α―β Chapter 6
Leidy's POV:
"HANA!" "Gumising ka pls, sorry na hindi ko naman sinasadya" kahit whatever i do to wake her up hindi talaga sya gumagalaw , i gently tapped her face, but she wasn't moving. My hands were trembling as i was panicking
"TULONG!!!" I shouted for help na "PARK!" "RYE!!" "EILY!" "TOP!!!" I shouted each name that comes on my mind, hoping for a respond
'Ano bang nagawa ko?!' Tears started to blur my vision as guilt weighed down on me.
I then heard some footsteps na paakyat... i don't know what to do, so i ran as far as i can go, and went outside the building, trying to dry up my tears as i ran. "I'm so sorry Hana, i really didn't mean to"
I wanted to scream, but nothing came out.
Everywhere I looked, all I could see was Hanaβher lifeless body lying there, still and unmoving.
"Hindi ko sinasadya, Hana. Hindi ko sinasadya!" I repeated to myself, hoping na somehow, sa bawat salita, the guilt would disappear. But it didn't. It held onto me, heavy and suffocating.

Top's POV:
"Boom Anne! Kitang kita ka kaya," I laughed as I pulled the blanket off her.
"Eh magaling kasi akong mag-hide and seek. Nakakaloka!" I grinned proudly, raising my eyebrows at her.
We'd been playing for a while now, and nahanap ko na halos lahat. Well, except for Hana and Leidy. "Saan kaya nagtago ang dalawang yon?" I mumbled as I looked around the room, trying to think of their possible hiding spots.
"Seryoso ka ba, Top?" Anne stretched, finally getting out of her cramped hiding place. "Baka nagtatago ng sobrang layo yung dalawa. Parang wala na akong naririnig sa kanila eh."
"Oo nga, tahimik na sila bigla." I started walking towards the hallway. "Maghahanap muna ako, baka naman sobrang ginalingan nila."
As I continued my search, I found Rye sitting on the floor with his back against the wall. "Rye, nakita mo ba sina Hana o Leidy?"
He looked up at me, a little distracted. "Hindi eh, nawala na sila bigla. Akala ko ikaw na bahala maghanap, Top."
"Naku, hindi ko pa sila nahanap. Nakakainis, parang ninja moves yung ginagawa nung dalawa," I joked, pero deep down, something didn't feel right. "Baka tumakas na 'yon para hindi mahanap."
"Ano ka ba, Top, serious ka?" Rye stood up and dusted himself off. "Baka naman napunta na sila sa ibang building?"
"Sana nga," I replied, pero may kutob na akong iba. "Teka, tawagin natin sila."
"Tama. Sigaw mo," Rye nodded.
I took a deep breath and yelled, "HANA! LEIDY! Labas na, talo na kayo! mag dadalawang oras na kami naghahanap!" Pero walang sumagot. Only silence echoed through the hallway.
"Guys!" a moment of silence "What if magtulungan nalang kaya tayo maghanap sa kanila? anong oras na din oh grabe namang pagtatago yan it's very mindful, very hidingness, very mapagisip" Park jokingly suggested, but we agreed to his suggestion.
"Oh sya dun kami" I pointed out a building where i found Anne "Sama ako!" Anne said and we went to the building
As we walk towards the building, di mawawala tlga sa aking isip na baka may nangyaring masama na sa kanila
I glanced at Rye, and his usually playful expression shifted into something more serious. "Tara, hanapin natin sila," he said, suddenly feeling uneasy.
We started searching room by room, checking every possible hiding spot. My heart began to race, not because I was tired, but because there was a growing tension in the air.
"Saan na kaya sila?" I muttered under my breath as we walked through the dimly lit corridors. The farther we went, the more unsettling everything felt.
"Top, nararamdaman mo ba 'to?" Rye asked, his voice suddenly low, like he didn't want to make a sound.
"Oo, parang... parang may mali." My stomach was twisting in knots, but I tried to keep my cool.
As we passed by the entrance to the building, I thought I saw something move outside. "Teka, Rye, sandali. Parang may nakita akong tumakbo."
"Ha? Saan?" Rye followed my gaze, but it was too dark to see clearly.
"Sa labas. Tara," I said, trying to sound confident even though my palms were starting to sweat. We rushed outside, hoping we could find Hana and Leidy goofing off or pulling some kind of prank on us.
But when we got outside, all we found was a cold, empty space. No Hana. No Leidy.
"Pucha naman. Dito lang sila kanina, nasaan na kaya?" Rye started pacing back and forth.
