Zayn's POV

The loud bass music boomed through the club vibrating my whole body. It was an end of the year celebration party that my producing company that I owned was having to celebrate the millions of albums sold and hundreds of artists we worked with throughout the year.

Over eight years I had slowly crawled my way to the top after graduating from uni. I started by working with RCA Records in the recording studio with a few artists to pick songs for an album and song writing. I moved up to being a manager of the biggest artists after three years. Money problems became a thing of the past during that time. Then the next year I had dinner with Nick Grimshaw and a man from Capital Record that was selling half of his company. So with that, I bought it with everything I had and suddenly it grew to being as successful as it is now. I'm proud of myself and what I've accomplished, as for my parents, they're a little indifferent.

My relationship with my father was over. We both only speak if it's going to benefit one of the girls or my mother. The girls always come visit me at my house I own in London, as does my mum, but my dad has nothing to do with me. My mum is always telling me that he'll come around, but I know that he should have come around to be proud of me when I got signed to produce a ten million dollar deal two weeks within owning my own company. I've learned to just brush it off and try to live my life in ways that would make me happy. Also getting my sisters to meet all the artists they ever wanted to meet.

I walked around the club to go greet a few people that had come to the club to party. I went over to where Nick was and saw he was taking a shot with someone I didn't really know. I pat his back and got myself a drink so I wasn't being left out of the party.

"Great party, mate. I remember bringing you with me when you were just an intern, now look at you. I told you that you had a great future." Nick joked with me. I shrugged and looked down at my drink. Him bringing up that party he took me to hit that soft spot in my heart that still hasn't healed after all these years.

I would be lying if I said I didn't think of Niall from time to time. Especially when I felt so close to his world now. One Direction was still going strong and coming out with the most amazing music I've ever heard in my life. They're the ones I compete with to get my artist to the top of of the charts. I hear things about Niall and how he's living his life in tabloids and on the news. He had been seen with a few girls as publicity stunts, but he never looked happy in the articles. I actually never saw Niall genuinely happy in anything after the day we went our separate ways. He looked older now, but so did I. From time to time I think of contacting him, but I never do. I only just think of him when I look up at the stars and the first time I saw the ocean. I'm fine with my life, but I'm lonely. Even more so when thoughts of Niall cross my mind.

"There are some attractive lads here tonight, want me to find you one?" Nick asked me as he got another drink. I looked up at him and shook my head with a light chuckle. That's been his goal for me ever since that one day. We've become close friends and in some ways I wish I would have picked a less annoying one. He was more like an older brother now.

"Everyone you set me up with is either really old, smells like weed, tries to lick my armpits or thinks I'll buy them a car. I'm done with your set ups." I chuckled and sipped my drink. There was a loud commotion somewhere near the entrance of the club. The music got turned up to an even more upbeat song as the party seemed to get crazy with whoever walked in. Nick pat my bum and walked away with a soft wink.

I leaned against the bar and looked around at everything. My eyes caught someone that was really tall, then he disappeared into the crowed. I watched as the crowed got crazier and a very very loud, high pitched male voice shouted greetings. I watched and suddenly very familiar faces followed the sound. I was going to walk over to the two men that I hadn't seen in years, but someone tapped on my shoulder to get my attention. I turned to see Simon Cowell was standing there looking like he had just arrived. We carried on a short conversation about how business was holding up for is both as well as how busy the industry had become.

"I see you as a younger version of myself. You're powerful and very attractive." Simon tried telling me. I laughed because I thought he was joking, but when his smile fell I knew he was being dead serious. I pulled my greatest move to get me out of the awkward situation and pulled my phone out and looked at it.

"I have to take this call. It was nice talking to you, enjoy yourself." I told him then walked away with my phone probably upside-down and pressed against my face. I ended up on the other side of the bar and finally put my phone back in my pocket. I ordered two shots and drank them before turning back to see if I could find who I had seen earlier. Instead, I saw someone else I wasn't even close to expecting to see.

My eyes met all too familiar blue ones. Suddenly, the air was sucked out of the room and there wasn't anyone else but me and the one and only Niall Horan. He walked to me, but I couldn't find my legs to move me from where I was standing. He got to me and we both took in the others appearances that had changed. His blonde hair was nearly all brown and was flat on his head instead of how he used to wear it all coiffed up. His face was older in the sense that he didn't have those little baby cheeks. His body had changed to become thinner and more lean muscle than when he had a cubby tummy. But his eyes stayed the same and that's what took me back when we were first experiencing a wild ride of passion together.

"It must be destiny." He told me loudly with a soft smile that wanted to show up on his face that seemed to light up with actual happiness. His words were the exact ones he said to me years ago.

"I don't believe in destiny. I think that it's just the way things are supposed to be." I replied to him with my exact answer. We didn't take a second before Niall was in my arms and our lips were slammed into each other. Suddenly, that soft spot in my heart that had always caused me pain seemed to be filled again. This time, I wasn't letting him go no mater what. But something about the way he was kissing me told me that he wasn't going to let me go either.
