HER WHOLE CONCENTRATION WAS directed towards the purple notebook she was carrying, trying her best not to write wobbly as she made her way to school. She'd reached an idea that she was really excited to write, so she had to note down all the bullet points so it's easier to write the actual scene later.
And then he goes and kicks him and then-
''Good morning, pretty.''
Y/n almost jumped at the sudden words, her train of thoughts coming short. Looking up from her notebook she was met with a grinning Baji and a very tired looking Chifuyu behind him. What caught her attention, though, was the red rose he was twirling between his fingers.
''. . . Good morning?'' Y/n said as she gestured to the flower. ''What's that for?''
''For you, of course, L/n,'' Baji said as he handed her the flower. She took it, feeling her ears and cheeks warm up. ''A pretty flower for a pretty girl.''
''This was very unnecessary, Keisuke,'' Y/n said as she took the flower and twirled it around her own fingers. ''And you do know you can call me Y/n, right?''
Baji grinned at her words. ''Alright then, Y/n.''
She coughed, trying to mask her flustered expression. ''No need to say it like that.''
Chifuyu, having witnessed the whole scene, rolled his eyes at how uncharasterically sweet his friend was being. He turned around and started heading inside the school, speaking over his shoulder. ''Get a room, you two.''
''Oi, shut it, Chifuyu!''

Baji had a slight hop in his step as he made his way towards Y/n's classroom at lunch. Chifuyu couldn't help but chuckle at his friend's cheery mood. As much as he did and will tease him, Chifuyu was genuenly happy for his friend.
He just hoped they won't kiss in front of him.
It was normal for Y/n to be in the classroom writing. It was also not unusual to find her in the classroom reading something. What was unusual, however, was Y/n not being in the classroom at all. Baji cocked an eyebrow at the empty room, looking around as if she was going to pop out of nowhere.
''She's not here?'' Chifuyu voiced the obvious, just as confused as Baji was. This was probably the first time they've seen the classroom so empty.
''Are you looking for L/n?'' Baji and Chifuyu turned around at the question, seeing a guy standing there, a guy he recognized to be one of your classmates.
''Yeah. Have ya seen her?'' Baji asked as he backed out of the classroom to face him properly.
''She left earlier, heard her mutter something about forgetting her lunch at home.''
Y/n went to the cafeteria?
It felt very weird sitting at a table in the cafeteria for the first time in a while. Though, Y/n supposed this was the curse of forgetting her lunch at home. It wasn't that bad, though - no one was approaching her and the food wasn't that bad either. She could survive here for twenty minutes.
''There you are!"
The one person she didn't necessarily mind approaching her sat down next to her, putting his lunch box on the table. Chifuyu sat across from the two, already opening his lunch so he can eat - he was dying and Baji making him wait until they found Y/n had been killing him even more.
She put down the book she'd been reading - the one she'd bought when she went out with Baji a few days ago - and looked at him. ''Yeah, I forgot my lunch in the morning,'' Y/n said as she poked her food. ''I had too much on my mind.''
Baji raised his arm and - not so smoothly - wrapped it around Y/n's shoulders. She rolled his eyes at his action, but didn't push him away. She poked the salad with her fork and put it in her mouth.
''What were you reading?'' Chifuyu asked as he eyed the book that now laid closed. He didn't want to be completely cut out of the conversation, even if he was third-wheeling.
Picking up the book, showing him the cover and reading out the title. ''It's good so far, but it's not a manga. Don't know if you're into that.''
Chifuyu reached out. ''Can I see?''
Y/n handed him the book, not worried he would ruin it or anything. If anything, she would've been more worried about Baji wanting to touch it, but she was going to keep that thought to herself.
''Well, would you look at that?''
Baji, Chifuyu and Y/n all looked towards the sourse of the voice, the former two recognizing the boy and not only because he was their classmate. His nose still had bandages over it, though it has certainly been a while since Baji had broken his nose, so he was probably faking the injury by now.
Y/n, on the other hand, had no clue who the injured boy and the other two standing behind him were.
Cocking an eyebrow, Baji spoke. ''What?''
''Nothing,'' the guy spoke with confidence as if he'd just achieved something big. ''It's just funny how at the end I turned out to be right - you did want L/n all to yourself.''
Ah. So that's who he was.
Baji, being irritated by his mere presence, gripped Y/n's shoulder. ''Want me to break your nose again so you don't have to fake it anymore? I can add a bonus busted lip this time if you want.''
Y/n grabbed his school jacket as he tried to stand up, pulling him back down. ''Keisuke, you don't want another suspension, do you? Your mom will be pissed!''
