It was a feeling. A gut feeling to be exact. But it was stronger than usual, and maybe it was due to bias, or even paranoia, at this point it would seem to fit. He had seen the signs of trauma nearly spelled out on the back of anyone that has ever been abused. The signs were far and few between, a lot of actors were out there too. But this one started to read more clearly to him, as if it was something that they were ashamed of. That's usually the leading indicator that things weren't ok, that something was amiss, that it was genuine, and somehow believed it to be their fault. But he just couldn't shake it, how he had missed it before made him feel as if he were an idiot. But if he was wrong, that would just lead to more unanswered questions.

"Teeeeeeeeee-jaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy."

Closing his eyes he looked up at the surveillance camera in front of the door that lead into the home from the back entrance. The house was small and the blinds were always pulled, it was normal for this person in particular.

"Open the door Dexter." TJ grumbles looking up at the camera spitefully as he tests the handle, affirming that it was locked and only so moments before he walked up.

"Why do you have to be like that T." Dexter's voice was one of those that was obviously put on to throw someone off by how cartoonish it was, and also to entertain. He could hear the soft laughter of a female in the background that he already knew so well.

TJ doesn't falter in glaring up at the camera and simply slides his hands into his jeans pockets until he hears the door unlatch and swing ajar on its own. TJ immediately lets himself in and closes the door. He looks around at the obviously lived in den and scans across the two desks stationed near each other though absent of their keepers. Their computers whirring with their activity and the monitors alit with the recent use an obvious give away that the two were messing with him as they were prone to do whenever he showed up. Not that it was out of the regular, but they sincerely enjoyed their pranks and were always targeting him to get him to crack.

"Dex? Eden? I'm really in no mood for hide and seek right now..." TJ sighs in exasperation and pinches the bridge of his nose in between his index finger and thumb.

"Aww T. You're no fun when you're grumpy." A tall girl with pale skin, eyes like honey and softly waved bleached white hair to her collarbones pops out from around the corner wearing a feigned pout, a pair of grey sweatpants and a cropped black sweater pops out from around the corner leading into the main living room. She smiles the moment he looks to her and comes in for a hug that TJ tries not to rebuff due to their friendship.

"Aw what?! I wanna hug. Teeeeee-jayyyyy gimme a hug too." The next to pop out of the closet is a bespectacled male with his dark hair combed up and over to give him a sophisticated look, wearing a cowl necked maroon hoodie and skinny black jeans.

"Don't." TJ warns holding out his hand to stop Dexter from getting any closer. "You always do something weird, like hold on for too long or just...don't."

Dexter's shoulders droop with the rejection and he makes a face of despair before turning around and resuming a collected image of him as if the dramatic scene was over.

"Aww but TJ you want my love, I know you doooo." He coos in that cartoonish voice again trying to go for another hug to be held away at arm's length with TJ's hand to his chest.

"Eden..." TJ pleads sounding completely unimpressed by the theatrics and looks to the pale haired woman leaning back against her desk, just watching the show unfold before her.

She laughs and waves her hand in a soft flapping motion at Dexter for him to stop. He whines and drags his feet over to Eden to take a seat in her computer chair and pulling her down to sit on his lap, only to spin themselves around together in the swiveling chair. TJ groans and rolls his head back in his impatience with the hyperactive pair. Eden hushes Dexter and turns to look at TJ with a look of concern.

"TJ, what's wrong boo? You seem to be on edge. Eiji said so too." She inquires soothingly in a way that eases him into a small moment of relaxation.

There were different types of people in the world, he had come to learn that through various interactions. Even if most people were the typical grouping of sheep that were happy with teetering on the tightrope that was presented before them, he could spot the ones that were genuine in a sense that that we were sincere in their actions and usually masked for the purpose of hiding amongst the masses. Eden and Dexter were two of those. They had happened to meet online and found themselves in a common situation where you tend to fall for a personality through the computer monitor screen and would hold onto any piece of technology in hopes that one would contact the other until they were continuously speaking and it only made sense for them to be together. He supposed that's what you would call 'true love', and they were inseparable. They were honest. Entirely. TJ had encountered Dexter first through Eiji which lead him to meet Eden, and it was again one of those natural connections between all of them. TJ had found himself to be alone for the majority of his life that it was still a bit of a culture shock to have people surrounding him that he trusted and that he didn't want to lose to something. He wanted to protect them as best as he could. Which even meant that omitting information was part of the process.

"What happened to you? You look like you got jumped." Dexter points out bluntly while gesturing to TJ's appearance to back his inquiry.

"Right. Which question did you want me to answer first?" TJ sighs out.

"Eden's." Dexter answers.

