Sunday April 17th 2022: Easter

DJ sat on Dominik’s lap clad in a teal Mr. Steal your eggs onesie with brown pants and classic vans. On his head was a black cap with bunny ears. They had a fun day coloring eggs, making graham cracker houses for the peeps, Dominik read the boy Easter books, and he watched his father cook with Zelina and Bianca. He was happy to be their taster, charming the women into giving him extra samples.

Now hazel eyes were scanning the table filled with food.

“Pa-Pa!” He said pointing to the green beans.

“Papito you gotta wait for everyone to come to the table.”

The boy pouted head resting on Dom's shoulder, the soft fabric of his teal polo soothing him. DJ rubbed his cheek against it then looked back up at his father. Dominik smiled kissing his forehead just as the others finally entered the dining room.

Zelena was wearing a beige romper and white shoes. Bianca had on a two piece hot pink suit paired with a white shirt. Montez matched his button down to her blazer, tucked into crisp navy blue pants held up by a brown belt. D'Angelo matched his friends, the only difference being that he was wearing brown loafers while Montez was wearing black ones.

They sat down, Zelina walking over to play with DJ's cheeks. He smiled, hands slapping his thighs before he laughed.

“God he's so cute.” Bianca cooed.

“Thank you.” Dominik chuckled, kissing his son.

Liv skipped to the table in a pair of black and white track pants and a tank top. Sonya followed, wearing black jeans and a polo. Austin looked dapper in his short sleeved army green button down tucked into pressed khaki pants. Matt had on a black shirt with a technicolor weed leaf and ripped blue jeans. Damian and Finn were matching Dominik; Both wearing teal polos and khaki pants with classic vans. Rhea was the last to come out wearing a short teal romper and vans.

DJ got excited seeing her, bouncing on Dominik’s lap and reaching out.

“Hey Papito.” She greeted before taking him and sitting beside Dom.

DJ kissed her cheek and hugged her tight  before turning to the food to point at the green beans.

“Boy I already told you to wait.” Dominik grumbled.

DJ groaned in annoyance then looked at Rhea.

“Papi said wait.”

He pouted causing everyone to laugh.

“Ok, who wants to say an Easter prayer?” Dominik asked

“I got you bro. May this meal be blessed as we gather to celebrate together. Amen.” Damian said.

“Amen.” Everyone repeated.

Dominik grabbed a green bean for DJ before making a plate for himself and Rhea. The baby put it into his mouth, using his four front teeth to nibble at it.

“Thank you Dominik, Bianca, and Zelina. Yall really put your foot in this.” D’Angelo praised.

“Thank you.” Dominik chuckled while giving DJ a piece of the brown sugar ham.

He ate it with a smile then opened his mouth for something else. Dominik gave him a piece of honey glazed carrot.

“You know I always put my foot in whatever I cook.” Bianca stated.

“It’s my pleasure, I love cooking.” Zelina added.

“So, what’s the plan after dinner?” Damian asked.

“Easter movie marathon then bed time for DJ.” Dom replied.

“There are Easter movies?” Matt questioned.

“Oh yeah. It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, Bugs Bunny's Easter Funnies, VeggieTales: Twas the Night Before Easter, Dora's Easter adventure, Alvin & the Chipmunks: Easter Collection, VeggieTales: An Easter Carol, there’s a Peppa Pig Easter movie, Max and Ruby also have an Easter collection, Peter Rabbit one and two, oh and Wubbzy's Egg-cellent Easter. Then when he goes to bed I’m gunna watch some Easter horror movies.” Dominik stated with a bright smile as he continued to feed his son.

“Easter horror movies?” Montez questioned looking from his wife to his best friend, all three perplexed.

“Bro who hurt you as a child?” Damian questioned, earning an elbow from Finn.

“I should really introduce you to Alistair.” Zelina chuckled with a shake of her head.

Ignoring Damian and Zelina, Dominik looked at Montez with a bright smile.

“Oh yeah there are loads. Easter Holocaust, The Night Before Easter, Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill!, Serial Rabbit 1, 3, and 5, Kottontail, Easter Bunny Bloodbath, Bunnyman, Easter Casket, Easter Sunday, and my personal favorite Beaster Day: Hare Comes Peter Cottonhell.”

“I love you.” Liv stated with a bright smile.

“Me too.” Austin agreed.

“Diddo bro……you want some eddies before we watch it….or like hot box the RV?” Matt offered.

“Hell yeah.” Dominik agreed causing everyone to laugh.

“I'm still stuck on Easter Holocaust.” Bianca muttered, eyes blinking rapidly.

Finn damn near choked on his cider, while DJ just smiled. Sonya, Rhea, and Zelina burst out laughing causing the baby to do the same.

“Tonight is gunna be lit.” Liv cheered.

Rhea chuckled before sipping her large glass of wine. Nails lightly scratching the center of his back, in a tight circle. Dominik glanced over, meeting her adoring gaze, and smiled.
