They jumped from building to building until they made it to the Agreste Mansion. Ladybug followed Chat noir's lead instead since he seemed to have had a little more confidence with fighting Hawkmoth than she had. Chat noir opened Adrien's window and pushed it open and jumped inside.

"Chat! What are you doing? What if Adrien sees you?" Ladybug hissed.

"He isn't here, come on." Chat said, walking toward the bedroom door.

Ladybug looked around the room and saw that Chat noir was right. She sighed and followed him. They poked their heads around the corner of the hallway and saw Nathalie walking into Gabriel's office.

"There. She is going into the office. There's a hidden spot where they go into the basement in his office." Chat explained.

"Got it." Ladybug said, nodding.

Chat and Ladybug quickly made their way toward Gabriel's office and pressed their ears against the door.

"Adrien should be asleep by now sir, are you good to go?" Nathalie asked.

"Good. Yes I am. Are you ready as well Nathalie?" Gabriel asked.

"I am sir." Nathalie said.

Ladybug looked over at Chat noir, seeing him not waver at what Gabriel said at all. Odd. She returned back to the door with her ear.

As ladybug pressed her ears to the door, she heard some sort of elevator or elevation system. Chat took hold of the office door and opened it, catching Ladybug off guard.

"Chat! Hold on! Wait!" Ladybug gasped.

As ladybug ran after him, she saw that Nathalie and Gabriel were gone.

"See. They're in the basement now. They are going to try to akumatize someone I imagine. Though... I don't remember anyone getting akumatized. That's weird. What else could be in the basement?" Chat said thinking.

"Well... we need to stop them. Come on." Ladybug said, grabbing his hand and walking over to the elevation system that was still pushed out for them to take.

Chat stepped onto the platform and suddenly felt a pit in his stomach. It felt like he shouldn't be there. Ladybug hit the button and down they went. Chat turned to Ladybug and took hold of her hand in his for comfort. She smiled at him, gripping it in hers.

"Us against the world." She said,

He nodded, taking a deep breath as it began to descend deeper. They finally made it to the bottom where they found two people in the far back of the basement, barely visible from where they stood. Ladybug took out her yo-yo and Chat took out his staff, ready to ambush.

He would make his father pay for killing Marinette. He deserved it. He deserved it! He was an evil man! He almost killed Kagami and then he actually killed Marinette. He deserves to go to jail! Mayura as well, she let Gabriel do these things... and she is helping him. So... why did it feel like he was approaching something he would regret? Why did he feel sick? Why did he want to turn around and flee?

"Gabriel Agreste! Or should I say Hawkmoth!" Ladybug said, twirling her yo-yo with a smirk.

Gabriel and Nathalie turned around in a surprised panic. As Chat noir and Ladybug grew closer, they began to see they were taking care of the white butterflies and nurturing them to make them into Akumas. Though... Gabriel and Nathalie were standing near a machine of some sort in the middle of the room.

"Ladybug? Chat noir? Ho-How did you find me? How did you know who I was?!" Gabriel glared.

"Stand back, sir!" Nathalie said, transforming and stood in front of Gabriel to protect him.

"I defeated you before with a... Cataclysm" Chat said, triggering his power.

"I can do it better now that I have experience." Chat glared.

With that Chat noir jumped toward Mayura and began to fight. Ladybug took out her yo-yo and began to walk toward Gabriel. Gabriel grit his teeth and transformed into Hawkmoth.

"What are you hiding over here, Hawkmoth?" Ladybug said, running towards him, though Hawkmoth stood his ground and took out his staff to defend.

Ladybug used her yo-yo to throw at Hawkmoth but he used his staff to pull her toward him. She came stumbling forward and lost her balance, getting hit in the stomach with his knee. Chat turned around to see Ladybug being tossed a few feet away from the impact. As Chat lost concentration on his own fight, Mayura kicked him in the chest, causing him to fly backwards as well.

"Are you alright LB?" He said, looking over at her.

"Y-yeah. Just got a little off balance. Are you ok?" She asked.

He nodded and they regrouped, getting back into their fighting stances beside one another. Hawkmoth and Mayura exchanged smirks as they approached the super heroes. Chat swallowed, he was off his game. He was holding back because he was scared of the future. He didn't want it to happen again. He didn't want her to die!

"Such emotions you're feeling Chat noir." Hawkmoth smiled.

That's right. He needed to keep calm. Chat took a sharp breath in and calmed his thoughts. He looked over at Ladybug who gave him a worried look. He couldn't dwell on a future that didn't happen yet. He could save her. He could save her right then and there. He could prevent it from happening.

Chat flicked his staff toward Hawkmoth and extended it, knocking Hawkmoth backward toward the coffin. Mayura turned toward Chat and jumped toward him, trying to grab his ring, but Ladybug used her yo-yo to tie up her hands.

"Hawkmoth!" Mayura yelled.

Hawkmoth turned his attention back to Mayura and saw Ladybug and Chat noir had flipped the battlefield. They had used Ladybug's yo-yo to tie up Mayura and Chat noir had his cataclysm close to her face. This time they were smirking at him.

"Give up Hawkmoth. We won. Give us your miraculous." Chat called over.

"Don't do it, Sir!"

Hawkmoth clenched his fists and turned away, letting his eyes lay on the coffin that lay close in front of him. Hawkmoth pressed a button under the front of the coffin, causing the coffin to open. Chat and Ladybug narrowed their gaze as Hawkmoth stepped aside, ready to take action if needed. As the coffin opened Chat's eyes widened.

"Would you really let this woman die?! I wanted to bring her back please. It's for my son." Hawkmoth pleaded.

Chat noir took a few steps forward, almost completely numb with shock.

"M-mother?" He said wide eyed.
