I was glad that work was a little slow today. I had a lot on my mind and really needed to sort it out a little before I met up with Holden. Harvey had text me this morning wanting to talk and asked if he would come by my work. I told him know and said that I thought it was best that we didn't talk right now. He was begging so I had a feeling he would show up some time today and I really didn't want to see him. I really hope he didn't show up when Holden did. My gut is telling me he want's me to tell Holden I am okay with them dating but I'm not and I will not lie about it.

I closed up and headed out to my truck neither Holden or Harvey showed up so I was ready to go home.

"Hey, good I caught you before you left." Harvey said running up to me.

"I told you I didn't want to talk." I said not turning to look at him.

"I know I'm sorry but I really wanted to talk to you." He said.

"Why, you said everything that needed to said last night and then your date showed up to hammer the last nail in the hope and love I had. What are you going to do now rub it in tell me about Holden? I don't want to hear it. I am good without knowing." i said.

"I am sorry about that. I didn't think he would show up early like that. I didn't want you to find out like that." He said.

"Oh so you wanted me to see it at school or around town where you wouldn't have to track me down and explain or where your date wouldn't have seen? You cheated on me. Even though you might not have gone out with him until after we broke up you still cheated by making plans for the date and talking about one before we broke up." I said.

"To me we broke up weeks ago." He said.

"Well we didn't until last night. How long have you been talking to Holden and is Holden the only one you have been talking to? Or have you been doing this for a while?" I asked.

"I met Holden right after they moved here last week. We started talking his first day here actually. Before that nobody really just some people on the Florida State website. I joined a few chat rooms and made a few friends." He said looking down at the ground.

"I don't know what to even say to you. I mean we were together for three years and I don't even feel like I know you anymore. I don't know what happened but whatever it is have fun with it. I don't want to talk to you or see you again. Good luck in life Harvey I hope you get everything you ever want." I said opening my door.

"Luc, can you do me a favor? I really need you to do something for me." He said.

"I am not doing anything for you." I said.

"Only two things. One I want you to take care of yourself and two can you talk to Holden for me and tell him that your okay with us dating?" He said.

"Fuck off, Harvey." I said shutting my door.

"Even if he did talk to me, I wouldn't date you ever." Holden said coming out of nowhere.

"Could you just talk to me?" Harvey almost begged Holden.

"No, you lied to me and told me you were single. You had a boyfriend of three years. I am not going to be with someone who does that kind of shit. So I hope I am not the reason you broke up with Lucas because now you lost both of us." Holden said.

"It wasn't the only reason. We are too different. And I want to go away to school." Harvey said.

"It really doesn't matter. If you really wanted to date me you would have been single and not pretending to be. You cheated on him and that pisses me off because you made me the other person without me knowing." Holden said sounding pissed.

"To me we were broke up." Harvey said.

"Just because you say you felt like you were broken up doesn't make it real until the other person knows that you are. That is like me saying that Kellan Lutz is my boyfriend, he just doesn't know it yet. So this is me telling you. Stop calling me. Stop texting me. Stop emailing me. I don't want anything, and I mean anything to do with you." Holden said almost making me laugh.

"If you change your mind call me." Harvey said. He looked at me like I was the reason for all of this I just flipped him off and started my truck. 

"Wait for me." Holden said getting in my truck. "I walked here because Brook has the car tonight so I need a ride home and we need to talk." He said putting on his seat belt.

"Okay, well I am hungry so do you mind if we get something to eat?" I asked.

"Nope, starving." he said smiling at me.

I drove to the diner figuring that we could talk while we ate. Plus I hadn't eaten all day and could really go for one of their steaks. Holden didn't say anything the whole drive he just looked out the window. I parked the truck and we both got out and walked in. I went to the booth I usually sat at and took a seat and Holden sat across from me. After we both ordered and got our drinks we kind of just looked at each other.

"Who gave you the black eye?" He finally asked.

"My brother." I said smiling at him.

"Nice brother you have do I know him?" He asked.

"Landon Lakes." I said.

"He's actually one of my friends, I didn't know you were his brother." He said looking at me weird.

"He is part of my triplet group. Have you met our sister Lacey?" I asked.

"She is friends with Brook. I thought they were twins." He said.

"We get that a lot. They would have been if I wasn't in the womb with them." I said chuckling.

"Yeah, because honestly you look nothing like them." He said laughing.

"I get that a lot." I said.

"So triplets, wow." He said shaking his head.

"I am nothing like my brother or sister and the only things we have in common is our birthday and our parents. I can honestly say I really don't know them." I said looking out the window. Holden's phone started ringing and he silenced it. Then mine started ringing. The only one who had my number was Harvey. I silenced it and then turned it off.

