You awoke to a classroom. You were lying on the floor. Above you stood two blurry figures. Your ears were ringing. As your vision focused, you could see one figure removing a creepy mask with a toothy grin. The other stood above you with a worried look.

"Y/N, are you ok? Please be ok. This is all my fault." One figure repeated. Sounding high-strung and skittish.

The next was almost silent, releasing a long sullen breath. 

You opened your eyes completely, lying silently staring at the two. It was Kaneki and Uzumaku. You continued lying there confused, trying to figure out what happened before speaking. Both of their eyes widened, begging you to say something.

"What happened?" You said in a hoarse voice. They stared silently. The silence was quickly interrupted by loud sirens.

"Shit. Let's go." Kaneki urged.

You tried getting onto your feet before your knees caved. Kaneki threw you over his shoulders and began to run. Uzumaku followed behind. Your body felt weak and tired in Kaneki's arms. You awoke to the view of rooftops and half-light. Your eyes were heavy as the call of slumber crept up on you. 

The feeling of cold concrete on your back jolted you awake. Though you could feel a sense of tiredness in your bones. You sat up. The smell of fire burned your nostrils, and the sound of distant fire trucks rang in your ears. You could see Kaneki staring off the ledge of the roof you were on. You stood up to join him.

The sight of what was below sent shock throughout your body. You felt sick to your stomach.

The sanctuary was on fire.
