The colored smoke around Zim and Dib cleared, revealing them to no longer be in that brightly colored other world anymore; instead, they were right where they had their first meeting: that moonlit forest.
It was a cold night--there was snow across the floor, the trees were spread just enough to present the soft light from the reflective moon, and the air stung at Dib's warm cheeks like mini needles. Dib took a deep breath, just happy to be in his own world again. Zim, on the other hand, seemed ecstatic.
Zim was laughing and twirling; the tails of his sliced suit flowing along and following every step he took. He carefully took Dib's shaking hands, twirling with him and dancing along. Zim released his husband, swaying and falling against a tree root--leg snapping off. "Brilliant," a voice from inside his head spoke sarcasm; literally! A rabbit's ear twitched out from a hole in the side of ZiM's head. Zim has to push it back in before Dib could notice.
Dib didn't have time to notice, since he was staring at Zim's detached leg with disgust. "Uh...you... alright there?"
"Happens all the time..!" Zim stuck it back into place, standing up. He sighed. "Ah... the moon is so lovely. It's so nice to see it again, I could swear I was breathing once more!" He twirled again. "You know, I always wished to go to space... with my brother... is that crazy? Enough to land me in a psych ward?" He giggled. "I always hoped not... but! I always hoped to get married while living... and I guess that was crazy of me, wasn't it?" He swayed. "Though, I'm incredibly happy to meet you...and now, your family! Shall we be going?" Zim straightened up, bouncing a bit.
"My family..?" Dib's big head seemed rather empty. "Oh! Of course! Well, uh... first things first. I should probably... go warn them before anything else. They don't exactly know I'm married, and they certainly don't know it's to...uh... someone of your stature. You know?"
"Ah, right... well then, I'll wait right here! I've grown accustomed to doing that!" Zim gave a sad laugh.
"Alright, then! I'll be back when I'm ready!" And with that, Dib immediately ran off.
But not to get his father.
He decided to go immediately to find his sister, honestly hoping she wouldn't be with Tak.
Zim, of course, was completely oblivious.
He simply sat on a fallen tree, swinging his legs and humming to himself.
"Your boyfriend seems to run from you more than one should..." a voice from inside his skull whispered.
"He's not my boyfriend... he's my husband," Zim said. "And besides..! He's sure to come back... no one leaves Zim. Uh, forever."
The severed rabbit's head fell from Zim's head, floating next to him. "Why must I end up with confused ones..." it "looked" (as much as it can) at Zim. "You like this boy?"
"More than anything." Zim nodded assuringly.

"Well, I do not wish to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems I must... I don't think he is worth your time. While he did wake you, he doesn't return your feelings--you will get hurt before you will be happy."
Zim just stared at it, then laughed. "No, no! You've got it all wrong, Bunny... the Dib cares for Zim! Why else would he marry me?" He paused. "And he is coming back."
The head sighed, then shifted over to the snow to reveal Dib's bootprints. "Then let's see if your groom really got cold feet then, shall we?"
Dib grabbed hold of a freezing stone of Miyuki's mansion, trying to get his legs to do the same. He made every attempt possible to make the climb to the room his sister was staying in, trying not to be seen. He slipped a bit from frost, but eventually found a window ledge. The air grabbed at his face, making it go nearly numb. He felt his fingers might break off, but he wasn't going to let that stop him.
He was going to see his sister.
Dib looked through the window; only to quickly duck back down, since all the adults were walking in that room. He firmly pressed his icy back against the frozen wall, trying to catch his breath and strength. "Okay.. okay. Just... get past them," he thought to himself, pulling himself past the window.
Finally, after eons, he got to the correct window... which was closed.
Panicked once again, he banged a fist against the wood, hoping his sister would open the blinds and let him in.
And she did.
"Wah--Dib?!" She pulled him in.
"GAZ!" Dib hugged his sister tight, not even realizing how much he was shivering.
"The Hell, Dib--Dib, where have you been?! People have been out looking for you, they said you left with some woman... dear lord, you're deathly cold... what's wrong with you?!"
Dib grabbed himself, trying to stop the shivering. "W-well, Gaz... I'm.. in a bit of trouble."
"And? When's that new?"
"No! Real trouble... you see, I've seen to have... found myself, well... married."
Gaz stared at her brother, then burst out laughing. "Yeah, right... fun jest, Dib."
"No..! It's true! I-I said my vows, and I seem to have married a... dead man." Dib held out his hand with the wedding band.
"Uh-huh... Dib, come by the fire. You're just having delusions from the cold..."
"Is that my ring?!" Tak took Dib's hand, examining. This was the exact moment Dib noticed Tak was here the whole time.
"God, you're here..." he sat down, putting his head in his hands. "I just want this to end..! You don't get it... being forcefully married... and to another man, no less! It's just... unheard of!"
Gaz and Tak exchanged glances.
"I mean... even if I did like him, it wouldn't be allowed, would it..?" He paused. "And... he's dead."
Gaz sighed, sitting across from him. "Look, I don't know what's happening, but--oh, come sit over here..." Gaz exchanged seats with him, facing Dib towards the window and sat closer to the fire. "But, you really need to go down to dad... he's been worried. Well, as much as he can be. They think you've ran away... that you're a total failure."
That's when Dib saw it.
The three-fingered skeletal hand on the windowsill.
"I mean, you are, but... more than usual."
Dib was frozen...and not just from the outside. He gulped, regaining movement. "G-Gaz... h-he's..."
"I know... I'm also pretty scared of what he'll do, to be honest. But you better not say any of this delusional stuff to him, or he'll definitely call the asylum."
He pulled himself up fully, almost inside the room.
Dib's heart raced. "Gaz! B-Behind you..!"
"Dib, what are you..." Tak looked at Dib, then at the window. "The Hell..."
Zim dropped to the carpeted planks, letting himself be known with a loud thud.
Gaz turned around. "...h-huh?!" She stood up. "Who are you?"
Dib shot up, running to his sister's protection. "Gaz, it's..."
"I'm his husband." Zim held out his ringed hand.
Gaz stared. "Is that my ring?!"
"...darling?" Zim looked at the frightened Dib. "Who is this?"
"That's... my sister!" He took her arm.
"You said you were going to get your parent."
"What I said was... mostly the truth..!"
"Dib, what is going on?" Gaz looked into Dib's eyes.
Dib trembled. "I-I..." he looked between the two girls, and to Tak, and then to the ground. "I..." he grabbed Gaz's shoulders. "Gaz, please listen to me... there's been a grave mistake--I made the mistake to marry--please, he--!"
Zim's face dropped. "...mistake?"
Dib looked at Zim, his breath hitching. "I-I..."
Zim stared at Dib, his blank expression quickly becoming anger. "...hopscotch."
"NO!" Dib cried out, gripping his sister as he got grubbed by Zim. Zim and Dib got sucked through the window, with Dib reaching out for his sister. "Gaz!"
And Gaz really reached back. But she could only watch as her brother and a dead man got pulled into a void of dust.
She looked back at Tak. "You... saw that, yes..?"
Tak was staring wide-eyed at the window. "Maybe... we are all insane."
