After the two of you ate breakfast at the inn, you separated yourself from the siblings. Knowing that you're gonna run into Zenitsu, Inosuke, and the Tsuzumi demon; you shop around for extra food. All of you are gonna need it for strength to defeat that demon. Plus the spider family. As you finished shopping, Pedro comes flying towards you

"Kaw kaw! Kaw kaw! (L/N) (Y/N)! Join up with Tanjiro! South-southeast!" Pedro squawk.

"I don't know where South-southeast is! I don't know my direction!" You roared.

"South-southeast!" Pedro repeated before landing on top of your head. You roll your eyes in annoyance and walk back to where Tanjiro is waiting for you. It wasn't that far of a walk since you spotted Tanjiro at the road that leaves Tokyo.

"(Y/N) chan! Over here!" Tanjiro waves. You smiled and ran towards him. "Did your crow give you a new mission?" He asked.

"Yeah, he told me to go North and to investigate a coal mining town." You answered. Tanjiro's face fell in disappointment and sadness.

"You mean to tell me we're gonna be separated for awhile?" He asked. You were about to laugh and make fun of him when he suddenly started to comedically cry. River of tears burst out from his eye sockets as he tightly embraced you. "I'm gonna miss you so much!" Tanjiro wails.

"Tanjiro! C-Calm down! I was only playing you!" You exclaimed.

"Huh?"

"I was just teasing you. Pedro told me to join you so that we can go South-southeast together."

"Oh."

Tanjiro's red in the face for acting like a fool. You apologized to him before grabbing his hand to lead the way. "What are you standing around for? Come on! We got a demon to kill." You wink while smiling at him. Tanjiro nodded and he led the way since unlike you, he's good with direction.

"Please!" You and Tanjiro suddenly froze at the loud voice. You look up ahead to see Zenitsu on his knees clinging on to the poor girl. The pikachu is crying his eyes out. "Please! Please! Please! Please marry me! I could die any day, you know! That's why I want you to marry me! So please! Please, I'm begging you!" Zenitsu pleaded.

"W-What's up with that? What on Earth?" Tanjiro muttered. Chuntaro flies on Tanjiro's palm and begins to chirp helplessly at him. You have no idea what he's saying, but it's obvious he's complaining about Zenitsu. "I see! Gotcha! "I'll do something about it!" Tanjiro nodded.

Chintaro began to glow as stars appeared in his eyes.

"So cute!" You squealed. You offered your hand to the sparrow and he surprisingly jumped on top of your palms. You then put Chuntaro on top of your head next to Pedro. "Okay Tanji, you deal with the boy and I'll help the girl." You said.

"Right!"

"Please! I'm begging you! I have no one left! I'm begging-"

The Pikachu got cut off by you grabbing his hands off the poor girl and Tanjiro grabbing him by the back of his collar. You gently fixed her kimono which had gotten wrinkled due to Zenitsu grabbing it too long. "You okay, miss?" You asked.

"I am, thanks to you two." She replied

"What do you think you're doing right in the middle of the road? Can't you see she wants no part of you?! And don't go making trouble for your sparrow, either!" Tanjiro scolded him.

"That uniform! You two are from Final Selection!" Zenitsu stated.

"No one I know is anything like you! I don't know you!" Tanjiro roars.

For some reason Zenitsu begins to cry harder. "But we met, remember? We met, remember? You're the one with the problem! Like your memory!" He reminded him.

"He's the one who was muttering about him dying soon!" You called out with your back facing them.

"Oh yeah...that guy." Tanjiro mutters.

"All right, miss. My friend has taken care of the problem. You have a safe journey now." You bowed.

"I will. Thank you both very much." She bows back.

"Hey! Who do you think you are, ponytail?! That girl is gonna marry me!" Zenitsu cries out. "Because she's in love with me, all rig-"

Okay, you love Zenitsu and you know he's awesome and genuinely a good person. But this piss hair is starting to tick you off! Now that you're here in person, he has a very LOUD voice. You turned around to give him a stern look a mother would give to her misbehaving child. "Listen here, buddy! You need to start drinking your respect woman juice and learn that 'no' means no!" You lectured. Zenitsu just stared at you in stunned silence. Most likely, he didn't understand the two words you said. You then gave him a gentle smile. "But you can start learning by apologizing to this young lady." You said.