''But-''
''Keisuke!''
He huffed and sat back down. ''Fine.''
The guy and his friends laugh annoyingly as they walked away. Y/n rolled her eyes at how childish they were being. ''Good job on being the bigger person, Keisuke.''
''You know, Baji-san would've beat them up for real if you hadn't stepped up,'' Chifuyu said as he ate his food, having put Y/n's book away so he wouldn't get it dirty. ''Still, though, we can beat them up after school, can't we? Annoying pieces of shit.''
''You read my mind, Chifuyu!" Baji said and the two fist-pumped.
''Do whatever you want, just don't get suspended,'' Y/n said as she put more food in her mouth.
''Oh! By the way, wanna come over later? So I can beat your ass at Wii sports again.''
Y/n pointed her fork at him. ''You're on, Keisuke.'' Baji couldn't help but feel his heart leap every time she used his first name.
''We have a meeting later, Baji-san,'' Chifuyu reminded as it seemed the first division captain had forgotten.
''Wait! Fuck!'' He let out a disappointed sigh.
She nudged his side to lift his spirits. ''I can just come over and leave when your meeting starts.''
Baji's grin quickly returned and wrapped his other arm around Y/n as well. ''You're awesome, Y/n!''
Chifuyu, once again watching the scene unfold before him, slowly closed his lunch box. ''You know what, I don't feel like eating anymore.''

''Hit it! Keisuke!''
''Ah, Y/n, return! Return!''
''It's your ball!"
''No, it's yours!''
''Go before Matt kicks our asses!''
''Don't you think I'm trying?! IT'S YOU, GO!''
''ARGH!''
After school, Baji and Y/n had found their way to Baji's house, as planned. Currently, the two were in a fierce tennis battle, both of them playing on a team against Matt and another random Wii character. Both of them wanted to win the match, thus resulting in them yelling at each other to grab the ball.
Fun, wasn't it?
''Okay, one more point, Y/n!'' Baji said as he served the ball. Matt hit it back and Baji got ready to return it as well when suddenly the pause screen came into view. ''HAH? WHAT HAPPENED?''
When he turned around, he found Y/n crouched in front of the table, writing something down in her notebook. His arms dropped down. ''Y/n?''
''Sorry, sorry,'' she spoke, not looking away from her notebook and her hand continuing writing. ''I got a sudden idea and had to write it down.''
''Y/n,'' Baji whined as he dragged out her name, plopping down on the floor next to her. Craning his neck, he tried to take a peak of what she's writing. Y/n, sensing him, moved her arm to hide her writings, causing Baji to huff. ''C'mon, at least let me see what you stopped the game for!''
''No,'' Y/n said with no hesitation.
''Why not?''
''Because,'' she paused before she said her next words. ''You'll make fun of me.''
Baji cocked an eyebrow. ''Huh? Why would I make fun of you?''
Now that he mentioned it, Baji didn't seem like the type to laugh at someone's efforts, Y/n realized. A sigh escaped her lips as she put the last full stop at the note. ''Fine. Just . . . know it's not finished yet, okay? This is just random notes not put in order at all.''
Baji beamed as she handed him the notebook, carefully turning the pages until he reached the front. The two sat in silence as Baji's eyes trailed over the pages, whilst Y/n looked anywhere but him anxiously. What is he going to say? Is it boring? Is the idea dumb? Would he laugh despite what he said?
''This is . . .'' Y/n held her breath as she waited for him to finish his sentence. ''It sounds so interesting! Do you have more?''
''You really like it?'' Y/n asked, relief washing all over her. ''I have the actual plot in order started but it's in another notebook.''
''Oh, I see,'' Baji said as he closed the blue notebook and handed it back to her. ''You know, I prefer manga, but I'd read your book if you would let me.''
Y/n felt her heart leap at that. Was it weird? Maybe not. It was fine to be happy that your boyfriend is interested in your passion.
Boyfriend. God damn, Baji was her boyfriend.
''Well,'' Y/n said as she put her fingers on her chin. ''I do need someone to read chapters and review them, so . . .''
Baji beamed at her words. ''Well, you know my address, number and classroom. I'm free whenever I'm not beating bitches up or Ma isn't nagging me to do my chores.''
Y/n laughed at his explanation of his avaibility before she stood back up, dusting the sweatpants she'd borrowed from Baji so she could move freely while playing. ''I'll keep that in mind,'' she said as she picked up her controller and pointed it at Baji. ''Now, let's go kick Matt's ass.''
''You got it!''
