"Alicia! Angelica! Hold up!" Eabha yelled after her best friends. Both girls turned around and smiled.
"What took you so long? Class ended like ten minutes ago." Angelica said, Alicia agreeing. Eabha crouched in front of them, catching her breath. Alicia patted her back.
"Running is hard." she said sarcastically. Eabha giggled and stood straight.
"We got a problem. I big one." she said and guided the girls to a more private place, an empty classroom.
As the door closed, Eabha leaned on it. She took a deep breath.
"George just asked me out!" she almost yelled. Angelicas and Alicia's jaws dropped. They both started asking instantly.
"What did you say? You like Fred, don't you?!" Angelica's last question popped out. Eabha stared at the floor, rubbing her arm. The room was silent for a few seconds.
"YOU SAID YES, DIDN'T YOU!" Alicia screamed. Eabha covered her mouth with her hands.
"Yes, I did! No need to yell." Alicia licked Eabha's hand.
"Ew!" Eabha said and pulled her hands back, rubbing them on her cloak. "What was I supposed to say? He was so nervous n' all. Plus he's my friend, how could I say no?"
"But what about Fred?" Angelica asked. Eabha looked around the room, as if looking for answers. Then she sighed.
"It's not like he likes me anyway..." she almost whispered. The room was, once again, silent.
"How would we know anyway? But let's go, we'll be late for our classes." Angelica said, careful not to bum you out anymore. You swiftly exited the class.
-Time skip ○ Date time! ○ The next day-
"Eabha, hurry up! They're leaving." Alicia yelled out to her. She was stalling in the bathroom. Eabha opened the door, slowly. Alicia ripped it open.
"You look fine, let's go." She said and they ran out. Eabha didn't lock herself in the bathroom because she thought that she looked bad. She was just really worried about the outcome of this date.
Of course she liked George, but not like that. She liked George as more of a brother. There just was something special about Fred. Eabha wasn't sure what it was, but it took a hold on her.
As they were heading towards Hogsmead, Eabha was talking to her best friends.
"What if its really awkward!? What if he tries to kiss me? I don't know what to do..." she vented out to her friends. They both just kept silent.
"Answer me!" Eabha shook her friends shoulders.
"Okay, okay! But what exactly do you expect us to say?" Angelica asked her.
"I don't know..." Eabha shook her head. Angelica and Alicia looked at their friend sadly.
"It'll go just fine! Don't worry. And if it gets too weird to you, just say you got to go." Alicia said. Angelica nodded and said:
"Alicia's right. But won't you look at that, we're here. You'll do fine." she patted Eabha on her shoulder.
"Yeah, we'll see you later!" Alicia said and hugged her. Eabha waved at her friends as they walked away. She took a deep breath and fixed her posture. She started walking towards Madam Rosmerta's.
She looked inside the big windows of the small bar. She saw George sitting at the corner table, next to the window. When he saw her he waved happily. Eabha waved back and smiled. As nervous as she was, she couldn't help but smile at how happy George was.
Eabha stepped inside and was greeted with a warm hug. She hugged George back.
"Hey, hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long!" Eabha said. George shook his head.
"No, you didn't. I just parted ways with Fred and came here. Eabha felt her stomach flip at the mention of Fred.
"Oh, does Fred know that we're... on a... date?" she asked, pausing a bit before saying 'date'. George shook his head once again.
"He doesn't actually. I just said that I'm meeting someone and he didn't question it." Eabha felt a bit sad and guilty that Fred didn't know about their date, but what would he care, right, she though.
"Oh, well, shall we go?" Eabha suggested. The plan was to just shop and then go for a butterbeer afterwards.
- Amazing short montage! -
George and Eabha had a lot more fun than Eabha had thought that they would've. Of course she knew that it was going to be a nice time, we're talking about George Weasley here. She just thought that it would be a lot more awkward.
But surprisingly to her and not surprisingly to everybody else they had a great time. They went shopping, both clothes and candy and other stuff. Then they went to admire the Shrieking Shack, though neither of them dared to go in.
