It's been at least three months ever since I became friends with Shizuku.

During those three months, we've gotten closer well I personally think so, we spend most our free time together in the music room and sometimes even at the library where we read a book we haven't read yet and even play some chess currently the results is 69-0 in my favor .

But as for the white room the intensity of our training continues more and more students begin to dropout in the span of these three months half of us have failed.

Making only 10 of us left to survive.

But as a result of that, our rooms have gone under construction to make more space for the other generations.

Making two of us to share a bedroom.

Coincidentally my roommate was Shizuku.

Who was definitely happier than I anticipated with us being roommates.

Normally a girl would show discomfort with sleeping in the same room with a guy.

But then again, were not exactly normal.

Currently we are now at our bedroom.

We've just finished our usual spar with our instructors and now ready to sleep.

Or that's what I thought, was supposed to happen

"Nee, nee Kiyotaka are you awake?"

I heard her quiet voice as I turn my head to face her direction to see her giving me a small smile.

"Yes but we should probably sleep we have a special test tomorrow."

I reminded her the special test that we will partake tomorrow.

"Eh, but I'm not sleepy yet!"

She complained as she shakes her head.

"Well I am, so goodnight."

I said as turn my head back to the ceiling and slowly close my eyes, though I couldn't see but I could feel Shizuku pouting at me.

After a few minutes of silence I thought she finally decided to sleep, so slightly opening my eyes and turning my head.

I see her wide awake giving me a little smirk.

"Sleepy huh?"

*Sigh*

"Well since your finally not 'sleepy' anymore, let's talk!"

"What do you want to talk about then?"

I decided to give in her to command, this was the first time I haven't followed our schedules, usually were supposed to be asleep before 11 p.m so this was my first time being awake at this hour.

It wouldn't really affect me too much, we have started training in the night, so this was good practice.

"Hmm, I guess we should talk about our special test tomorrow."

She quietly said, though she had made it this far in the white room she knew she couldn't catch up forever, she must be worried that this test would be her final one.

Though I don't know why but the thought of that happening hurts my chest just a tad bit.

But I digress and answered her question.

"It's probably just a full on fights with our instructor."

I said my honest opinion but then again this place may surprise us.

"Eh, what a boring answer."

She said with a giggle.

But apparently my blunt answer made her happy?

"Well I think it's gonna be much bigger."

"How so?"

"I don't know, but maybe we'll finally go outside!"

"Outside?"

"Yeah I know, It's probably not gonna happen but I try to be an optimist."

She said with a smile as turn towards the ceiling reaching her hand out.

"I mean aren't you curious?"

"I am but unlike you I am realist."

"Boo, c'mon Kiyotaka you should lighten up *yawn*"

She yawned as she places her hand to cover it and a tint of red covers her face.

It seemed like she finally getting sleepy, maybe I should tease her about this.

"*yawn* Don't say it."

She said as she gives me a little glare.

"I haven't said anything yet."

"I know what you were gonna say."

I wonder how she knew, was she an esper?

"No, stupid."

As reading my thoughts again she answered my question, which just gave me more reasons to believe she was an esper.

"*sigh* For someone so smart you can also be dumb."

She said with a small smile and closer her eyes ready to sleep.

"... Ne Shizuku?"

I asked as I also turned back my head to the ceiling closing my eyes once again.

"Hm?"

"How do you do it?"

"Hm? What do you mean?"

I wanted to ask her something that I have been curious about her for a long time now, though our first interaction was three months ago, I've always observed her and our classmates and out of all of them Shizuku was the one I was the most curious about.

"I mean how do you stay like this?"

The question that I've been curious about her for a long time.

Most students who've made it this far have drastically changed from their beginning.

Even I was subjected to that change but not her, she remained the same.

No matter the challenge we were facing, no matter how difficult it was getting and no matter how close she was from failing.

She never changed, she kept her personality though she didn't express it when doing our test or training but she still held it with her.

"... Because if I... no if we ever get out of here I want to experience the outside this way."

"I want a huge smile on my face when I see the sun, I want my eyes to sparkle when I see the moons and stars."

"I won't allow this place to change me."

She finished.

The outside huh? That's her motive to see the colorful world to escape this white prison.

She wants to be free.

"...Ne Kiyotaka why did you ask that question?"

"I was just curious how the most human of all us stayed this determined."

I answered her question with honesty.

".. The most human? but doesn't that title belong to you?"

She said with a genuine tone.

"Hm?"

I was confused with her question, I was the most human?

In what basis was I the most human out of all you, most of them have tried to hollow themselves but no matter what they couldn't, they would always have at least some sort of emotion or a goal.

If we remove the fact I was born as a human, I'm just a void with human skin.

"What do you mean by that?"

"...Well to me, Kiyotaka is a fragile person."

She answered making me more confused.

"Your so fragile that you made yourself empty and hollow to try and not be endanger."

"I'm sorry if that doesn't make senses but to me that makes you the most human."

"And Kiyotaka if we do ever get out here, let's travel all over the world."

As she said her final thoughts she yawned once more and began to sleep a small smile gracing on her face.

WOW, I already made a short story.

So weird, almost feels like I made another story with no idea how to progress it and now I'm just making a short story just for an update, not because this chapter was necessary (sorta) nor I couldn't put this for the next chapter.

No I just did it so I could update.
