to understanding this guide. 

Person centre support- When supporting just the person and centring around them. Mostly used by authorities. 

active support- encouraging people to do it to the best of their abilities. Again mostly used by authorities. 

hyper focused- when you focus soo much on one thing. Like binging that boxset series to reading a book at one go. But this is more of a struggle day to day.
