Slowly the time has started to pass. The date was decided of the marriage which was after a month. Two dates were selected which was after a month and send one after an year and Uday decides to go with the first one. As the date was decided by Uday there was no say of anyone not even the elders.

Reevnat and Uday were in contact with each other and talked over the phone. Both of them were excited for the marriage. The date was slowly coming nearer and both the families were busy in the preperation.

The wedding functions were decided. Today is Mehendi and at night it is Gaun (Gaun is when the ladies of both side of the families and sing the traditional songs). Tomorrow is going to be Haldi in the morning and Jaago in the Night and at the Jaago night Chooda will be made worn to Reevnat.

Everyone is getting ready for the mehendi. The ladies of both sides are getting married in their respective houses. All the functions are to be celebrated seperately.

Everyone has come downstairs for haldi. All the ladies from nearby houses are also there. Reevnat sat on the beautiful sofa placed only for her. All her bestfriends were present as well.

Reevnat's mother came first and drew a small flower in her hand then the mehendi artists began to apply beautiful mehendi on Reevnat's soft wheatish hands. On the function 8 mehendi artists were called to apply mehendi on the hands of all the ladies. This was the scene in the both side . In The Sandhu Mansion the ladies were busy in getting their hands painted in red mehendi.

After what seemed like two hours Reevant's hands and feet were covered in mehndi and the poor girl was sitting there all thirsty and hungry because she didn't got the time to eat anything in the morning.

Reevant's tummy was buring because of hunger when she groaned and shouted " Yaar avdi do loti kudi nu kuch khva pya dao

(Please get your second and only daughter something to eat or drink)

"Do loti ? Ik loti nahi hunda? " asked Gurleen who was sitting by her side in the same condition as hers.

(Second and only? isn't the phrase one and only?)

" Je aapne Ghar ik kudi hundi ta mai ik loti hona c na par aapa ta do bhena aa ta do loti" Reevnat said smiling sheepishly.

(If there has been only one girl in our house than it would have been one ans only but we are two sisters so it is second and only.)

"Kaake menu daso tuc dono ki khana aa? " Asked Armaan standing infront of the both .

(Kids tell me what both of you want to eat?)

"Kuch v sahi aa par khava do please" Whinned Reevnat.

(Anything is fine just get us something to eat as fast as possible.)

Just as Arman was about to go Jagsir and Sukhwinder came with food plates in their hands.

" Asi khavone aa aavdi gudiyan nu" spoke Sukhwinder sitting beside Reevnat.

(We will make our dolls eat the food with our hands.)

Reevant was eating from Sukhwinder's hands where as Gurleen was eating from Jagsir's hands.

All these moments were admired by the people who has came to attend the function and the cameraman too. Everyone was looking at them in awe.

After this Reevant went to rest as her back was hurting due to constant sitting posture. The time passed and now was the night time and it was the function of Gaun. This function is again enjoyed by the families of both the sides.

Gaun is similar to Sangeet . In gaun the traditional folks of Punjab like Ghodi on the boys side and Suhag. Dholle and Mahiye are also sung . In this the Dad side and the mom side taunt eachother in a playful manner.

All the songs were sung. Everyone danced like it was the last day. It seemed like everyone was excited to send Reevnat off. Even Reevant was happy to be sent off , at least that's what seemed.

The next day came soon and Reevnat , her friends and the siblings were dozing off in the morning because the main event was at night which was haldi and jaago.

In the Evening everyone got ready and gathered for haldi first. Reevnat was sitting on a wooden seat and everyone came one by one and applied haldi on her. Same was in Udaybir's side. Both of them were covered in haldi and their friends and siblings were clicking pictures of them. On the both ends there was excitement.

After all the haldi holi functions, Both the groom to be and the bride to be went to change their clothes. Both the boy and the girl were carried by their mother's brother till the area of the functions as per the rituals. Then Reevnat's Uncle (mother's brother) made her wear a beautiful chooda and then covered her hands with a cloth so that she will not be able to see her chooda.

Reevant is a girl who loves chooda and while she was wearing the chooda she got emotional just by the thought that tomorrow she will not be in the gill haveli by this time. She will have to leave her everything behind to start her new life.

Even thought Reevnat was excited but it was difficult for her to get over the thought of leaving her family. Reevant hugged her brother and cried out loud. Arman hugged and too got emotional. Reevnat's father and chachu came forward to consol them but just by the thought that their princess has now grown up made the emotional too.

Both her Chachu and father hugged her tight and cried in the hole that there will be moments when they might be able to get the warmth of this hug. Both were able to recall the day when Reevant was born and was in their arms and now she was a grown up woman who was going to step in her marital life tomorrow and will leave them .

Even though they knew she will return to meet them but that won't be often. A man from there neighborhood came forward to seperate them but Reevnat's father showed him his palm indicating him to stop in his way and not interrupt their previous moments and thanks to the cameraman all these moments were recorded. After the emotional session, everyone enjoyed jaggo with sweet and emotional moments along with come cute bickerings.

The end of the day was 3:00 a. m in the morning and then everyone headed back to sleep.
