GOODBYE
20th September 2020

Alaïa held Kian's hand tightly, she had a few tears rolling down her cheek as she walked him to his gate at the airport. She didn't want to say goodbye.

Kian let out a deep shaky breath, he bounced up and down on his heels as he shook his hands, as if it would stop his anxiety. But he knew it wouldn't, not even the classical music was helping this time.

"So, this is it?" Alaïa whispered as she grabbed his hands, linking them together and looking up at the boy.

Kian nodded slowly. He hated that he had to get on that plane and leave for back home. He hated that Alaïa couldn't come with him to LA again. He understood that she couldn't have any more time off work, but it still hurt that he was separating from her.

"I'm gonna miss you." Alaïa said trying her hardest to hold back a sob. Over the past two months the pair had become incredibly close.

Kian rested his head against Alaïa's and closed his eyes. He just wanted to enjoy their last moments together.

"I'm going to miss you so much." He whispered, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"This isn't over is it?" Alaïa questioned hesitantly. "Like we're weren't just a summer fling kind of thing?"

Kian pulled away from the girl and cupped her face.

"No, God no." He shook his head. "God I love you so fucking much."

Alaïa couldn't help but smile. She was so scared that her and Kian would be over the second that he arrived back in LA.

"I love you t-" Alaïa was cut off by the intercoms saying that Kian's flight was ready for departure shortly. "Go, you don't want to miss you're flight."

"What if I do?" Kian questioned with a small heartbroken chuckle.

"You can't. As much as I want you to stay, Jc needs you home. Your fans will only hate me more if I kept videos from them." Alaïa whispered softly.

She wished Kian could stay. She wished that it didn't have to be like this, but for now, it did.

Kian connected his lips with the girl, they moved slowly, taking in every second of the kiss.

His hands pulled her into his chest firmly, whilst her fingers made their ways to the end of his hair.

He was going to miss her so much. He didn't understand how he was going to even function without the girl.

He'd miss waking up next to her in a morning. He'd miss eating meals with her morning, noon and night. He'd miss game nights with her and the twins. He'd miss their cuddles and their kisses.

He'd miss everything.

Alaïa pulled away first and bit her bottom lip, she didn't want to say it but she knew she'd had to,

"Go, get on your flight."

"I love you." He whispered.

"I love you." Alaïa's eyes were bright red from all the crying. Her heart felt like it was shattering into a million different pieces. "Let me know when you've landed safely."

Kian nodded and slowly walked away from the girl, he didn't let go of her hand until the very last second.

Lono and Lani both walked up to Alaïa once Kian had joined the queue for the plane. Lono wrapped his arms around his sisters shoulders and pulled her into his chest. He'd never seen his sister so upset. The sight hurt him.

Alaïa watched as Kian disappeared around the corner and blared the plane.

"Let's get you home." Lono whispered as he guided his sister away from the gate and back towards the car. "So you can get some rest before he lands."

Alaïa nodded at the idea, it was probably smart. Her and Kian were up all night talking and crying. Neither of them wanted to say goodbye. So, they spent every moment they could with each other until the end.