Now they are sitting in Madam Rosmerta's.
"Would you like something? I'll pay!" George said.
"Oh, well, I'd like a butterbeer." Eabha said and smiled sweetly. George nodded and went to order. Eabha sat at the same table as George sat a few hours ago.
Eabha looked around her. The bar wasn't that big, but it wasn't small either. There were some other people around, drinking their own drinks. Then someone tapped her on her shoulder. Eabha jumped a little.
"Whoa, nelly! I didn't mean to scare you." Fred said. Eabha smiled shyly.
"Yeah, haha. I was just daydreaming." she said and corrected her sitting pose.
"What are you doing here, all alone?" Fred asked her. And just like on cue, George came with two butterbeers.
"Oh, hey Freddie." George smiled. Fred's face fell when George walked in.
"G-George... Eabha was your date? Why didn't you tell me?" Fred asked, fidgeting his hands.
"You didn't ask, so I didn't tell. I thought you didn't care." George said. Fred seemed pissed off at first, but then calmly said.
"Oh, well, have fun." and then he walked away, the bar's door banging. Eabha and George sat quiet for a few seconds.
"D-did we upset him...?" Eabha asked. George shook his head.
"Maybe he's jealous." he joked and laughed. Eabha's stomach dropped. Jealous? He wouldn't be. Or would he?
"Yeah, haha..." Eabha laughed. Or at least tried to, but it came out as a small huff. George looked at her weirdly.
"Are you okay? You seem a bit off." George asked, looking worried.
"N-no, it's just Fred. He seemed so mad." she answered.
"I'll talk to him later, okay. Lets drink up so we can go." He said.
- Time skip back to Hogwarts -
"Eabha! How'd it go?" Alicia asked right as Eabha opened the girls dorm room. Eabha plopped down on her bed and screamed in to her pillow. Alicia sat cross legged on her own bed, which was just beside Eabha's.
"Soo... bad?" she asked, tilting her head making her hair fall in front of her face. Eabha sat up and said:
"No! That's the problem. He was so nice, which I already knew, but also so sweet. I had a great time!" and put her head into her hands.
"What's the problem then? Isn't that awesome?" Alicia asked and straightened her legs. Eabha lifted her shoulder.
"It should be, right? But I still like Fred and I'm not going to use George as an replacement. That would be just mean." Eabha said and shook her head. Alicia nodded accepting her thoughts. Right at that moment Angelica barged in.
"Eabha, your chosen brother wants to talk to you." she said and gestured the door. Eabha stood up and stroked her skirt. She took a deep breath, knowing well what this was about. Her brother, Harry Potter, is pretty protective over her, even though she is older than him. She was so grateful that she was his sister, but brothers could really be annoying. Especially with Harry, the chosen one.
Eabha walked down the stairs just to be greeted by Harry looking grumpy. Eabha smiled at him happily.
"Hey, Harry. You wanted to talk to me?" she said. Harry smiled at her, not being able to be grumpy at her. She was always so happy and giddy.
"I was just... ugh, we're you on a date with George?" he asked bluntly. Eabha swifted her feet, her face turning red.
"Well, yes I was. Why do you ask?" she said calmly.
"I thought you liked Fred?!" he practically shouted. Eabha instantly started to shush him. "I'm sorry. But what's your plan here? And you know they can be really ruthless and all. I reckon you don't want your heart broken." he continued, now in a quieter voice. Eabha took a more defensive stand at his words.
"Yes, Harry, I like Fred, but what was I supposed to do? I couldn't turn him down." Eabha said. She knew that she could tell Harry anything and he wouldn't tell anyone. Well, not intentionally at least.
"But what about Fred?" Harry asked her. Eabha thought really hard.
"I will figure something out, don't worry." Eabha said and patted his shoulder. "And neither of them would never hurt me. Never." she added as she walked back to girls dorm.
Back in her room she lied down on her bed again. Alicia and Angelica both sat down on the end of her Eabha's bed.
