Abeer looked at him who was not even turning his face towards her and the moisture that she had been holding back flowed down her cheeks.
Asad clenched his fist but he couldn't do anything. He had promised Abeer on their way there that he would not do anything stupid.

"Sahir please....." Abeer said again.

"I'll never forget this favour", she almost begged and Sahir turned his face towards her.

"I'll never forget the moment I fell in love with you", he said and looked down for a while.

"But.... I fell in love with your smile", he looked up and fought so hard with himself to prevent his eyes from moistening.

"And.... I've lost it. I don't know the Abeer who has been with me for the previous three days", he said.

"I'm sorry Sahir.....but I can't do this", she said through her sob.

"Come on Abeer...... I don't want to lose the thing that I love by marrying you", he said and Abeer looked up.

He was smiling, not fake smiling, it was that smile which always seemed to come from the truest part of him but still, it failed to hide the sadness that shadowed his eyes for a few seconds.

"Wipe out your tears. You look adorable with tears in your eyes but that doesn't mean that you have to keep doing this again and again", he said holding out a few tissue papers towards her.

She smiled. After a long while, it was a genuine one.

"But...you said the engagement can't be stopped...?" Asad asked.

Sahir looked at Abeer and then at him.

"If I am not going to get engaged with her than it definitely doesn't mean that you will also not be the one", he said with a smile and in that moment Abeer wanted to hug him for all that goodness in him.

Asad kept standing there for a while, trying to consider what he was about to do and then, letting go of all the ego, stepped forward and embraced Sahir in a manly hug.

"But how are we going to tell about this to the families?" Abeer asked.

"You don't need to do anything. Leave it to me", Sahir said parting from Asad and Abeer looked at him with a confused expression.

"Trust me", he said and just like the first time they had met, Abeer wanted to trust him because he was the one who always waved the magic wand and made things good for her........
