MORGUE - DAY

The three Winchesters stand with a coroner as he opens up a body bag.
"Agents, meet Frank O'Brien." He say.
"He died of a heart attack, right?" Sam asks.
"Three days ago."
"But O'Brien was 44 years old and, according to this, a marathon runner." Ellie states look at the report.
"Everybody drops dead sooner or later. It's why I get job security." The coroner says.
"Yeah, but Frank kicked it here. Now, just yesterday, two perfectly healthy men bit it in Maumee. All heart attacks, you don't think that's strange?" Dean asks.
"Sounds like Maumee's problem to me. Why's the FBI give a damn, anyway?" He asks.
"We just want to see the results of Frank's autopsy." The oldest Winchester states causing the coroner to look confused.
"What autopsy?" He questions.
"The one you're gonna do." Dean replies with a stern face. He sighs and starts to cut open the dead body causing Sam and Dean to grimace a bit while Ellie looks unfazed.
"First dead body?" The coroner asks.
"Far from it." Ellie mutters.
"Oh, good. Because these suckers can get pretty ripe. Hey, hand me those rib cutters, would you?" The coroner asks Dean causing Sam to take a fortifying breath and Ellie to stifle a laugh while Dean picks up the cutters and hands it to him. He cuts open the ribs and Sam starts squirming causing Ellie to smirk. She then looks at Frank's arm which is full of scratches.
"Any idea how he got these?" She asks.
"You know what? When you drop dead, you actually tend to drop. Body probably got scraped up when it hit the ground." The coroner retorts back sarcastically causing Ellie to raise her eyebrows at him. He keeps cutting into the body and then looks at the three Winchesters with confusion.
"What?" Sam asks.
"I-I can't find any blockages in any of the major arteries." He breaks off the heart while Dean tries not to vomit, Ellie notices this and chuckles at her brother. "Heart looks pretty damn healthy." He hands the heart to Dean causing Sam and Ellie to both smile. "Hold that a second, would you?" He cuts something else in the body which causes blood to spurt up and hit Ellie and Sam in the face. "Oh, sorry. Spleen juice." Dean smirks at this while his little sister scowls back. #

SHERIFF'S STATION

The three siblings are sitting down in front of the Deputy's desk, waiting. The Deputy gives Ellie a flirtatious smile which causes her to raise her eyebrows at him, he then looks towards Dean whose jaw is clenched and shakes his head subtlety at him and he quickly looks away as Sheriff opens his office door.
"Hell's bells, Linus, have you seen my... Who are they?" Sheriff asks as the three siblings stand.
"Federal agents. I, uh..." Linus stutters.
"And you kept them waiting?" He asks.
You- you said not to disturb." The Deputy explains.
"Come on back, guys." The Sheriff says and the three walk over to his office but they are stopped. "Shoes off." The three raise their eyebrows but take off their shoes anyway. "Al Britton. Good to meet you three." He shakes their hands and they all sit down, the Sheriff then takes out alcohol gel and start slathering his hands. Dean looks at his brother and sister with a weird look on his face. "Okay. So, what can I do for Uncle Sam?"
"Well, we're looking into the death of Frank O'Brien. We understand some of your men found his body." Sam explains.
"They did. Me and Frank, we were friends. Hell, we were gamecocks." The sheriff explains, Dean and Ellie snigger and this which causes the sheriff to give them a stern look and they then look abashed. "That's our softball team's name. They're majestic animals. I knew Frank since high school. To be honest, I just this morning got up the strength to go see him. Frank was... He was a good man."
"Yeah. Big heart." Dean mumbles causing Ellie to smirk.
"Before he died, did you notice Frank acting strange? Maybe scared of something?" Sam asks.
"Oh hell, yeah. Real jumpy." He answers.
"You know what scared him?" Ellie questions.
"No. Wouldn't answer his phone. Finally, I sent some of my boys over to check on him, and well, you know the rest." The sheriff says as he starts to pour more gel on his hands again. Dean looks at Sam and Ellie again with a confused look on his face. "So, why the Feds give a crap? You don't really think there's a case here?"
"No, no. It's probably nothing. Just a heart attack." Ellie states.

OUTSIDE

The three are walking back to the Impala as Ellie shakes her head. "No way that was a heart attack."
"Definitely no way. Three victims, all with those same red scratches. All went from jittery to terrified to dead within 48 hours." Sam says.
"Something scared them to death?" Dean asks.
"All right, so what can do that?" Sam questions.
"What can't? Ghosts, vampires, chupacabra? It could be a hundred things." Ellie states.
"Yeah. So, we make a list and start crossing things off." Sam tells them.
"Alright, who's the last person to see Frank O'Brien alive?" Dean asks.
"Uh, his neighbour, Mark Hutchins." Ellie answers, Dean suddenly sees something again and stops.
"Hang on, hang on." He says, his brother and sister turn to him, confused.
"What?" They ask in unison.
"I don't like the looks of those teenagers down there." Dean explains, Sam and Ellie look around and see teenagers talking near the Impala. "Let's walk this way." Dean then crosses the street while Sam and Ellie look at each other with perplexed looks on their faces.

