It seemed to be a reasonable scenario.

Murdering anyone who knew his secret. Leaving no residue.

"Ow!"

A sudden stinging pain abruptly interrupted me.

I tore off another leaf from the prickly bush beside me in utter frustration. Staring at the large pile of torn leaves beneath my foot, I sarcastically rolled my eyes.

"It's not my fault alright. I never wanted to do this to you guys. But you need to stop stabbing me every single minute."

Hopelessly, I exerted another sigh into the chilly night air.

"What am I doing..."

It had probably been 2 hours since I was here; well, today. I had been literally camping in the bushes beside my cabin for 3 nights straight. My legs are numb from all the crouching.

It seemed to be a possible reason. If Jungkook did kill In Ha, then it would be beneficial to him. Considering that In Ha did know his secrets. Plus it does seem that Jungkook did go out that night. All this is pointing towards him.

But why would he kill the boy? Why would he kill Mun Syuk?

"Who are you? Why aren't you coming out?" I sighed disappointedly.

Sensing another painful sting on my arm, I frustratingly let out a groan before reaching out to tear off another one of those devils.

"Ow!"

Instantly, I turned around to the voice.

"Why the heck are you here Jungkook." I monotonously said.

I stared at the boy who was in pain as I pinched his cheek even harder. Soon enough, I had let go as he rubbed the swelling area.

"That's what I wanted to ask." He groaned painfully. "So who are you waiting for?"

His strong cologne hit me again as he leant in close.

"Pfft I'm not." I scoffed.

"Then why are you here?"

"You know, it's cool outside."

"In a ...bush?" He gestured to the shrubs around me.

"...Yea?"

He rose an eyebrow before I nodded awkwardly.

"Are you waiting for him?"

"What him? What?" I shrugged.

"The murderer." Jungkook's expressions had turned serious.

"What? There's a murderer here?" I scrunched up my nose in confusion

"What else would you be doing for 3 days straight?"

"It was obviously because- wait...what do you mean 3 days?" I laughed wholeheartedly.

"You're laughing." His eyes squinted into a thin line.

"Yea? What?"

"You're creeping me out noona," He suspiciously said before sitting down next to me.

"Go back to sleep." I pushed his shoulders beckoning him to go.

"Don't wanna."

"Well, you can't stay here forever," I rolled my eyes.

"I will if you do," He grinned widely.

"Seriously, go back to sleep." I ushered him.

At that moment, unfamiliar footsteps echoed out throughout the camp, distracting me from my observation. The distinct sound of heels on concrete travelled further away into the west, the briskness and lightness of the steps had occurred to me that it was presumably a woman.

Carefully, I pushed myself off the earthy floor as I silently crept along the campsite, towards the footsteps. Crouching behind a cabin, I alertly peered out into the spacious area before reaching for my rod for sudden attacks.

"Thanks." I grabbed my rod from a hand behind me.

Wait what-

Swiftly, I turned around to instantly remark his cologne as I met his stare.

"What the?? Jungkook, go back to sleep." I gestured with my hand.

He pouted like a kid.

The footsteps ceased. I stopped in an instant.

"Shhhh," I whispered.

Resting my index finger on his lips, I stared at him, signalling him to quieten down.

Are we discovered??

Paralysed, I stopped dead as the footsteps began to amplify, the person was gradually walking towards us.

Giving Jungkook a slight panicking look, he rose his eyebrow at me.

What do we do????

I eyed him as he shrugged.

Thanks for the advice.

The footsteps eventually slowed down. I calculated.

Around 7 m away.

5m...

I should run.

Turning around to face where we came from, I was about to stand up and run when suddenly, Jungkook leant in towards me. I felt his lips on my cheek before he pulled away. I watched the boy silently run away as I crouched there, stunned by what just happened.

D-Did he just kiss and run???

In seconds, everything was silent. The footsteps had stopped. A voice rang out.

"You're here."

It was like a whisper. A female voice. More importantly, a voice I know.

She continued. "What do you need from here?"

The rest of the words were inaudible. However, the other person she was seeming to talk to, did not utter a single word.

Peering out, I examined the two figures who were facing each other. One dressed in complete black. A male judging by the height and size. His hood had shrouded his face in shadows.

The woman...I knew who she was in an instant.

Ji-Eun...

What is she doing here??

Who is the male??

Gathering my thoughts, I took a quick step back as I hid behind the cabin.

Is it him??

Is he the one??

But why is she here??

"Mi Young?" Her voice called out.

Her shadow cast over me.

Glancing up, I met the gaze of Ji Eun.

"Why are you here Mi Young-ah? It's cold." She smiled at me.

Immediately, I stood up.

"Ji-Eun Timjang-nim! I didn't expect to see you." I bowed before I returned a cautious smile. "I was on the way back from the toilet and I got lost," I added.

She laughed at my statement.

"Come on, let's go back. It's cold." She gently pulled me close to her before resting her hands on my shoulders.

The suspicion was still there. It was definitely suspicious of why she was there.

Yet, I wasn't that cautious in her presence as her warmth spread to my arms. The chilliness of the night was no longer there.

"Timjang-nim?" I whispered.

"Hmm?"

"...Why were you outside?"

"Just meeting someone." She smiled down at me.

"Who?"

"Well, I was just meeting uhh-"

I looked across to her.

"M-Meeting- Mun Sy-" She had stopped.

She was obviously lying.

"Ji-Eun Timjang-nim, Mun Syuk Timjang-nim is dead." I asserted.

I had got something out of her.

Looking for a quick name to bluff past my question. Yet, she had failed to cover it up.

"L-Let's hurry and go back." She gave me one last forced smile.

Everything doesn't make any sense.

Who are you?

***

Creeping along, her figure remained in my sight. He was there. Again. This was the second meeting of both. The coldness of the night eerily emitted onto my legs as I tried to warm myself up.

No. My skirt was not helping. I should've worn some jeans.

Ji-Eun had lied to me before, reluctant in telling me who she was meeting with. She could be an accomplice of him. Yet, I have no idea who he is, nor why Jungkook ran away the last night they met up.

This could be my chance.

My chance to expose everything.