"So, what'd he have to say?" Alicia asked. Eabha shortly explained the conversation between her and Harry. While she was at it, she explained the little incident with Fred at the end of the date. The girls sat quietly, listening. When she finished talking the girls instantly started sharing their thoughts, at the same time.
"Girls, one at a time! Angelica?" Eabha said. Angelica started.
"I mean, Harry's kind of right, you know? Fred was clearly jealous, and if that means that both of them like you, I don't think that would fight about a girl. I don't really see a good ending in this..." she said. Eabha took in everything that she said. She that there was some truth in her words.
Eabha hummed. "I know. Alicia?"
"Well, I think there really is something there, between you and Fred. I don't think that George knows that Fred likes you. If he knew I think that he would 'give up'. They respect each other. The worst case scenario is that they would get mad at each other over you. But that is also the least likely one." Alicia explained. She finished with: "I think you should talk to them." in which Angelica nodded, agreeing.
"I will. But let's go to sleep. I'll sleep on it." Eabha said. Alicia and Angelica both nodded, went to their own beds and said their good-nights.
- the next day -
Eabha sat at breakfast, waiting for the Weasley twins to come. She had been waiting for a few minutes, when Fred barged in. Eabha smiled at him. Fred sent a weak smile back at her, which worries Eabha. Fred sat in front of her.
"Morning, sunshine." Eabha said, trying to ease the tension. Fred chuckled. "Hey, I need to talk to you and George. By the way, where is he?"
Fred swifted in his seat a little bit. "Well, we had a small fight. But anyway, where do you want to talk?" he asked her.
Eabha felt awful, knowing that she was the cause of their fighting. She knew without Fred having to name it.
"In the Room of Requirements. In ten minutes. Please tell him." she said, patted his shoulder and left the Great Hall.
- ten minute skip -
Eabha sat in the ROR, alone. She was waiting for the Weasley Twins to show up. They were five minutes late, then suddenly they both barged though the door. Clearly pissed off. Eabha smiled at them both.
"Hey, you two." she stood up. Fred and George both smiled at her sweetly. She gestured for the boys to sit down, which they did.
"What is it, Eabha?" George asked her. Eabha took a deep breath, ready to rant.
"Okay, I'm just going to be blunt about this. Fred and George, I like both of you a lot. You are so close to me that 'choosing' between the two of you is very heartbreaking. But I hate to see you two fighting because of me. George, I'm so sorry, but I like Fred. Our date was amazing, but Fred is the one... it hurts me to say that, but I don't want to give you false hope. I hope your not mad at me. And Fred, I just kinda assumed that you like me, but I do understand if you don't. I knew you were fighting about me and I don't want you two to be mad at each other... so that's all..." she finished her little talk.
Fred and George were both scarlet red. Eabha sat down in the middle of the two of them. Then George suddenly said:
"I'm such an idiot... Fred, I'm so sorry. I should have know. I shouldn't have asked you out, Eabha. I'm so sorry." he said with his face in his hands. Eabha patted him on his shoulder.
"It's okay... I think." Eabha said, really not sure about what to say.
"Fred, can you forgive me?" George asked. Or more like pleaded. Fred shot a look at George.
"Of course! And I should have told you, obviously. We share everything. It was foolish of me to keep a secret like that." he said and got up. George got up as well. Eabha remained sitting down, not wanting to ruin the brotherly moment between them.
"So, are we okay?" George asked. Fred nodded. Instantly they went for a man-hug. Eabha squealed happily and clapped quietly. The twins separated and looked at Eabha funny. Her face turned a bit red and she stood up too.
"Well, I think that you too have some discussing to do!" George said. Fred instantly had an answer.
"I don't think we have. I like her and she likes me. Bloody simple if you ask me." he said and winked at Eabha. Eabha giggled.
"Yeah, I'm with Fred. We already know each other through and through and are already comfortable around each other. What's there to discuss?" she said and linked arms with Fred. Fred gave Eabha a kiss on her cheek. Eabha once again giggled.
"Ew, couple stuff." George said and mimicked vomiting. Fred and Eabha both laughed as they left the Room of Requirements.