NEIGHBOUR'S HOUSE

The three Winchesters sit in Mark Hutchins' living room which is filled with snakes and other reptiles, Dean looks around nervously.  Mark himself as a snake wrapped around his shoulders.
"So, when was the last time you saw Frank O'Brien?" Ellie asks as Dean sees a big lizard and faces forward quickly, swallowing.
"Monday, he was watching me from his window. I waved at him, but he just closed the curtains." Mark explains.
"Hmm, did you speak to him recently? Did he seem different? Uh, scared?" Sam follows up.
"Oh, totally. He was freaking out." Mark answers, Ellie glances at her eldest brother to see him looking freaked out.
"Do you know, uh... do you know what scared him?" Dean asks while his eyes dart around the room nervously.
"Well, yeah, witches." Mark states, the three siblings all look at the man with intrigue.
"Witches?" Ellie asks as she glances at her brothers. "Like...?"
"Well, 'Wizard of Oz' was on TV the other night, right? And he said that green bitch was totally out to get him." Mark explains.
"Anything else scare him?" Sam asks.
"Everything else scared him. Al-Qaeda, ferrets, artificial sweetener. Those pez dispensers with their dead little eyes. Lots of stuff." He answers as Dean looks around again at the animals inside the aquariums.
"So, tell me. What was Frank like?" Ellie questions.
"I mean, he's dead, you know? I-I don't want to hammer him but, he got better." Mark explains.
"He got better?" Sam repeats.
"Well, in high school he was, he was a dick." Mark states.
"A dick?" Ellie says.
"Like a bully. I mean, he probably taped half the town's butt cheeks together." Mark explains causing Dean to snicker. "Mine included.
"So he pissed a lot of people off. You think anyone would have wanted to get revenge?" Dean questions.
"Well, I don't... Frank had a heart attack, right?" Mark asks them.
"Just answer the question, sir." Ellie says firmly.
"No, I don't think so. like I said, he got better. And after what happened to his wife." Mark says.
"His wife? So he was married?" Dean questions.
"She died about 20 years ago. Frank was really broken up about it." Mark explains. Dean starts staring at the snake around Mark's neck and he notices. "Don't be scared of Donny. He's a sweetheart. It's Marie you got to look out for. She smells fear." Mark says as he nods to the couch, an albino snake creeps up from behind the couch, Dean sees it and gasps. He stays very still while it crawls down his lap. Ellie and Sam watch on in amusement.

IMPALA NIGHT

Dean is sitting in the car reading while scratching his left arm. Sam and Ellie then open the door and climb in.
"Hey. Any luck at the county clerk's office?" Sam asks.
"I'm not sure I'd call it luck. Frank's wife, Jessie, was a manic-depressive. She went off her meds back in '88 and vanished. They found her two weeks later, three towns over. Strung up in her motel room, suicide." Dean explains.
"Any chance Frank helped her along to the other side?" Ellie asks her brother.
"No, Frank was working the swing shift when she disappeared. Airtight alibi." Dean states as he turns on the car and starts driving. "How was Frank's pad?"
"Clean. We searched it top to bottom. No EMF, no hex bags, no sulfur." Ellie answers.
"So probably no ghosts, no witches, no demons. 3 down and 97 to go." Dean mumbles. Ellie then looks outside and then back at her big brother as Sam nods.
"Dude, you're going 20." Ellie states, Sam then looks at the speed-o-meter and then they both look at their big brother, perplexed.
"And?" Dean snaps back.
"That's the speed limit." Sam adds.
"What? Safety's a crime now?" Dean asks them, he then drives through an intersection, past their hotel. Sam and Ellie both look at him with raised eyebrows.
"Dude, where are you going? That was our hotel." Ellie states.
"Ellie, I'm not gonna make a left-hand turn into oncoming traffic. I'm not suicidal." Dean says, Sam looks back at his sister mirroring her confused expression they then turn to their brother who is looking uncomfortable. "Did I just say that? That was kind of weird." Suddenly, EMF goes off in the background.
"Do you hear something?" Sam asks as he takes out the EMF meter, he moves it from and to Dean where it makes a sound.
"Am I haunted? Am I haunted?!" Dean questions them, frantically.