The moment Zenitsu saw your face, he was mesmerized at your unique and beautiful features. He saw your moist lips moving, but he didn't hear what was coming out of it. Then when you smiled at him, he could hear a chorus of angels singing to him as your body began to glow a golden aura. All three of you were patiently waiting for his apology. But what neither of you, you especially, expect is for him to suddenly glomp you. He buried his face against your waist and began to cradle against you.

"An angel! No! A Goddess came down to marry me! That's why you came between us so that you could marry me! I've been blessed to have a Goddess propose to me! I accept your hand in marriage!" Zenitsu exclaimed.

Your (s/c) face turns beet red in humiliation and in confusion. Never in your life you thought this would happen to you. "Let me go! I'm not pretty enough for you to simp on!" You yelled. You tried to push him off you, but that mother fucker is strong!

Tanjiro felt incredibly protective of you (and a bit jealous that another guy is holding you like that) so he went over to get that yellow haired boy off you. "Get away from her-"

He got cut off by the same girl you two just rescued. She felt obligated to return the favor. She starts slapping him everywhere around his head. "You disgusting pig! First you harassed me! And now you're harassing my savior!" She yells.

"Hey! Ouch! That hurts! Stop it! Stop it! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!" Zenitsu cries out. Tanjiro came to his rescue by holding the girl back.

"H-Hey, calm down!" Tanjiro struggles.

The girls start to angrily point at him. "When did I ever tell you that I love you?! You were crumbled up on the side of the road looking ill, and all I did was speak to you!" She yells.

"You mean you didn't reach out to me out of love because you were worried?!" Zenitsu exclaimed in disbelief.

"I already have a fiance, so not on your life! With all that energy you must be fine now, right!? Goodbye!" She replied. With that, she walked away.

Zenitsu reached out his arm to her. "W-Wait, come back!" He calls out.

"Look, cut it out!" Tanjiro said.

"Wh-Why'd you get in my way? This has nothing to do with you!" Zenitsu cries. That's when Tanjiro gave him the infamous look of disgust at him. If you had your phone with you, you would've taken a picture and saved it as a background. "What's with the look on your face?! Stop that! Why are you staring at me like I'm a creature or something?!" Zenitsu cries out.

I pity this Pikachu. I'll give him some encouragement. You walked over to him and bent down to his level. "Don't be discouraged. I'm sure your future wife is just around the corner." You said. And what I mean by that is she's inside Tanjiro's box. Zenitsu slowly turns around and realizes his Goddess is still here. "GAH!" You yelped. Zenitsu buries his head against your chest as he has you captured again.

"So you ARE my future wife! Let's get married right now before I die!" Zenitsu happily cries.

"Tanjiro! Help me!" You panicked.

This time Tanjiro saved you by lifting Zenitsu's haori and throwing him away. "Don't ever touch her like that again! You hear me?!" Tanjiro warns him.

"Stop trying to come in between our love!" Zenitsu cries. Cue more of Tanjiro's infamous disgusted face. "Listen up! I'm going to die soon! During my next job! The thing is, I'm horribly weak, okay? I'm not kidding! You gotta protect me until I manage to get married, all right!? Just until I marry my Goddess!" He exclaims.

I should really word my sentences more clearly next time. Tanjiro put his hand on his chest and said, "My name is Kamado Tanjiro!" He then points at you while standing protectively next to you. "And my friend's name is (L/N) (Y/N)! Not 'Goddess'!"

"Is that right? My apologies!" Zenitsu replied. He crawls over to you and hugs your waist. "I'm Agatsuma Zenitsu! Please save me, (Y/N) chan!" Zenitsu begs.

"Huh? I don't recommend that. I can barely protect myself and my friends." You sheepishly replied. You try to push him off you, but to no avail.

"Don't say that, (Y/N) chan. You defeated strong demons without me before. Besides, he doesn't need protection." Tanjiro said. He walks over to you both and with one arm, he pulls Zenitsu off you. He then grabs his shoulders and sternly looks at him. "What was your reason for becoming a swordsman, Zenitsu? Why are you so blatantly shameless?" Tanjiro scolded.

