SUMMER WAS FINALLY THE time when she could simply sit down and concentrate on writing, and not feel bad about not doing her homework instead of enjoying her hobby. Today, she was planning to work on the main characters - appearance, traits, relationships; all the things that came along with them.

Or at least that was the plan until her phone rang.

''Hello?''

''Hey pretty, wanna go to the beach with the gang and me?''

She blinked twice before answering. ''Beach? The summer just started, Kei.''

''Exactly, that's why we should make the most of it!"

Sighing, Y/n leaned back in her chair and put her feet over her desk. ''If it's just you and other guys, then I'd rather stay home.''

''Nope, there's two more girls with us,'' Baji said. ''C'mon, you have no reason to say no.''

Technically, he was right. Not writing for a day won't completely disturb her schedule. Besides, she can just bring her notebook to the beach, right? ''Fine. When should I be ready?''

''Awesome! I'll be there in half an hour, okay?''

Baji ended the call and Y/n sighed, leaning her head back in her chair and eyeing her wardrobe. She was finally meeting Baji's friends that she's heard so much about. Damn, hope they aren't creeps.

Standing up from her chair, she picked up a bag she found discarded in the back of her closet and got to packing. As she picked up a beach towel, a gut feeling told her that Baji most likely did not remember to bring a towel with him. Might as well get one just in case.

''YAHOO!''

''Y'ALL CAN'T CATCH UP TO ME!''

''YOU'RE SO SLOW, MITSUYA!''

''FUCK YOU BAJI I'M FASTER!''

''AYE WAIT FOR ME, BITCHES!"

Y/n couldn't help but snort at all their calls as the boys raced on their way to the beach. She sat behind Baji, clinging tightly to his waist. He was driving so quick she thought she was going to fall out, thus clinging even tighter.

Due to the speeding, it took less time to arrive at the beach than Y/n initially thought. Getting down from the bike, she put her sunglasses on top of her head and watched Baji as he parked his motorbike.

What interested her, however, was that Baji didn't have any bags with him.

''Kei . . . did you bring anything for the beach?'' Y/n asked as he finally turned around to face her.

Baji gave her a grin and pointed towards his shorts. ''My trunks, 'course!''

Y/n almost wanted to face palm. ''No towel, no sunscreen, nothing?''

He shook his head. ''Nope, don't need them.''

''. . . You're an idiot.''

''But I'm your idiot.''

Y/n was not exactly sure if she wanted to slap or kiss his cheek at that moment.

''Good thing I brought a second towel,'' she mumbled under her breath. Baji chuckled and laced their hands together, pulling her to where the group had started heading towards the beach.

After setting up the two towels, Baji was the first one to strip out from his T-Shirt, discarding it in Y/n's bag so it doesn't get dirty. Y/n, on the other hand, had halted removing her own shirt at the sight of Baji, gulping slightly before mentally scolding herself. Don't be a creep, Y/n!

''So, you must be Y/n.'' She turned around to come face to face with a purple haired boy, his eyebrows each having a slit in the middle.

She chuckled awkwardly. ''Yeah, that would be me. And . . . you are?''

''Name's Mitsuya,'' he introduced himself. ''You know, Baji here talks so much about you, he never shuts up.''

''Oi, Mitsuya, you should shut up instead!'' Baji called him out when he overheard his name being mentioned in the conversation.

Mitsuya couldn't help but laugh. ''You know, he also said-''

''Yo, Baji, let's go play chicken fight!'' Draken called as he was headed towards the water, Mikey, Takemichi and Chifuyu already jumping in the water. Baji wasn't sure what Mitsuya was going to say, but he was glad he didn't get to finish.

''Yeah, coming!'' Baji said before looking back at Y/n. ''You wanna come as well?''

Y/n shook her head as she took a seat down on her beach towel. ''No, I'll come later. You go ahead.'' Baji shrugged, deciding he'd drag her to the water later, and rushed to get in the water as well.

Now the only ones still on the sand were Y/n, the other two girls and one of the boys - Pah-chin, Y/n had overheard - who was sleeping soundly on his beach towel.

Y/n watched as the boys wrestled each other for a bit, not joining the other two girl's conversation and feeling rather awkward about it. Should I say hi? Introduce myself? Should I ask for their names first? Fuck, maybe I should've went with Keisuke-

''Y/n, right?'' the blonde one spoke, causing Y/n to let out a sigh of relief, mentally thanking her for starting the conversation first. Y/n nodded. ''Ah, Mikey mentioned Baji-kun will bring his girlfriend today. I honestly thought he was joking.''

Y/n couldn't help but laugh. ''Yeah, honestly, I was surprised, too.''

After quick introductions, the air seemed to get less and less heavy and Y/n actually quite enjoyed getting to know the two girls - usually when she hangs out with someone, it's either Baji and Chifuyu, or people from her club with whom she mostly talks about club activities.

