If the occurring difficulties (wind) for the majority of time is too strong for the power of our drive (motivation), it may turn out that such long-term overload will break the drive (the loss of motivation). For example, it may be caused by the fact, that our goal goes beyond the level of motivation we can use to reach it. It means that at the moment we cannot create a motivation which is strong enough to overcome some greater obstacles in order to achieve bigger goals. Remember that You have to learn that as well, and, in particular, You have to build Your motivation by gaining experience in reaching some easier goals. However, if You are persistent in pursuing Your goals, You will gain a shield protecting You from the wind – the symbol of the unpredictable events – when it blows in an unfavorable way and in a particular moment is an obstacle on our path to the goal. Persistence (Your shield) protects Your drive (motivation) from overloading which will results in its destruction. The destruction of the drive is the same as the loss of motivation. As You know, without motivation, which is our drive, we probably won't move forward on the path leading to our goal because we will be completely dependent on the fate (and we perfectly know how it is to count only on the stroke of luck – of course, sometimes it may come, but it is highly unlikely that the fate will be in our favor in every moment and every place on our way). When we have persistence, we shield ourselves from the unfriendly wind, and that's why we don't lose our motivation. Consequently, we keep on moving towards our goal in order to reach it in the end.

Remember: the more persistent You are, the bigger chances You have to shield Yourself from the stronger wind which is unfriendly at a particular moment. Thanks to the persistence we work our way to our goal. When You are adequately persistent, You restrict the actions of the unfriendly events, because even if the wind occuring in a particular part of Your path wants to throw You out of it and Your motivation (Your drive) has lost its power for a while, You'll still be able to protect Yourself, You'll remain on Your path to the goal, and after a while You'll again feel stronger motivation to reach that goal.

Remember: You can shield Yourself from numerous unpredictable events which aren't in Your favor when the persistence, which is based on Your strong, unconditional faith, accompanies You on Your path to the goal. You should decide that no matter what obstacles You may encounter, You will not give up and You should endlessly trust that in spite of those obstacles You will reach Your goal. In short: persistence is a decision supported by the faith that You will get whatever You want.

Be persistent and You will limit the power of the unfriendly events occuring on Your path to the goal.

If You want Your shield to be strong, You have to endlessly believe that You will reach Your goal no matter what. Always keep that goal in front of Your eyes, imagine it as if You've already reached it and keep on repeating this image as often as possible, especially when You are haunted by evil thoughts which undermine Your belief in achieving it. The point is that You shouldn't wonder "whether it will happen", You just have to believe that it will happen. That's it! The belief in reaching the goal is closely linked to the persistence, because when we believe that it will happen, we don't give up and constantly take action in order to make it happen. Therefore some unpredictable events (the wind) which, at that moment, are unfriendly, cannot throw us out of the path to the goal because we perceive them as a temporary obstacle, and we know we will overcome it – no matter if it will happen at the first, second or later attempt.

The flame of faith has to be constantly fueled, so that it will be our shield. Therefore, in Your head You should create images which present You as if You've already reached Your goal; surround Yourself with things which will keep on reminding You about Your goal; make a plan which assumes that You constantly do something in that respect. You should also undertake another attempts to overcome the setbacks and treat it as a challenge which You know You will win!

Joanna Jędrzejczyk is a Pole who became the champion of the Mixed Marital Arts in the most famous and most valued MMA organization in the world – UFC. She's defended the title multiple times. As she said – sport has always been her whole life. In short – she couldn't live without it. She loves all kinds of physical activities. She openly admits that the beginning of her MMA career has been a very difficult period for her. She's even considered giving up on sport as her profession. Despite her love for sport she's been discouraged by the fact that she hasn't been able to make a living out of it. Discouraged, she submitted her CV in two companies (a publicity agency and a copying machines company) where she successfully went through the recruiting process and received job proposals. However, deep inside she knew that such life wouldn't make her happy, because she would be doing something she doesn't like, and she'd have to give up something she loves! Therefore, she decided not to give up and believe that she will succeed. Her persistence and determination paid off – the UFC federacy recognized her! Her dream came true – she makes a living out of sport. Of course it may seem that her dream came true on its own, but in reality it was Joanna who fulfilled it, thanks to her faith and persistence in reaching the goal. However, what's most important is that she was 100% positive that her goal was true. Otherwise she wouldn't have been able to fight for her dream so efficiently. You should also take a leaf out of her book – decide what Your true goal is and when You'll be certain of it, fight to make it happen, just like she did. It's better to fight for something that will bring You happiness than to give up and be unhappy for the rest of Your life...

Joanna Jędrzejczyk knows that in order to be a completely happy person You cannot do something against Yourself. That's why even though she could have moved to the USA, like many other UFC competitors, she didn't do that and that decision was completely conscious. Joanna lives in Poland because here she feels happy. As You can see, it's good to take a holistic (comprehensive) approach to life because in many cases one aspect of life has an enormous impact on other aspects. You have to realize that the inner ease of mind is extremely important. If Joanna moved to the USA against her inner ambitions, it would negatively impinge on her career. Thankfully such thing won't happen because, as You can see, Joanna listens to herself and her own desires. That's why she is happy and reaches her goals in a spectacular way! You also should carry out an honest inner conversation with Yourself and – like Joanna – follow Your heart. Remember: just because the majority of people would choose differently if they were You, it doesn't mean they would be right. When it comes to You, You are the only person who can be right because only You know what really makes You happy!