IN FRONT OF HOTEL - DAY

Ellie is on the phone talking to Bobby as her and Sam walk towards the Impala, they hear music coming from it, they see Dean lying on the front seat doing air drums to Eye of the Tiger. Sam bangs on the roof of the car, scaring Dean and making Ellie smirk as she hangs up the phone.
"Guys. Look at this." Dean says and shows them the scratches on his arm.
"I just talked to Bobby." Ellie tells him as Sam hands him a box of donuts.
"And?" Dean smells the box of donuts and throws them into the car. Sam and Ellie look on perplexed by his actions.
"Um, well, you're not gonna like it." Ellie explains.
"What?"
"It's ghost sickness." Ellie answers.
"Ghost sickness?"
"Yeah." Sam nods.
"God, no."
"Yeah." Sam and Ellie say in unison.
"I don't even know what that is." Dean tells them.
"Okay. Some cultures believe that certain spirits can infect the living with a disease, which is why they stopped displaying bodies in houses and started taking them off to funeral homes." Sam explains.
"Okay, get to the good stuff." Dean says anxiously.
"Symptoms are you get anxious... then scared, then your heart gives out. Sound familiar?" Ellie states.
"Yeah, but guys, we haven't seen a ghost in weeks." Dean points out.
"Well, I doubt you caught it from a ghost. Look, once a spirit infects that first person. Ghost sickness can spread like any sickness through a cough, a handshake, whatever. It's like the flu. Now, Frank O'Brien was the first to die, which means he was probably the first infected. Patient zero." Ellie tells her brother.
"Our very own outbreak monkey." Dean adds.
"Right. Get this, Frank was in Maumee over the weekend. Softball tournament. Which is where he must have infected the other two victims." Sam explains.
"Were they gamecocks?" Dean asks.
"Cornjerkers." Ellie answers.
"So, ghost infected Frank. He passed it on to the other guys and I got it from his corpse?" Dean questions, Sam and Ellie nod at this. "So now what, I have 48 hours before I go insane and my heart stops?"
"More like 24." Ellie tells him.
"Super."
"Yeah." Sam nods.
"Well, why me? Why not you two? I mean, you two got hit with the spleen juice." Dean asks. Sam and Ellie look at each other and then at their brother.
"Yeah, um, you see we have a theory about that too. Turns out all three victims shared a certain, uh, personality type. Frank was a bully. The other two victims, one was a vice principal, the other was a bouncer." Sam explains.
"Okay." Dean nods.
"Basically, they were all dicks." Ellie blurts out causing Sam to nod.
"So, you two are saying I'm a dick?" Dean asks with raised eyebrows, they quickly glance at each other then back at their brother.
"No, no, no. It's not just that. All three victims used fear as a weapon, and now this disease is just returning the favor." Sam explains.
"I don't scare people." Dean says defensively.
"Dean, all we do is scare people." Ellie scoffs.
"Okay, well then, you two are dicks too." Dean points out.
"Apparently, we're not." Sam says, smugly causing Ellie to smirk a little bit.
"Whatever. How do we stop it?" Dean questions.
"We gank the ghost that started all this. We do that, the disease should clear up." Ellie tells him.
"You thinking Frank's wife?" Dean asks them. The two nod.
"Who knows why she killed herself, you know? Hey, what are you doing waiting out here, anyway?" Sam asks causing Dean to look up at the hotel.
"Or room's on the fourth floor." Dean mumbles quietly. Sam and Ellie look and then glance at each other and shake their heads. "It's... it's high." Ellie looks at her big brother trying not to laugh.
"I'll see if I can move us down to the first." Ellie says as she smiles at Sam.
"Thanks." Dean says with a small smile.

HOTEL ROOM

Sam and Ellie walk into the room to find Dean sitting nervously on the couch drinking a beer, they look down to see a broken clock on the floor.
"Everything alright?" Ellie asks. her big brother.
"Oh, yeah. Just peachy. Find anything?"
"Yeah, Jessie O'Brien's body was cremated, so we're pretty sure sure she is not our ghost." Sam explains, Ellie notices Dean scratching his arm again and swats his hand away.
"Hey, quit picking at that. How you feeling?" Ellie asks her brother.
"Awesome. It's nice to have my head on the chopping block again. I almost forgot what that feels like." Dean says with a sarcastic smile.
"Yeah." Sam breathes out.
"It's freaking delightful." Dean remarks.
"We'll keep looking." Ellie reassures her brother, he suddenly starts to cough. "You okay? Hey!" Ellie and Sam rush over to Dean as he starts to choke.
"Dean." Sam says as Dean gags over the sink where he spits out a wood chip. Ellie and Sam check that their brother are okay then look at each other.
"We've been ignoring the biggest clue we have, you." Ellie states.
"I don't want to be a clue." Dean whines.
"The abrasions, this, the disease, it's trying to tell us something." Sam explains.
"Tell us what, wood chips?" Dean asks as his brother and sister look at each other.
"Exactly."