Then, out of nowhere, we heard footsteps running away. It was faint but unmistakable.
"Narinig mo yun?" I asked, wide-eyed. Rye nodded, his expression hardening.
"Hala, tara! Sundan natin!" Rye bolted ahead of me, and I quickly followed. Something was definitely off now.
Running after the sound, I could feel my heart pounding. 'Leidy, Hana, nasaan kayo?'
As Rye and I ran through the cold night air, the uneasiness was creeping in faster now, my mind racing with all the worst-case scenarios.
"Top, bilisan mo!" Rye shouted, I picked up my pace, trying to catch up. We had to find them because something felt terribly wrong.
Suddenly, a loud scream broke the silence.
"TOP!!! RYE!!! TULONG!!!"
It was Anne.
We both froze for a second, our eyes widening in shock. Anne was never the type to scream like that.
"Si Anne 'yon!" I gasped, my heart is pounding. Without another word, Rye and I sprinted toward the direction of her voice. The sound of her sobs echoed through the hallway, pulling us deeper into the school.
"HANA! HANA! Gumising ka, please!" Anne's voice echoed in the empty space.
When we finally reached her, Anne was crouched on the floor, shaking uncontrollably. Her hands were on Hana's lifeless body, desperately shaking her, trying to get any sign of life.
"Hana?!" I shouted, my eyes locking onto Hana's unmoving form.
"Hindi siya gumagalaw!" Anne screamed, tears streaming down her face. "Hana, please! Gumising ka!"
I fell to my knees beside them, not wanting to believe what I was seeing. Hana's eyes were closed, her body cold and motionless. No movement, no breathing. Nothing.
Rye stood frozen, his face pale as if the life had been drained from him. "Ano'ng nangyari dito?" His voice was barely above a whisper.
Anne was sobbing uncontrollably now. "Hindi ko alam... hindi ko alam! I found her like this! I swear, hindi ko sinasadya! I justβ I just wanted to find her!"
I reached out to check Hana's pulse, but there was none. 'Wala na si Hana.' The realization hit me like a truck, knocking the wind out of my lungs.
"Anong ginawa natin...?" Rye muttered, stepping back
I looked at Anne, her face full of guilt and terror. "Hindi natin kasalanan 'to," I whispered, trying to convince myself as much as I was trying to convince her. "Hindi natin kasalanan."
"Pero paano, Top?" Anne sobbed. "Bakit ganito?!"
I didn't have an answer. None of us did.
Rye dropped to the floor beside me, his eyes blank as he stared at Hana's body. "Wala na siya... wala na siya," he repeated, almost like he couldn't believe it. His voice cracked as he said it again, softer this time. "Wala na si Hana..."
The game had turned into a nightmare, and there was no waking up.
"ANNE" I turned my numb face on her, "What happened?" I asked seriously
"H-hindi ko alam??" "W-wala akong alam" "I-i just f-found her like thi-this, i swear!" she answered while her tears are flowing, "teka, pinag bibintangan mo ba ako?" she asked me with a raise on her eyebrow
"Hindi naman sa ganon, baka sakali lang na witness mo ang nangyari sakanya" Rye jumped in, but in fact i really think that Anne has something to do with this
A MOMENT AFTER....
"Pero Top imposible naman yang sinasabi mo, kakahanap mo lang kay Anne diba? tsaka isa pa kasama natin sya maghanap kay Hana tsaka kay Leidy" Rye explained after i told him that Anne was suspicious "Okay okay, pero sino naman ang may gawa nito?" I asked full of curiosity
Anne, still sobbing, gave me a sharp look. "Top, sinasabi ko na nga sa inyo. Wala akong kinalaman dito. I just found her like this!" Her voice cracked with frustration and pain, her hands still shaking as she held onto Hana's cold hand.
"Alam namin," Rye said, trying to calm her down. "Pero kailangan nating malaman kung ano talagang nangyari. Hindi tayo pwedeng magpatuloy na walang alam."
Nobody had answers, just more questions.
"Leidy," I suddenly thought, "nasan si Leidy?"
"Oo nga," Rye muttered, his face paling again. "Leidy... kailangan natin siyang hanapin. Baka... baka alam niya kung ano ang nangyari."
I nodded, standing up. "Tara, kailangan natin siyang makita bago... bago mangyari ulit 'to."
With a final glance at Hana, we left the room, our minds spinning with the uncertainty of everything.
We had to find Leidy. Now.