"That's a harsh way to put it. I got swindled by a woman and racked up all this debt! The old geezer who took it over for me was a cultivator! Day after day I had to go through all this hellish training! It was so bad I thought I'd be better off dead! I was hoping I could die during Final Selection! But since I was lucky enough to survive, I'm still going through hell every day! I'm so scared!" Zenitsu ranted.

You rolled your eyes and placed your hand on his shoulder. Zenitsu's heart skipped a beat upon seeing your face again. "Stop crying. You won't be able to meet your future wife if she sees you crying like this." You smiled.

Zenitsu FINALLY stopped crying and the three of you are walking down the road. It was peacefully quiet thanks to Tanjiro walking between you and Zenitsu so that he wouldn't glomp you again. Pedro, Matsuemon, and Chuntaro are squeaking and chirping at each other like bros.

"You got it out of your system?" You asked.

"Yeah. Now that I'm calmer, I'm getting hungry." Zenitsu said.

"Say no more." You smiled. You reached inside your haori and pulled out three onigiri and three dangos. You gave one of each to both boys and the remaining one for yourself. "Here ya go. We're gonna need it real soon." You said.

"There's no need to give me, (Y/N) chan. I already have my own onigiri." Tanjiro said. He tried to give it back to you, but you gently pushed it back to him.

"Think of it as a gift for saving my ass multiple times." You said.

Tanjiro takes a bite of it and smiles. "There's no need to ever thank me. I care about you a lot, (Y/N) chan." He mutters while blushing. Thanks to Zenitsu's super hearing, he heard every word he said. Zenitsu stares at you both before munching on his own onigiri.

"Thank you, (Y/N) chan. You really are a Goddess." Zenitsu said. Your mouth gaped open a bit before munching on onigiri. "So how long have you two known each other?" Zenitsu asked.

"A little over two years. We trained together under the same master." Tanjiro answered.

"We found each other at the right time. I was looking for a master when Tanjiro found me." You added.

"You're so brave that you wanna willingly fight demons." Zenitsu said.

"No, I'm not. I'm always scared when I'm about to fight them. I'm afraid that I'll make a mistake that will cost someone their life." You confessed.

"I'm with her. I know what it's like to get scared." Tanjiro added. "But you shouldn't cause your sparrow distress."

"Was it distressed? The sparrow? How can you tell?" Zenitsu questioned.

"Well, he says that you're always whining about not going to work, and you're always hitting on girls,, and that you snore so loud, he's had it! So he says." Tanjiro answered while pointing at Chuntaro. Chuntaro chirped in agreement.

"You're so lucky you can understand him. Man, I'm so jealous." You whined.

"You can understand bird language?" Zenitsu gasped. Tanjiro nodded. "You're lying, right? You're just trying to trick me!" He accused him.

"Caw! Start running! Start running! Tanjiro, (Y/N), Zenitsu, run!" Matsuemon announced.

"You three go to your next destination!" Pedro squacks.

"These crows can talk?!" Zenitsu exclaimed.

"What? You didn't know that either?" You asked.

"Come guys, let's go." Tanjiro said.

The three of you took off running towards the mansion. Your heart is beating faster than ever in excitmenting for meeting Inosuke next. But then you remembered the beating he gave to both boys. That part you are not prepared for. No. Wait. You remember the guy who jumps out the window. If you timed it right, you might have been able to save him.

After running for a couple of minutes all of you slowed down. You tune down the conversation between Tanjiro and Zenitsu. A mansion finally appears in front of your view. You looked around and spotted the children.

"(Y/N) chan, where are you going?" Tanjiro calls out. You ignored him and walked over to the two frightened children. The two kids got terrified by you, but you smiled and kneeled down at their level.

"Want to see something cool?" You asked. You opened up your haori to show Pedro and Chuntaro. "This is a tame sparrow and he's so cute. The other one is a talking crow. Say 'hi', Pedro." You said.

"Hi! Hi! What's up, mother fuckers?!" Pedro squacks.

"He can speak another language. Cool, huh?" You beamed. On the inside, you cringed that Pedro has been picking up on your American phrases. Gotta learn not to talk English around Pedro.

