"I don't think so!"
A voice cut through the tense air, I look over at Ed, hoping he minds what his next words will be.
"If he has done it with his own volition, that would be one thing." His voice was shaking with anger, and so was he. "But, to make someone participate in human transmutation against their will, and then steal his eyesight, do you think that's justified? That isn't a truth I'm willing to accept!" He slowly stood up, as if he was about to attack Father.
A wicked, bone-chilling smirk formed on his face, as if something wicked where about to happen. Which it did. An explosion set off above us I the tube filled ceiling, and with it, a small girl and a weird panda thing came with it.
"There he is." She said, looking at Father.
"My home has a gaping hole in it. How dare you, girl." Fathers voice was insisting.
"There's no doubting, he's the one behind all of this."
I looked over at Alphonse, still by his side and nudged him a bit. He's got to still be in there.
He then wakes up, his armor shaking and his "eyes" lighting up to their normal red.
"Al!" Ed and I say, the other girl gasping, he sits up quickly.
"Al are you alright?" Ed said, going over to him as we gather around him.
"Teacher... Brother... (Y/N)... Mei.." He gasped when he saw Father, who was now staring right at him.
"And now... All six are here."
"But let's not forget... You told me you reject the truth?" It said, as we all got up and ready to fight.
"Yeah, exactly. And don't go thinking you won just because you got us all here, we aren't going to sit back and let you sacrifice us!" Ed said, getting his hand ready.
"Your words will do nothing to alter your fates." Izumi tried to get Roy out before Father interrupted. "No, none of you will be leaving. Escaping is no use, you're already deep inside my stomach."
The girl, Mei stepped forward. "Mei! What are you doing?" Ed said as she kept walking closer to Father.
"Envy told me you're immortal." She paused. "So you're not denying it. I'll handle this one, Alphonse." She said with confidence.
"Not on your own he's too powerful!" He's right. Facing Father alone she'll easily be killed, and better yet Pride is by his side so who knows what could happen to her.
"It's fine. He can't control my alkahistory."
"Even if you have your alkahistory, you shouldn't fight him on your own. We can help!"
"I'll be alright, just keep the smaller homunculus out of my way."
"She makes it sound like he's the easy one to fight," I said, remembering what happened when we fought him in the woods.
"If he can strong arm us through the gate, why hasn't he done it before?" Ed questioned.
"Fullmetal, Shortly before I was deconstructed, Seliem said it was their last resort, and they didn't have any other choice," Mustang said, in his lonesome stare.
"Which can only mean it carries some kind of risk for them, then we might have a shot."
Ed and Al built a joint wall, as I ran in from the side. Pride started running, as Ed and Al caught up.
"He didn't even try to use his shadows!" Al said, catching up.
"He's hurt, it looks like his skin is flaking off." I pointed out, using my alchemy to build a higher ground to see where he's going. Pride stops and focuses on Ed, then I use my alchemy to drain hydrogen from his body, enough to make him weaker. One of his shadows come after me, which I barely dodge under before landing.
"If we're the sacrifices, they can't kill us, but they can mess us up. Be careful, Ed." I look over to him, as he messily throws punches, as I block Prides shadows.
"You're used to fighting people smaller than you, so you're overconfident." I quickly looked over and missing the opportunity to help Ed before he was pierced by Pride's shadows.
Damn it, Ed. I thought before helping him up and out of Pride's shadows. He ran up to Pride.
"Damn you brat! You've forgotten that I was small when I did the fighting... I know exactly how a runt is going to win!" Ed headbutted Pride, causing him to fall and for more of his skin to fall off. I used this chance to throw a spear right through his leg.
"It seems like the time is upon us." I looked over to Father, whose head is gone and more importantly to the giant eye. I then feel myself being grabbed as well as Ed, slowly lifted up to the center of the room above everything. The five of us were thrown back on the ground, still in Fathers clutches to the look at each other before our final destination.
"I'm done with indulging your frivolity, it's time to get to work, my sacrifices."
He paused, before continuing. "It's finally time! This planet of ours, have you ever considered that it might, in fact, be a lifeform? Actually, it would make more sense to refer to it as a vast nervous system. One that remembers every memory since its inception and has seen everything thought the universe unfold. Just think about a massive amount of information one system could hold! But a better question: how much power can one gain if they opened that systems gateway? Have you ever considered that? Think about it." Its one eye opened, and that's when I realized this was it.
"And now that I have you gathered, I can use you as sacrifices to open the planets gateway!"
"That's a pretty good plan pops!" A voice shouted. Greed. I have never been so thankful to see him, but that was good timing. His carbon claws sliced though Father with ease. "Hope you don't mind me using it for myself! This world.... will finally belong to me!!"
Father liquified as he surrounded Greed. "I knew you would make an appearance, I know you too well, my son." The black pool of Father turned into two eyes and a menacing smile. "Have you forgotten you where extracted from my adverous? Anything that you've wanted to desire, I've desired it first."
I feel myself getting dragged, along with the others, still held onto by Father as he sat in the middle. Hoenheim tried to preform his alchemy, but to no avail as Father laughed at his dad attempt.
"The very center of this world... is right here!" He slammed his hand down onto a table, with a paper in the middle. Red alchemy sparks lit up the room, as I felt a slight pain from within.
"Evil bastard!!" Hoenheim exclaimed, I felt something weird, and saw it. First on Hoenheim, then on me.
An eye.
I struggled, as if getting out would fix anything at this point, and that's when I realized
This was it.
I'm going to die.
After 16 years of life, hardships, joy, pain, struggle, all for what? For this? If this didn't happen, where would I be now? Would I be happy? Would I be dead? What if I never completed the transmutation? Never learned alchemy? Where would I have been in five years?
I'd like to imagine I'd be doing something, anything other than this. Be with the one I love, be happy. Have a family, have enough for anything, a world where we can do anything, be anyone, believe in anything. If everything happens for a reason, then what's the reason I'm here?
This shouldn't be the end. It's like, the end of a book, but with the last pages torn out, so it's forever unfinished until you buy a new one.
I guess that's what I'm going to be.
Unfinished.
There's a blast of air, as I feel the familiar hands and close my eyes and just give in. I take a look around me, my friends, my boss, my love, and remember all of the good. As I look down at the necklace from, oh so long ago, and smile.
Everyone who fought for Amestris, willing to give their lives. Gone.
The small town of Rush Valley, and their happy civilians. Gone.
All of the military, that I've walked side to side with. Gone.
Winry, my friend, the one who set me free to run and to live again. Gone.
Chloe, my best friend, the motivator that kept me going and supported me through hell. Gone.
Izumi, the brilliant alchemy teacher. Gone.
Roy Mustang, the man I once despised, yet grew to tease as the years went on. Gone.
My dad, the only family that's left, whom I once hated, and thought was the scum of the earth until one day that we became a family again. Gone.
Ed, the one person who knew what I was going through, and helped me through it all. Gone.
Alphonse, what can I say about you? I... love you, everything you've done, everything you've endured, just for me, all the times we've laughed and cried and fought side by side. The countless hugs, and those small moments that I will forever remember. Gone.
