Nah - I couldn't do the whole tired amnesia, I forgot everyone. Having had a concussion I know that you do have memory issues so I went with what I experienced. I always thought that they writers could have done so much more with the talented cast that they had.

It was more comfortable now that Serkan was in the private room, but Eda could tell that Aydan anne needed to get some sleep. Eda knew she needed sleep but her body wouldn't let her, not until Serkan was awake. The doctors words 'he has a traumatic brain injury and that he may suffer from memory loss' kept running through her head. What if he forgot her, what if he forgot them? Her heart wouldn't let her believe he would forget, he didn't survive a plane crash to forget her.

Eda gently shook Aydan awake, "Adyan anne, go back to the hotel with Leyla. I'll call you when he wakes up okay?"

"What about you kizim?" Aydan cradled Eda's face in her hands, both of them with tears brimming in their eyes.

"My place is here, my home is here. I won't sleep until he wakes so I'll stay here and talk to him like I have been."

They hugged each other and a very tired Aydan left for the hotel, "I will bring you a change of clothes so that you can shower and freshen up after he wakes up."

Eda went around the room and turned down all the lights, she left one light on in the bathroom and turned their music back on. She looked at his face, he looked so young, none of the stresses of the past week, those were replaced by cuts and bruises. She continued to run her fingers over his eyebrows and across his cheekbones and lips.

Eda saw some of her lip gloss on his lips, that was nothing new, he often sported some color of lipstick and started keeping a small mirror and tissues handy after Fikret Bey told him that pink was 'his color'. When he told Eda she thought it was hysterical, she could only imagine how red his ears were. Instead she reached in her purse and pulled out a pot of lip conditioner and carefully rubbed it on her lips, she kissed him to share it and then gently rubbed his lips.

Eda had been leaning on Serkan lightly kissing his lips, holding is right hand when she noticed his fingers moving in hers, she squeezed them lightly and would swear that he squeezed them back.

Eda stood up, running her hand over his forehead, whispering, "Serkan?"

His eyelids only flickered but didn't open. Eda thought about calling the doctor but wanted to wait a little but longer, maybe the hand squeeze didn't happen. Eda still held his hand and kissed him on the forehead, nothing, then kissed him on the lips a squeeze. She repeated it, a kiss to the forehead got nothing but a kiss to the lips got a hand squeeze. She decided to give him a bit more of a kiss and just lightly sucked his top lip, he squeezed her hand harder.

"Serkan Bolat, you never change." she whispered. "How about you work on opening those beautiful eyes so I can see you again?"

Serkan felt like he was being weighted down. He didn't know where he was, he couldn't open his eyes, he had been trying to open them for the longest time. He could feel Eda's hands on his face and smell her perfume but he couldn't open his eyes, he couldn't move either. He felt Eda's hand holding his and felt her kissing him but he couldn't kiss her back.

Why did she want to kiss his forehead? She kissed him on the lips again, that and was more like it, but her hand was moving so he squeezed it. Again with the forehead, why? The lips, Eda. Yes, much better as he squeezed her hand, she was lightly sucking his top lip. Yes, Eda, please don't stop, don't let go of my hand.

He heard her asking him to open his eyes but they were too heavy, she could do it for him maybe or she could keep kissing him. He fell back asleep. Serkan didn't know how long he slept, but this time he was less weighted down, he could actually move his fingers and his eyes could open. Something was wrong with this left hand and Eda had his right hand so he concentrated on actually holding her hand, he loved just holding her hand and opening his eyes.

When Serkan finally got his body to respond to all he wanted it to do he was rewarded with the best sight ever. The love of his life.

"Serkan?"

He tried to talk but his throat was dry. Eda tried to move over to the table to get the ice chips but Serkan had her hand.

"I'm just getting ice chips."

She slipped a couple past his lips, the dry membranes of his mouth soaked them up immediately. She gave him a couple more and he was able to lick his lips, she knew he was dry, so just a few more. He licked his lips again and squeezed her fingers. Eda leaned down to give him another kiss because she couldn't help herself when the sneak lightly sucked her bottom lip.

"Eda"

"Oh Serkan Bolat I have missed you so much!" Eda cried as she buried her face in his neck and shed tears of joy.

A teary Eda stood back up and wiped her tears, she kissed Serkan again and again. He was content with her treatment but she stood back and said that they had to let the doctor know that he was awake.

"How long have I been sleeping? What happened?" Serkan asked.

Eda had pushed the call button and was about to answer Serkan questions when Dr. Horvath entered the room. He introduced himself to Serkan. While he was doing that Eda sent a text to Aydan that Serkan was finally awake.

"I am Dr. Horvath, I am the Director of Trauma Medicine here in Koper. I have been responsible for your care since you were brought to us."

Serkan was confused, "Where am I, since you're speaking English I am guessing that this isn't Rome? Eda? I thought there was a car accident? Ne?"

"Mr. Bolat, what is the last thing that you remember?"

"Eda and I had gotten married and I had to fly to Rome to sign tender papers that Engin and Ferit were given by Erdem that he had just found. I had signed the papers in Rome and had boarded the plane to come home."

