Old friend of Sandor Clegane

You were y/n Lannister. A cousin to Cersei. You spent most of your childhood with Sandor Clegane, a wonderful boy who knew how to make you feel special. He protected you from all kinds of creatures. Be it childhood bullies or great dogs that once attacked you, Sandor was by your side to fight off anyone who may harm you. He was protective, yet so kind. He never said a bad word about anyone, except maybe his brother.

You still remember the night it happened. When Sandor was left with his scars. You and him had been playing with Gregors toys after you convinced him it would be alright. Of course, you regretted it soon after, feeling more guilty than ever before. Gregor went to push you down, but sandor stood in his way. He was small at the time compared to Gregor, having an age difference of 5 years, and was easily defeated. You tried to help him as his face was pressed to the flames, but Gregor slapped you hard, knocking you unconscious

But even after that, the two of you remained good friends up until your 16th birthday when you were married to a high lord who pretty much ignored you until he needed you as his breeding toy. You never saw Sandor again. Up until recently. Your husband and yourself had been invited to kings landing for the Kings coronation, of course you accepted the offer.

You arrived at Kings landing and was introduced to soon to be king joffrey. He seemed spoilt and incredibly punchable, but you decided to give him a chance as looks can be deceiving. After saying your greetings, you caught a glimpse of him. He was stood behind joffrey but quite a while back, not wanting to get too close and ruin joffreys reputation. But his eye sight caught yours and that was enough. You beamed at him and waved excitedly but he had no reaction, only looked away with a grunt, dampening your heart as your husband whispered in your ear and scolded you for that act of over enthusiasm

Later that evening, you were walking with cersei through the red keep, arms linked as you asked about her son

"So, our king, should I be worried?" You asked. She chuckled lightly and you watched as she thought of an answer that was truthful but wouldn't get her hung for treason

"Joffrey is a sweet boy. I just fear that his father didn't spend enough time with him, never taught him how to be a true king. Not that robbert was much better. But no, you shouldn't worry, you're family and as a Lannister, you are protected"

"What about the rest of the seven kingdoms?" She lowered her voice to a whisper to reply

"I suggest they start praying to all the gods, just to be safe" you nodded sadly, understanding what she meant. Cersei didn't want to be executed, but she didn't want to lie and that cause my own execution. So you got the idea, joffrey will be a poor king, and only the heavens can help us. As you walked, you spotted sandor

"Sandor!" You yelled running over to him. Cersei looked taken aback and then remembered our childhood. Whenever you were visiting, you would always write to sandor every day and talk about how much you missed him. She left the two of you in peace

"It's...its been a long time, too long. I've missed you every day. My husband, he's a boorish man, I just wish me and you could see eachother more" You told him truthfully

"You shouldn't be talking to me lady y/l/n" he said pushing past you and walking away

"I don't understand" you muttered. You were sure he'd be as equally happy to see you as you were to see him

"We aren't kids anymore my lady. You'd do well to remember that. Now fuck off, and leave me be" you gasped and tried to hold back your tears

"Very well" you whispered quietly, turning around and walking to your chambers. You wiped your eyes quickly and took a deep breath, pacing up and down as your hands shook. You loved him, as a friend of course. He was your best friend for so long. Perhaps he was angry, yes that must be it. Using the direction given by another servant, you ran as fast as you could to find sandor in his room. He opened the door and you walked in without an invitation

"Are you angry?" You asked plainly. He just chuckled

"Should I be angry?" He asked sitting down and drinking some wine

"Possibly. I left you, all alone with gregor, he's not a nice man. We were kids, even though our parents saw us otherwise. I'm sorry for just leaving you like that, had I been granted the privilege, I would've wrote to you. But I wasn't allowed" you explained

"I don't care. I'm not fucking 10 years old. You can go wherever you please" he growled at you

"What happened to you?" You asked sitting opposite him

"Fuck you talking about?" He asked seemingly unbothered

"Where has he gone? The boy who used to make me laugh, and smile. You'd bring me flowers every day on my birthday. You hugged me whenever you saw me even if we'd only been apart for a few hours. Sandor, you never swore infront of me. To others yes, but never infront of me. I don't understand it , what happened to that sweet boy?" You asked crying softly without even realising

"That boy grew up. Bout time you did the same"

"I grew up Sandor, I had no choice in the matter. And whilst I may have grown up and yes, I knew you'd have changed, but I still have manners as should you. You're my friend, why won't you talk to me?" You explained making him huff

"You are still the girl from all those years ago. I've changed my lady. I've killed more lords than you've feasted with." He snapped at you but you remained as strong as possible

"I don't care! You killed men before, it's your job and honestly, none of my business. Now you carry on killing people, nothing to do with me, but by God's good grace, you will start acknowledging me and please, just talk to me! I've missed you sandor, for so long I wept for you, and here you are, an emotionless cunt" he was shocked by your language

"I've never heard you swear" he laughed

"You've never seen me this angry" you said folding your arms and avoiding eye contact, subbonly

"You're wrong. I was there the day you got told you would be married" sandor reminded you

"That was the day it all fell apart" you whispered

"I'm sorry" he apologised

"For what? Ignoring me or yelling at me?" You asked with a small grin

"Neither of them. Not my fault you're petty. I'm sorry because I let you get married. You told me you didn't love him, I should've killed him instead" you just laughed

"I'd prefer you alive believe it or not. And whilst you may be strong and a good fighter, and my husband weak and cowardly, he was many men who would execute you in a heart beat" you told sandor. He just chuckled and poured you a glass of wine

"Do you forgive me?" You asked him

"Nothing to forgive" he replied honestly

"You're a good man Sandor. I've missed your company dearly. So now, let's make up for old times and get absolutely pissed" you yelled pouring more wine and cheering as he chuckled

"Wow, you do curse alot now"

"So? My father is dead, he can no longer scare me that the white walkers would get me in my sleep if I swear" you laughed. The pair of you drank and drank until it was just like old times. For the rest of your visit in Kings landing, almost everyday was spent with sandor, acting like little kids once again, the pair of you running around the castle and fighting, him with a sword, you with a spear. It was marvellous and you loved every second of it. You found the boy you left behind, he was right before your eyes, hidden under the disguise of the great cold bruite, the hound, or as you preferred, Sandor fucking Clegane