This change felt refreshing.

After a bit, Hina and Emma had decided to sunbathe so they laid down with their shades on. Y/n, on the other hand, didn't feel like doing nothing, so she brought out her notebook and pen, getting to work and doing what she was going to do before Baji called her.

''Oh, what are you doing?'' Apparently Hina had sat back up and noticed what Y/n was doing.

Not looking up from her notebook, Y/n answered. ''I'm writing down some ideas for this one book I'm writing.''

And thus, Hina unlocked Y/n's rant about her book, sweatdropping as the seemingly quiet girl kept on talking and talking and talking . . .

''I'm back, pretty.'' Turning around, she saw Baji sitting down on his towel, fully wet. His hair was pulled up and a few strands framing his face. He looked very pretty himself, but Y/n didn't have the courage to say it, especially in front of other people. Leaning a bit towards her, Baji tried to steal a glance at her notebook. ''What're you up to?''

''Putting the scenes in order already so it's easier to write later,'' Y/n said, lifting her notebook slightly so he can see.

Hina, feeling freed, laid back down on her towel with a small smile on her face.

''Oh, lemme see.'' He reached out to grab the notebook for himself, but Y/n immediately pulled it away from his hands. ''Oi!''

''Your whole body is wet, you'll ruin the notebook!'' Y/n whisper-yelled as to not disturb Emma, Hina and Pah-chin.

Baji looked at his hands and quickly wiped his palms from the towel he was sitting on, trying to grab it again. Before he could, Y/n closed it and put it in her bag, hiding it under Baji's shirt so she knows it's safe.

''Y/n,'' Baji dragged out her name, wrapping his semi-wet but cold arms around her, causing her to to sqirm.

''AYE! You're cold, get off!'' Y/n said as she tried to get his arms off of her, though unsuccessfully.

''If you won't let me read at least come to the water with me!''

''Fine! You're being too loud anyway, the others are trying to relax,'' Y/n told him as she got up. Grabbing his arm, she pulled him up and dragged him towards the water.

Emma and Hina both sat up once the two started walking away, watching with small smiles on their faces. ''Baji-kun seems so happy with her.''

''Yeah, can't wait for the wedding.'' The two shared a look, laughing at the thought.

Y/n winced as her feet came across the coldness, trying to get used to it, whilst Baji ran in and jumped, splashing water all around him. He came up again, slicking his fallen strands of hair back. ''C'mon, the water's so nice!"

''Let me get used to it!'' Y/n said as she slowly started moving deeper, letting her hips get used to the temperature.

Baji waited for a few moments before he let out a groan. ''You're being too slow, pretty.'' Then, before she knew it, Baji started splashing water her way, causing her to shriek from the cold.

''KEISUKE!" she screamed, finally letting her whole body sink in the water. It was still cold and she was trembling, but she had no other choice at this point. ''Fuck you, I'm freezing now!''

''Aw, come here, let me warm you up.''

As Baji wrapped his arms around her, Y/n felt like she was about to explode. She was warming up, sure, though for different reasons. They were half-naked and pressed to each other - it felt too intimate, making both her and his mind wander off to places it shouldn't at the moment.

''You know,'' Baji broke the rather awkward silence. ''We should go ice-skating in winter.''

''Keisuke, summer just started.''

''I know, I'm just throwing the idea out there!''

''I also can't ice-skate.''

''Yeah, me neither. That's the fun part!''

''Broken bones aren't fun, Kei.''

''Don't be a party pooper.''

''If I break something it's on you, Baji.''

''Aye! My name's Keisuke, pretty.''

Y/n rolled her eyes at all his comebacks, finally moving her arms away from between their bodies and wrapping them around his waist, feeling the slight chill at the loss of contact. Baji felt himself warm up extra when he felt her chest fully touch his.

Silence fell between them again, though this one wasn't awkward. They were looking at each other and before they knew it, each of them started leaning in slowly and-

''NOW, MITSUYA!''

Y/n let out a shriek when Chifuyu and Mitsuya started splashing her and Baji with water, the two of them laughing whilst Baji cursed them. After a few moments the water stopped coming, but the laughter coming from the two boys seemed to only get louder as they noticed Y/n's angry expression.

''WHAT WAS THAT FOR?'' Y/n asked the two, the anger evident in her voice.

''You guys were gonna kiss,'' Chifuyu said, gagging slightly. ''Get a room!''

''ARE YOU GUYS TWELVE? THE HELL?''

Instead of joining Y/n at yelling at his friends, Baji was looking at her, still holding on her waist and admriting her - in his opinion - cute expression. Mitsuya, noticing that, chuckled. His friend really was in love, wasn't he?
