Uma groaned as Evie pummeled her with questions about her gown for the winter formal. "Haven't I told you enough? If I knew you were going to be like this I wouldn't have come to this fitting party." A fitting party was a slumber party Evie would throw before any big event and while everyone played games Evie would pull girls to do fittings and take measurements for their gowns for the upcoming event. Currently, she was retaking measurements to resize the dress to fit Uma's changing body. "If you wanted to look right I have to know what I'm working with." Evie chided.

Uma sighed. "I know, I know. But Evie I'm 5 months pregnant, I need to sit down!" Evie chuckled as she finish pinning up the dress. "Alright, hold your sea ponies Uma and let me get you out of this dress. You look beautiful by the way." Uma smiled. "Thanks E. I really love the teal with the dark purple designs." Evie placed the dress back in its bag as Uma walked over and plopped down on Mal's bed. "Finally." She sighed in relief.

"Hey Uma! Truth or Dare?" Mal asked. "Ugh. Truth, I'm too tired for a dare." Mal grinned wickedly. "So what was it like doing it with Harry?" Uma blushed as a chorus of ooh's and giggles filled the room.                 "Really Mal?" She groaned.

"Come on Uma. It's a reasonable question." Mal chuckled. She sighed. Of all the questions Mal could have asked. "Fine. Doing it with Harry was like finding freedom for the first time. We didn't have to hide our feelings or pretend. Everything we wanted we became. I felt love and I felt special for the first time in my life. Despite now knowing the consequences, I wouldn't change that moment for anything." Uma placed a hand on her stomach as silence and engulfed the room.

"I had no idea you felt like that. Despite everything you had against you on the Isle, you and Harry found love. You're both lucky." Mal smiled. "Thanks." Uma said. Evie walked over and collapsed on her bed. "Well girls after 9 fittings I. Am. Beat." Dizzy walked over and pulled her into a hug. "The hard work is worth it though, right? You love designing and we love your dresses!" She exclaimed. "You're right about that Diz!" She laughed. "I'm with Evie, let's sleep. By the way Mal, I'm stealing your bed. If I get on the floor I'll never get up." Uma added. Mal rolled her eyes, "Fine. Let's hit the sack." She walked over and flipped off the lights. "Evil dreams everyone."

Thump. Uma rolled over and snuggled deeper into the blankets. Thump. She moved to hand her stomach to catch whoever was messing with her. Thump. Uma shot up as the realization of what was happening dawned on her. She placed her hands on her stomach. Thump. Uma grinnef as excitement bubbled inside her. The baby was kicking. She crept out of the bed and made her way towards the door. She was just about to slip out when a sleepy voice caught her off guard. "Where are you going?" She turned to see Mal sitting up staring at her.

"The baby is kicking and I want to show Harry." Uma told her. Mal got up and tiptoed over to Uma, placing her hands on her stomach. Thump. "Oh my gosh the baby is kicking!" Mal whispered excitedly. "I told you that." Uma sighed, pulling Mal's hands off her stomach. "I'll be back." She slipped into the hallway and made her way to the boys dorms.

After what felt like an eternity Uma made it to the end of the boy's hallway. She knocked lightly on the door and waited for a response. Shuffling came from inside the room and then the door opened to reveal a newly awoken Harry. His eyes widened when he realized who was standing in front of him. "Uma? What are ye doin' here love? Are ye alright? Is the baby alright?" He whisper-shouted, his voice laced with worry. Uma smiled. "Everything is fine, Harry. I just came to show you this." She took his hands and placed them on her stomach.

"Show me wha-" Thump. Harry went silent as he tried to make sense of what he just felt. Thump. He looked at Uma with wide eyes. "Is that the baby?" She smiled and nodded. "The baby is kicking, Harry. That's our baby moving inside me. Isn't it amazing?" Thump. Harry smiled as he felt the baby kick once more. "It sure is love." He whispered before giving Uma a peck on the lips. "But we really need to sleep." Thump.

"Tell that to your child." Uma giggled quietly. "Why is it suddenly my child?" Harry asked. "Because the baby keeps moving and getting on my nerves like someone else I know." She teased. Harry chuckle as he leaned down to Uma's stomach. "Hello in there." He whispered. "This is yer Da' speaking. Settle down in there so yer mum can go back to bed. Also, ye might not realize this but yer getting me in trouble with yer mum." Uma laughed as she gave Harry's shoulder playful shove. "Alright, that's enough out of you. I better get back to the girls." He nodded before placing a kiss on her forehead. "Yeah, good night love." Uma kissed his cheek before heading back towards the girls dorms. "Good night, Harry."