"Brook and I have a lot in common and we do a lot of things together." He said smiling.

"We did but that was a long time ago. Lacey and I have just started talking again. Today actually." I said thinking about this morning.

"Why"

"Well from what I found out today, our mom blames me for my dad leaving and she told my brother and sister is was all my fault so they have torchered me for the last nine years or so. But Lacey found out she lied about everything and there was a huge fight at the house this morning before I left for work. I have no idea what I am even going home to when i do go home." I said frowning.

"Sounds like one fucked up family if you asked me." He said frowning also.

"Yeah, I don't feel like a part of it so they can keep all the crazy to themselves. Lacey actually wants to do something Monday instead of going to school. Last time I trusted her like that I got the shit beat out of me." I said.

"I am not sure I am liking your family anymore." He said looking out the window.

"I only have a year and I am out of here." I said.

"Where you going?" He asked.

"I was going to Florida but that kind of changed last night." I said with a sigh.

"Look about Harvey, I am really sorry about that. I honestly didn't know he had a boyfriend let alone a boyfriend of three years. I would have never agreed to go out with him. I just thought it would be a good way to get to know people around here. He seemed really nice and I figured why not." He said sounding sad.

"Look, I know you didn't do anything to hurt me. Harvey has been acting weird for a couple of weeks now. I just think he was waiting for the next thing to come along and that happened to be you.  If I really think about it we have been drifting apart for awhile. I just thought it was because we didn't have much time to spend together but I think I was more of a convenience to him then anything. There isn't many openly gay guys at our school. Are you even openly gay?" I asked.

"Yes and No. My facebook status says I am gay but I don't go announcing it to the world. Well I guess I do but you know what I mean. Harvey was hitting on me and that became a little joke between us. I didn't understand how he knew but he said it was his gaydar." He said shaking his head agian.

"Like I said I don't blame you. I now believe first loves never last." I said chuckling so I wouldn't cry.

"I believe that. My first love lasted a little over a year and then we just broke up. I don't really know what happened but it was over." He said smiling at me.

"So I will live?" I asked smiling back at him.

"You will live." He said right as the food came.

We ate with little talk. I was really too hungry to even  talk. For some reason the food was three times better this time then it had ever been. I think I caught myself moaning when I took a couple of bites.

"Do you always ever like that?" He asked with a smirk.

"I haven't ate today, sorry." I said turning red.

"Oh no, see I like it." He said making my tummy drop. He had a beautiful smile. I mentally shook myself. I have just got out of a long term relationship and I was still in love with Harvey. But we could be friends. That would be just fine with me.

"So, friends?" I asked smiling at him.

"Friends" He said with a wink.

"So do my brother and sister no your gay? They asked me who Harvey was trying to date when we broke up and I won't tell them because I don't know who you want to know." I said feeling stupid for even asking.

"They are both friends with me on facebook and I am sure after the post I made today they will know it was me. Like I said I may not go around telling people I met that I am gay but I don't hide it." He said. 

"That's cool, so what do you plan on doing when you graduate?" I asked changing the subject.

"I really want to go away for college but I don't know where. Brook is going to Florida like Harvey and that is one of the things I like about him." He said.

"Yeah, I have my hope set on Florida myself. And I guess after a year of being apart from him I will be okay with seeing him again." I said with a shrug.

"Then I say we go and show him what he is missing. You and me." He said laughing.

"Deal" I said laughing. It felt good to laugh. 

We talked until the waitress brought us our bill and we both paid out our share and split the tip. I like that. I drove Holden home who only lived three blocks away from me and one block away from Harvey. We had to pass his house to get to Holden's neither of us looked his way when we passed but I will admit to looking when I passed back by on my way home. His bedroom light was on and I thought I saw him sitting at his desk in front of his computer. Oh well.

When I got home I was a little nervous walking up to the door but I did it anyways. It was after midnight so I hoped everyone was sleeping. The door was unlocked so I looked back at the drive and noticed that moms car was gone and so was Lacey's. That meant that either Landon was home or he was with Lacey or one of his friends. I am hoping for the latter.

"Where have you been?" Landon asked when I walked in the door.

"I had dinner with Holden Fletcher." I said walking into the kitchen for a glass of water. My food was still in my room so I stuck with water.

"Are you dating Holden?" He asked.

"No, just friends." I said taking a sip of my water.

"Cool" He said before leaving the room.

I stayed down in the kitchen until I finished my water. I washed my glass and put it away. I didn't want anyone saying that I made messes around here. I needed to invest in a mini fridge for my room. I did take a bottle of water out of the fridge because I was really thirsty. I debated on leaving a dollar or not. I didn't.
