-Lucy Silvers-

That feeling where you feel like you're loosing your daughter as everyday breaks, but she's still here with you.

June's behavior had worsened ever since she came back from running off to Dubai.

When she wasn't around, I was worried sick bacause she's my only child and the only successor to the Silvers international.

When she came back, I was so happy to have her back. Especially when she said she wanted to be living in the same house she'd grown up in as a child with her parents by her side.

But then, everytime I walked by her room, she was always either smashing something and laying cuss words on Eri to Jenny or she was letting Jenny know how much she loves Don and what she'd do to get him.

I was certain my daughter was slipping out of my hands and there was nothing I could do about it.

She barely ever came out of that room of hers. I barely saw her in a day. And the saddest part was that we barely or maybe don't even exchange words in a day.

“Don't you think June's slipping from us everyday?” I said my thoughts out loud to Rhys who was prepared to go to work.

The house was always lonely for me. Rhys would go to work early and come late like there's ever anything special in that workplace of his.

June would never acknowledge my presence. And even my personal maid, Jayla was barely a good listener.

“Slipping? How?” He was obviously not interested in the topic and he seemed to be hurrying to get going to work.

I sighed, standing up from the king-sized bed to where he stood admiring himself in the mirror.

“Don't you think her love for Don is getting to another level?”

“Nah, I just think she's still trying to get over the feelings.”

I creased my forehead a little. “Have you never walked past her room?”

He still didn't seem interested. “Why would I invade in her private life?”

“At this point, forget about any fucking private life Rhys.” The anger for not wanting to lose my only child was evident in my tone.

“You're her father who should care about what she's doing.” I used lot of effort to calm my tone.

He still had that uninterested. “Trust me, she's fine.”

This was hopeless. Unless…

I calmed my spirit. “You know… if she doesn't get over this phase anytime soon, it may affect her so well, she might not be able to take over the company.”

With that, he furrowed his brows. What other way to catch his interest than through his precious company.

“I'll talk to her about it, and if all is okay, promise you won't disturb me again.”

Pulling my lips to a smile, I nodded. “Promise.”

We both left the room, sauntering to the parlor where we coincidentally met June and Jenny about to leave the house.

“Going somewhere?” She stopped walking to turn to her dad, a smile planted on her lips.

“Yes dad, Jenny and I have some plans to work on. Do you need anything?”

He walked towards her. “Can you spare me a minute or should we talk when you get back?”

“We can talk now.” Although she still had the smile on, I could sense she felt alarmed.

“I know you're a grown up girl and I don't want to meddle in your business.” He started, and she just stared at him, the smile not leaving her face.

“But when your business starts posing threat to mine, I don't think I'd just sit back and watch.” I wanted to smack his head for that. That was no way to approach her.

She chuckled a little. “And what business may I be doing to pose a threat to the Silvers?”

She leaned closer placing her hand on his tie, straightening it. “Dad, I love the company as much as you do and I know I'm the next successor of it. I would never want to do anything to ruin that.”

He smiled. “I also don't want your leadership ability to waver. You should still possess the strength, boldness and always wanting to get whatever you wish.”

“I promise you dad that I still have the leadership ability you instilled in me when I was younger.”

She replaced her hand on the tie to his shoulder, pulling him in a brief hug. “Thanks dad, I'll most certainly get whatever I want to get.”

The way she said it sent my heart racing in fear of actually loosing her. My only child.

He chuckled. “That's my girl.” I'd never felt like hitting this man like I did at this moment.

She turned to me, a smile that caused goosebumps to appear on my skin, planted on her lips.

“Mom, thank you for your care but I promise you that I'm fine. I'm just doing what I feel is right.” The way she said it didn't do any good in making me feel assured, instead I felt like she was drifting further from me.

I feigned a smile, tears threatening to appear in my eyes. “I hope so.”

Turning to Jenny who didn't seem to notice my pain. The pain of loosing my darling child.

“Please, take care of my daughter.”

She bowed a little. “That is what I live for ma'am.”

June stared at her, chuckling. “What are you talking about? You also have a life.”

“Okay well, that's all I have to say. You can go have fun wherever you want.“ Rhys said.

“Okay. Bye dad, bye mom.” She turned to leave with Jenny but stopped to stare at me without turning.

“Mom, I love you.” Then they left.

As soon as she walked away, a feeling prickled inside of me. I felt so certain that was the last time I'd hear those words from her.

“See I told you all was well.” Rhys headed for the door. “I'm off now, bye.” Then he left too.

The tears started rushing out of me. I'd lost her to whatever she called love. I'd lost my only child.

I fell on my knees, crying with everything in me. This was it. The end.

Jayla scurried towards me from wherever she way, squatting beside me.

“Are you alright ma'am?”

“I've lost her.” As I said it, the tears gushed out even more.

What would my life be without my child or at least a child.

I'd never become a grandma because at this rate, June would never give up till she looses herself forever.