LUMBER MILL - OUTSIDE

Dean looks at the mill apprehensively. "I'm not going in there." He states to his brother and sister who look at him with raised eyebrows.
"Look, it'll be quicker if you come in, it means more ground will be searched in less time. And we need time. So you're going in, Dean." Ellie tells him, he takes a drink of whiskey which causes his little sister to roll her eyes at him.
"Let's do this. It is a little spooky, isn't it?" Dean asks them, they both ignore him as Sam hands him a gun. "Oh, I'm not carrying that. It could go off. I'll man the flashlight."
"You do that." Sam says with a forced smile.
"When he gets over the illness, I am never gonna let him forget this." Ellie whispers to Sam causing him to chuckle.

INSIDE

The EMF starts going off in the background.
"EMF's not gonna work with me around, is it?" Dean asks.
"You don't say. Come on." Sam says, Ellie then spots something on the floor.
"Wait." She says quickly, startling Dean. She pick up a ring and reads the inscription. "'To Frank. Love Jessie.' Frank O'Brien's ring."
"What the hell was Frank doing here?" Dean asks causing Ellie to shrug.
"No idea." Sam answers. The three walk into a room full of lockers where they hear a rustling. Sam opens a locker on the count of three and Dean screams after being startled by a cat. Ellie and Sam raise their eyebrows at him as he catches his breath.
"That was scary." Dean breathes out, causing his brother and sister to walk away. "Wait." He quickly follows them, Sam goes over to a desk with lots of drawings of a women on it. Ellie picks up an ID card.
"Luther Garland." Ellie reads out.
"Hey, this is uh... this is Frank's wife." Dean says as he looks at the drawings.
"Plot thickens." Sam mumbles.
"Yeah, but into what?" Dean asks as he tears off the drawing. The machines suddenly turn on, he looks around and sees something in the corner. Ellie and Sam look at Dean and see him looking behind them. They turn around to see a big man facing away from them in a blue jumpsuit.
"Hey!" Sam calls out, they then turn to see Dean running out of the mill. Ellie rolls her eyes and shoots the apparition, they go after Dean who is hiding behind the Impala taking another drink. Sam turns to his sister. "Guess we got the right place." Ellie nods at this.

SHERIFF'S STATION

Linus hands a folder to Sam. "This is the Garland file." He looks behind Sam and Ellie to see Dean swaying. "Is he... drunk?"
"No. Deputy, according to this, Luther Garland's cause of death was physical trauma. What does that mean?" Ellie asks taking the topic of her brother.
"The guy died 20 years ago, before my time. Sorry." Linus states.
"Then can we talk to the sheriff?" Sam asks.
"Um, he's out sick today." He says, Ellie eyes him carefully and can tell he is lying.
"Well, if you see him, will you have him call us? We're staying at the Bluebird. Mind if we take this?" Ellie asks him, he shakes his head and they start to leave. Dean turns to the deputy and starts swaying on the spot.
"Know what? You're awesome." Dean smirks and leaves.

PEACEFUL PINES ASSISTED LIVING

The three walk inside the hospice. Dean is startled by a resident that they bump into in the hallway. "This isn't gonna work. Come on, these badges are fake. What if we get busted? We could go to jail." Dean hisses at his siblings who in whip their heads round to him.
"Dean, shh! Calm down. Deep breath, okay?" Ellie says and he takes a deep breath.
"There. You feel better?" Sam asks, Dean shakes his head no which causes his sister to roll her eyes.
"Just come on. Don't scratch." She tells him.
"Mr. Garland? Hi, uh. I'm Agent Tyler. This is Agent Perry and Hamilton, FBI. We'd like to ask you a few questions about your brother Luther." Sam says.
"Let me see some I.D." Mr. Garland states.
"Certainly." Ellie smiles while Dean looks on nervously.
"Those are real, obviously. I mean, who would pretend to be an FBI agent, huh? That's just nutty." Dean blurts out causing Ellie to stare at him.
"What do you want to know?" The old man asks as the three sit down.
"Uh, well... according to this, your brother Luther died of physical trauma." Sam starts, Mr. Garland scoffs at this.
"You don't agree." Ellie adds on.
"No, I don't." He tells them.
"Well, then, what would you call it?" Sam asks.
"Don't matter what an old man thinks." Mr. Garland mutters. Ellie leans forward in her chair and looks at the man softly.
"Mr. Garland. We're just