"It's finals week at school. And you asked what happened? Nothing to worry about." TJ answers in a way that states that he has no intention of actually saying anything pertaining to the matter, but would rather move on from the topic.

TJ taps the toe of his shoe on the floor and looks to Eden hopefully, his brow furrowed as he chews at the corner of his mouth. She gives him a questioning look and tilts her head to the side.

"Need a favor?" She quirks knowing TJ's look all too well, he nods in response sheepishly and reaches up to rub the back of his neck.

She pats Dexter's thigh and stands up, signaling for him to move it so she can use her computer. Dexter pops up and gestures to the chair as if presenting it to her in a royal manner. She giggles and takes the seat, turning to face the computer. She taps on the touchscreen monitor pulling up the software and waves over her shoulder for TJ to come closer. Dexter whistles and turns away, pretending not to see and sets off to busy himself with one of his gadgets sitting unattended on his desk. TJ walks up beside Eden and leans his knuckles against the desk top and hanging his head for a moment, the last moment to see if he will change his mind about what he's doing. It wasn't normal for him to have to ask for a favor. But Eden's profession allowed her to do intel work on various personnel. She was in a private investigation firm that dealt with relocation for victims in cases, but that was all that she could say on the matter, and TJ respected that. She had a pure heart to want to help others, and she was sincere about it. Dexter on the other hand was a techy that mostly dealt with programming of apps and other devices, so in short, he was an inventor in the technological department.

"So... what's the name?" Eden turns to look over her shoulder to TJ as he picks up his head and casts a sideways glance to her and then to Dexter.

"Tracey. Cyren Tracey." He states flatly and rocks on the heels of his shoes with a small bounce.

"That's... that's a girls name isn't it?" Dexter asks shocked by the question. "You.."

"It's not what you think." TJ interjects before Dexter can say anything more as Eden types in the name and does a quick search, warranting no result in the database.

Eden clicks her tongue and proceeds to do an advanced search of the name for a thorough search pulling up her address as well as some of the recent moves with the family. A history of the family records, such as birth certificates, death certificates, and a file with her younger brother's name on it. The results that TJ was looking for sure enough were there, which he didn't want to be right about, was the affiliation with a series of doctors, specifically in psychiatry department with Cyren's name beside it. TJ nods and stands up, knowing that Eden wouldn't go further due to her professionalism, and also not knowing that he wasn't just trying to get a background check on someone, but wanting to verify something.

"She seems clean. I think you're all set then. Though this file has me concerned." She states pointing to the one labeled with Cyren's younger brother's name on it.

"It's nothing, he's a minor and it's just vandalism and shoplifting." TJ affirms and waves it off as unimportant. "Thank you Eden, I really appreciate it."

"So...... who is this girl?" Dexter asks in a teasing tone as he swivels in his chair and looks to TJ while alternating raising each eyebrow in a suggestive way.

TJ gives him the same unimpressed look that he had been wearing since the moment he arrived on the property and tucks his hands into his pockets. This was a usual display that would be specifically for Dexter to stop asking questions and that he wouldn't put up with his shit for much longer. But Dexter knew that TJ would eventually snap if he pressed enough.

He didn't favor constantly being pressed for information that he was unwilling to give, it was the same with Eiji, he didn't like to present anything without knowing everything first. It was human nature to be curious, everyone could be guilty of that, and he knew Dexter to be one of the most inquisitive kinds. He asked questions without really thinking about what he was asking, but he did strive for the knowledge whether it be from one source or another. That's just how he worked. He couldn't admit that he disliked it because he truly did admire it. It was tiresome to see the majority of the earths population allowing their minds to go to waste by obtaining the bare minimum to skate by. It was discouraging to know that nearly everyone wasn't willing to stand on their own two feet and make the most of their lives. Whether they chose to adorn the crutches that everyone chose to bare when they decided that it was too hard to do anything for themselves or they would rather be cared for by the governments set up, he didn't care for the reason, he just knew that it was an excuse. An excuse to be pitied and catered to. He found himself infuriated by it, because it was nothing more than a means to get by, a unwillingness to live, and people tossed away their lives as if they were nothing of worth in the first place. Dexter wasn't like that, he wanted to make the most of everything he obtained, he learned from so much and applied it to one facet or another. And TJ could understand, but he hated to be used by another for whatever reason they had.

Normally a person would feel guilty for doing exactly what they loathed being done to them and others. That's what you would call a 'hypocrite'. He had no justification for that, so he decided to see it as a trade. Information for information. That's not why he liked Eden and Dexter, but it was a perk you could say, in a way, this all helped him and Eiji on a level that he knew that they wouldn't understand. They were worth protecting with their lives. By all means.
