Cordelia's Pov

"So what are we doing? Why aren't we working?" Helena lazily asked as she placed her feet up the small table separating the leather black chairs in front of my desk.

"I am working." I grumbled in clear annoyance at her repeated questions.

"Yeah, that's why the contract is already signed." She sarcastically noted.

"I am working on something else." I defied and my eyes kept on following their target with determination and attentiveness.

"As in Tobiah?I have been meaning to ask why have we been silently watching him for more than ten minutes? Your eyes haven't tear away from him at all. It honestly looks creepy."Helena continued to annoy me not sensing my terrible mood.

" I am studying him because all started to get too complicated for me at least. I am eyeing him to understand how am I getting closer to Tobiah each day. Because  I got freaking pregnant and he acts possessive of me then goes to his office to stare and text back his ex." I finally came forward with my thoughts.

Previously in the car, Tobiah reminded me of all the jealous boyfriends that I read about in books and even seen on screens. He hated on Rafael with burning passion. I honestly felt somehow happy at his reaction and that baffled me! I am getting to engrossed into our play and contract while he is clearly texting Lana back.

" Are you falling for him?" Helena asked with a shocked her tone.

"That's one strong expression...I don't have the time to fall. You already know so Elena." I denied seeing the idiot smile at his phone.

After changing into some of my formal wear, Tobiah drove us to the company. The topic of our exes wasn't brought up again and the atmosphere thanks to Jay became playful. Jay saluted us at the door and he certainly remembered Tobiah. My little boy ignored my existence and just sat by Tobiah demanding to be patted. Whenever Tobiah would try to ignore him, Jay would howl in a low cry making us both laugh at his cuteness.

Reaching our offices,  Tobiah walked in planning to go through some files. In less than five minutes though, his phone started beeping once each minute and it got on my nerves. I was about to walk to him and demand that turns it silent but the smile he had on surprised me. His blue eyes sparkled for God's sake! He paced back and forth...No, he was literally sauntering too happily and I felt a pan of weird annoyance crossing through me.

"Uh,huh ....trueee." Helena responded in a strange pitch making me throw death glares at her.

"Don't you have an office somewhere?" I barked at her and she smiled evilly at me. Why is this day taking a wrong turn?

"I do. My boss however is too busy "working" to sign the documents that I need." Helena snapped back and I huffed at her.

"If I sign them, you will leave?" I exasperated not willing to turn this into an endless fight of comebacks.

"Yeah...But I have one more question." She demanded her light eyes glowing with mischief.

"Ask so you can let me be." I sighed knowing that she won't let go of whatever ideas that she has in mind.

"How are you so sure of the fact that he is texting the wicked witch ?"  Helena puzzled using one of the nicknames that Jade, Helena and I created to describe Lana.

"He is smiling like an idiot. Can't you see?" I pointed out seeing the toothy grin that Tobiah had.

"He is always smiling like one. He is one of the happiest easy-going people that we have ever met." Helena reminded me and it is true Tobiah always has a smile on.

"Not that kind of a smile though." I stubbornly informed

"So, you know him now?" Helena dared and I felt like yelling at her because she is surely digging to make me confess.

"I know him enough to take into consideration the idea of ending the contract that we have. I am honestly think that he already did achieve his goal and I too got freed of Henry." I honestly told ignoring Helena's bugged eyes and scowl.

"But Coby and the rice-grain..." She sadly spoke like a kid and I once again my hands involuntarily hugged my stomach.

I am still not totally acceptant of this baby. However, I did find myself instructing Tobiah not to swear in front of it. I also did talk to it while changing about how Jay seems to love Tobiah and surely if it makes it ,Jay will be its protector. Catching myself talking to a rice-grain, I was struck but warmth and a silly smile made their way to me...Being a single mother is heroic right?

"Coby was never a real ship, Elie. The rice-grain though is another topic. I am still thinking about it." I tried to calm her sadness down but she just pouted more at me making me huff loud.

Finally picking the yellow file, I turned it to the pages that Helena pointed. Without reading a word, I just signed where she wanted me to. Signing blindly is a dumb move to most, I though trust Helena with my own life. I trust her most with Jaden so why won't I trust her with my company. I know that this girl is the bestest friend anyone can ever ask for so I am good to sign blindly.

After so, Helena stomped her way out back to the elevator. She can act like a grown-child at times but I love her for it. She believed in "Coby" more than needed and impossible hopes got to her head. I know for sure though that she will forget about it in two to three days...The process of me thinking about what to do next got suddenly interrupted by my loud ringtone.

Staring at the screen, my breathes hitched. Today is seriously a day of exes. Rafael's newly registered name shined bright over the screen and I got paralyzed. Am I supposed to pick up or ignore him? I didn't even reply to his text.

Not knowing how to behave or act, my eyes inexplicably  sought those of Tobiah. He was already eyeing me and his eyes looked alert. I don't know if my reaction to the phone-call gave it away but all I knew is that Tobiah's orbs were no more calm and happy. How dare he though when he is been texting that witch all day?

Gaining my irritation of him back, I throw him a harsh defying glare. I picked my phone, answered it and brought to my ear. In my peripheral, I saw Tobiah glaring and grimacing disagreeing with my deed. He started taking baby-steps towards my office and I fully ignored him when he got in.

"Rafael, Hello." I started feeling the glare of Tobiah nearly setting my phone on fire.

"Sorry, I was busy. No it is okay. I acted pretty emotional too. To be truthful, I was shocked to even see you around. Maybe. No my boyfriend is okay with it...So when? Okay...Bye." I ended still refusing to acknowledge the man who still stood at the other side of my desk.

"I am okay with what?" Tobiah roared but I picked a file and started to read through it.

" We are not doing this again, Knight." I instructed as he still stood rigidly .

" What did he want?" Tobiah's rough tone questioned ignoring my words.

"I said we are not doing this again." I reminded staying as cool as possible about the idiotic man whose harsh gaze is burning holes through me.

" You agreed to going out with him didn't you?" Tobiah spat with clear anger making me gaze weirdly at him...Is he some type of a hypocrite? He can do whatever while have to adhere?

"When is your date with Miss.Witch?" I retorted seeing his eyes grow in size and him getting thrown off balance because of my bluntness.

"What! How did you!" He mumbled with obvious puzzlement.

"Next time, don't smile like an idiot." I clarified "Now, you may go back to your office." I ordered with finality and went back to the file in hand.