The girl hesitantly walks up to you and shakily extends her arm at Chuntaro. The sparrow jumps on her hand and chirps at her. You can see a ghost of a smile on her. Tanjiro walks over to the older boy and kneels in front of him.

"Please tell me. Did something happen? Is this your house?" Tanjiro questions him.

"No, no, it's not." The boy shook his head. "This...This is...A-A monster's house. Our big brother got taken away. When we were walking down the road at night, this monster we'd never seen before showed up. It didn't give us a glance. Just our brother."

"And they went inside the house, right?" Tanjiro asked. The boy nodded his head twice. "Did you two followed them here? You did good! Great job!" He praised.

The girl suddenly hugs you, making Chuntaro fly away from her. You gently patted her head as her body trembled while crying. "We followed traces of his blood because he got hurt!" The boy sobs. You know that the oldest brother is gonna be okay, but it doesn't make your heart hurt less to see these young children cry.

"Don't worry, little ones. My friends and I will defeat the monsters and save your big brother! You can count on us." You beamed.

"Really? You really will, miss?" The girl gasped.

You place your finger over your heart and make an 'X' movement. "Cross my heart." You vowed.

"Arigato!" She exclaimed, while hugging you harder. You smiled warmly at her and returned the hug. When she lifts her head up, instead of seeing her face, you see Leo's. Now it's you that has tears glistening in your eyes when you see his shiny black hair, warm (e/c) eyes, and flushed face that complements his (s/c) skin.

"(Y/N)..." Zenistu spoke. Hearing your name snaps you out of your thoughts. You look down again to no longer see Leo, but the small girl instead. "What is this sound? The creepy sound never stops. Is it a tsuzumi?" Zenistu asked.

"I don't have super hearing like you do. Sorry." You replied.

"I don't hear anything either." Tanjiro added.

This is it. Any moment that guy is gonna fall out the window. You immediately took off running towards the mansion. "(Y/N) chan, where are you going?!" Zenitsu calls out.

Just as you begin to run, the body flies out the window. You can hear the others gasping behind you in shock. You jumped up and caught him before his body reached the ground. You did it! You saved his life...right? The man didn't look so good. There's blood all over his body and you can hear the depleting oxygen leaving his lungs. You clasped his hand with yours and gently squeezed it.

"S-Sir?" You stuttered. Tanjiro runs up to you two and grabs the other hand. "Hanabi, you're gonna be alright." You assured him. Did I just call him 'Hanabi'? What is wrong with me?

"Are you alright?!" Tanjiro gasped.

"Even though...I got out...Even though I made it out...Made it outside...Still...Am I gonna die? Am I still gonna die?" The man gurgles in pain. You squeezed his hand and hugged his body. "A Goddess?...Did the heavens send me one...To go in peace..?" He questioned.

"Please, sir. We're gonna get you help! Just hang on a little longer!" You pleaded.

No response. The man is long gone. You gritted your teeth in anger. Damn it! Even when I caught him, he still died! My existence did nothing to change that! Does that mean I won't be able to save the fallen in the future? Tanjiro placed his hand on your shoulder to bring you back.

"(Y/N) chan, Tanjiro, by any chance, is that guy these kids'..."

Zenitsu got cut off by a sudden loud noise that made everyone, but Tanjiro, cover their ears. After the loud screeching has stopped, you gently laid the man to rest.

"Hey, is this man your..." Tanjiro was about to ask.

"I-It's not our brother. Brother's wearing a persimmon colored kimono." The boy answered.

You both got up and turned to Zenistu. "Zenitsu, come on!" Tanjiro said. Zenitsu shook his head no as his body trembled in fear. "But it will take the tree of us to defeat the demon." Tanjiro said. The pissed boy is still not budging. Your face hardens while grabbing Tanjiro's hand and walking away.

"Let's go, Tanjro. This crybaby's only gonna hold us back. We'll just take the demons out together like always." You said.

Zenitsu is now suddenly grabbing your leg and you are comically dragging his ass with you. "Don't leave me, my Goddess. I don't want you to go alone!" He cries.

"(Y/N) chan's not alone! She has me!" Tanjiro snaps while looking demonic.

"I'll go! I'll go!" Zenitsu cries.

While no one is looking, you smirked to yourself. Works every time.