Gil poked his head into Evie's room and smiled when he saw her hard at work at her sewing machine. "Hey Evie, is it ready?" She smiled as she grabbed a bag off her rack. "Yep, just finished it this morning. She's going to love this dress. Have you even asked her yet?" Gil chuckled nervously. "Well, about that..." Evie groaned. "Gil! You were supposed to ask her weeks ago! What happened?" He sighed. "I wanted it to be perfect so I decided to do some extra things to make the moment special but it took longer than I thought. Then, I was ready but I panicked. It's only been 3 months. What if she isn't ready and I scare her? I don't want to lose Quinn."

Evie shook her head as she rested a hand on Gil's shoulder. "Gil, Quinn loves you as much as you love her. I knew Quinn long before you arrived, and I can say for a fact that I have never seen her happier than she is with you. Just ask her." Gil smiled. "Thanks Evie." She smiled as she pressed the bag containing the gown in his arms. "You're welcome. Now go get your girl." He grinned as he opened the door but paused to place some money on Evie's dresser. "Keep the change!" Gil shouted as he disappeared down the hall.
🌟
Gil walked up to Quinn's dorm room but hesitated as he went to knock. He looked down at the bouquet of White Lilac and Forget-Me-Nots, Quinn's favorites, and the bag containing the dress in his arms. All of this was for her. He would do anything to make her smile and he worked hard to build up the relationship he had with her. Quinn now lit up when she saw him and allowed him to pull her into tight hugs. He loved the feeling of holding her close. Gil took a deep breath and knocked on the door. This was it, the moment of truth.

The door opened and Gil was surprised to see Ruby, Quinn's roommate, on the other side. "Oh hey Ruby. Is Quinn here?" She shook her head as she leaned against the door frame. "No. She ran to the library to get more resources for her History of Heroes and Villains project. She'll be back soon though." He sighed. "Of course. Can I come in and wait?" Ruby rolled her eyes and opened up the door. "I suppose, but I'm heading out to meet up with Ryan so we can go on our double date with Lonnie and Jay." Gil nodded as he made his way inside. "That's okay, I can wait alone."
Ruby picked up her purse and headed for the door. "Good, but if you steal anything I will know." With that she left the room leaving Gil alone. "I haven't stolen anything since we left the Isle." He muttered as he sat down on Quinn's bed. He looked around the room as he studied the decor curiously. Ruby's side had a styling table and an art easel will Quinn's had a shelf full of books in a writing desk. He smiled knowing the room suited both girls perfectly.

Gil sat the dress and flowers on the bed and walked over to Quinn's desk. He was curious to see what story she was covering for her project. He looked over at her notebook and his eyes widen when he saw the title: Beauty and the Beast. He groaned. "It had to be my dad's tale." He was about to walk back over to the bed when he noticed something red drawn on the inside of the cover. He lifted the pages and smiled at what he saw. On the inside cover of her notebook, Quinn had drawn their names in cursive with red hearts floating around them.

He smiled as he ran his hand over the page. This was proof of her feelings towards him. Evie was right, Quinn did love him. He put the notebook back like it was before walking back over to the bed. He had just picked up the bouquet of flowers when he heard the door open behind him. Gil turned around and froze when he saw Quinn in the doorway. She quickly shut the door and gave him a confused look.

(Italics=Conversation in Sign Language)

Gil took a deep breath as he laid the flowers down and began to sign. "Hey Quinn." Quinn's eyes widened. Gil had learned to read her gestures when she signed but he never signed before. She cleared her thoughts and quickly signed back. "Hi Gil. What are you doing here?" Gil smiled is he beckoned her over to the bed. She made her way over and smiled when she saw the bouquet of White Lilac and Forget-Me-Nots, her favorites. "Thank you." She signed before picking up the flowers to smell them.

"You're welcome." He responded back. "But there's something else." Quinn looked around before noticing the black garment bag on the end of her bed. She gave Gil a curious look before opening it. When she saw what was inside she gasped. It was a beautiful green dress with gold detailing at the top. It was stunning. Quinn turned to Gil to sign but realized he was already signing to her. "Will you go to the dance with me?" He asked. Her face lit up as she signed back. "Yes, yes, yes!" Quinn then pulled Gil into a tight hug which he happily returned.

As the two pulled apart Quinn began to sign. "When did you learn to sign?" Gill grinned as he replied. "I've been learning since that day Jay introduced us. I was just waiting for the right moment to surprise you." Quinn smiled brightly as she responded. "This is truly the best surprise ever. You have no idea how much this means to me that you did all of this. You really learned to sign for me?" Gil nodded. "Of course. You mean the world to me." He smiled sweetly before wrapping her and tight hug once more. This was going to be a dance to remember.