"Why do you think that you were in a car accident? And are you having difficulty with the language?"

"I guess that it made more sense than a plane, and Eda is here so I thought that there had been an accident somewhere. No, both Eda and I speak English but before you came in we were speaking Turkish." Serkan reached up with his right hand to his forehead.

"Do you have a headache? Head pain?"

"Yes, my head is throbbing as is the left side of my body and my abdomen. Pretty much my whole body now that I think of it."

"We can start you on pain meds now that you are awake." He nodded to the nurse that came in with him to administer the meds through Serkan's IV and then to set up a pain med pump.

"She is setting up a pain med pump, I recommend that you use that red button, don't try to fight the pain as it will inhibit healing. You can dose every sixty minutes. As far as the rest, you are in Koper, Slovenia. You were in a plane crash. You have a skull fracture, both your left arm and leg are broken and your abdomen is sore as the result of surgery to repair the internal bleeding. You are a very lucky young man in many ways." After saying this Dr. Horvath looked at Eda.

"The memory loss regarding your accident may be temporary, it may not be, often the brain protects itself from trauma of this nature. Time will tell. Later this morning I will send you down for more scans to make sure that there is no more bleeding and that all swelling on the brain has receded. Get some rest."

When Aydan was woken by Eda's text, she flew back to the hospital, she came into the room just as Dr. Horvath was leaving.

Aydan stepped into the room and dropped the bag she was holding, she brought both hands to her mouth, "Serkan?"

She moved to the bed and laid her head on his chest weeping. Eda tried to let go of Serkan's hand so that he could comfort his mother but he refused to let go, instead he leaned his head forward ignoring the pain it caused and kissed the top of her head. She stood up and dried her tears as best she could and cupped her hand on Serkan's cheek.

"We never gave up. Eda wouldn't give up, so she gave me the strength to not give up. I am just so happy right now." A fresh flood of tears hit Aydan.

Eda reached across the bed with her left arm and hugged Aydan to her, the two women who never gave up hope that Serkan would be returned were rewarded.

"What day is it? And why am I am Slovenia?"

Eda explained to him, "You went to Italy on the 27th and the plane crashed that afternoon, we didn't get word that you were here until early hours on the 1st. We came as soon as we could, today is the 2nd, I think, I'm losing days to be honest. As far as why you are here, we don't know."

"No, really, how did I end up in Slovenia? It's nowhere near Rome."

"No one can answer that. You were the only survivor from the crash Serkan." Eda didn't want to tell him this so soon but there was no way around it.

"I had never flown with that flight crew before, the only one that introduced themselves was the flight attendant, Daimla. Usually I fly with a crew that I know."

That was odd. Eda sent off a text to Dr. Horvath 'Did you take blood from Serkan pre-surgery? If so can you test for any sedatives?' She waited for his response. 'yes' and 'yes'. Just another question to add to her very long list.

"Aydan anne, I know that I just woke you up but do you want to go back to the hotel to sleep? I am going to shower and then stay here. We can let everyone know later that Serkan has woken up okay?"

"Edacim, you take your shower, I'll leave as soon as you are done."

Eda leaned over to kiss Serkan, and moved to go to the shower, "Serkan, you have to let go of my hand, I'll be right back."

He reluctantly let go of her hand and watched her go.

"You know, she never gave up hope. Her faith in you gave me strength. She said she felt your soul and your heart beating." Aydan wiped some tears. "When we got here Dr. Horvath thought that you would live another hour so I sent Edacim in, he came up to me and told me that your heart started beating again once she was in there with you."

"I watched her with you. If anyone ever doubted that soulmates or true love existed, they only had to watch her. I thank God for sending her to you everyday son, every day."

"Me too. I never knew what love was until I met her, she never really changed me, she just let me be me. We both see each other warts and all and it doesn't matter, she is the perfect one for me. I will love her until the end of my days and beyond." Serkan turned towards the bathroom door waiting for Eda to finish.

"Probably not the honeymoon that you were hoping for is it son?" Aydan joked with Serkan.

It wasn't, but he was alive and he was with Eda and that was okay. Eda came out of the bathroom a short time later freshly showered and let out a huge yawn. Aydan took that as her queue to head back to the hotel.

"Leyla and I will be back in the morning. We will start figuring things out then. Not early morning, some of us need to catch up on sleep!" Aydan came over and kissed Serkan, she kissed Eda and left.

He smiled at her, "Alone at last my bride. Climb up here, just be careful, I'm kind of a mess."

"I don't want to hurt you."

"It would hurt more if you were sleeping over on that stupid chair, hadi."

Eda gingerly climbed onto the hospital bed with Serkan, he held his right arm up so that she could come under it and he could hold her. She used the spare blanket to cover herself and Serkan.

"Is this okay?"

"mmhmm"

"They shaved your chest hair, I miss it." She turned and kissed his chest and then turned her face up to kiss his lips. They sighed into each other's mouths, kissing lazily, tasting and touching.

Serkan gave her one last kiss and put his hand in her hair, running his fingers through the silk damp strands, "Sleep."

Eda was way ahead of him, she was sound asleep. She always slept best when she was home and he was her home.
