Lunala flew upwards, circled in the sky and disappeared into the Ultra Wormhole.

"Um, so what now?" I asked.

Darkrai held a hand to his chin as if he was thinking hard. "Now we work out what's going on here."

"I thought we already did? Palkia sent Arceus to the human world, isn't that all there is to it?"

"Not quite," Darkrai mused. "Palkia may be the ruler of space but that doesn't mean he's smart. In fact, he's really quite dumb, gullible, and easily manipulated. There may be more to this yet."

"You mean Palkia could be taking orders from someone else?"

"It's likely. Given the right motivation Palkia would absolutely do this, but alone... I don't think so."

"So, how do we figure this out?"

"By going over everything we know. I told you all I know earlier. Do you two know anything more?"

I thought for a long second but came up empty. "Sorry, we don't know anything except what you told us."

Glair giggled and nudged my side. "Silly Ace! Of-course we know something else!"

"Glair I have no idea what you're talking about," I said dumbly.

Glair giggled again and shook her head. "Before we left Jacob and Pixie heard something."

"Heard something?" Darkrai asked, suddenly intrigued. "Heard what exactly?"

"Music. It was sad music and sounded pained. In the music they heard a voice. The voice told them to go to Fogbound Lake and ask for Uxie's help."

Darkrai snapped his shadowy fingers. "A Pokémon that spoke through music, that must mean... but then... No, he's no fool, but with the help of those two... damn."

"Darkrai?" He didn't respond. I tried shouting this time. "Darkrai!" He suddenly turned to me with a wide eye. "Darkrai, what's happening?"

"We're all dead," Darkrai whispered in faraway voice.

Okay, I'm fed up with all this mysterious crap. Time to get some answers! I reached out with my tiny paw and swung it hard, slapping Darkrai across the face. Looking back on it, slapping Darkrai may have potentially been a bad idea.

Darkrai glared at me. "You two go find your Carracosta friend, we'll need his help. And Ace, you can expect a nightmare or two in the future."

With that Darkrai sunk into the ground and disappeared. I stood there dumbfounded while Glair happily skipped from the altar. Noticing I wasn't coming she stopped and turned to me.

"What're you waiting for? We've gotta go find Tertle! Are you worried about those mean Pokémon from earlier? Don't worry they were after Jacob and Pixie, they won't bother us!"

"Yeah, I guess so," I muttered.

I followed Glair down the stairs and back into the forest. We blindly began retracing our steps through the darkness. I was silent for a long time, lot on my mind, you know how it is. Glair however, was as talkative as ever. As we walked she talked and joked and laughed. I was silent, only muttering the occasional response.

"Hey, is something wrong?" Glair asked in a concerned voice.

I looked at her incredulously. "Seriously? Our world is collapsing. Arceus is missing. We don't know who's behind this. Darkrai knows something and isn't telling us. What isn't wrong?"

"Well there's lots that's not wrong," she replied happily.

"Like what Glair?!" I exclaimed angrily.

She shrunk away at my harsh tone. Before I could apologize she had straightened back up and had stopped walking.

"You've still got me. That's not wrong... is it?"

I stopped walking and looked back at her. "Glair, the fact I've still got you, that's the only thing that's right."

She smiled and started skipping. I walked alongside her again. "Yeah we got this," she said positively. "Besides I'm Glair and you're Ace!"

I scoffed bitterly and shook my head. "Actually, no, I'm not."

"Huh? Yes, you are. You're Ace."

"Glair... Ace isn't my real name. It's made up."

"This sounds familiar... Oh well, why'd you change your name?"

"Growing up, life was good, until it wasn't. Everyone I loved and trusted abandoned me. One day they were all I had and the next day I had nothing. So, I lied to protect myself. I became arrogant, claimed that I alone was number one; the greatest and the best. I travelled Ardua trying to do good things. I wanted people to love me. When I heard about Zeraora's army and that they'd been defeated by a group of misfits I thought I'd fit right in. So, I searched for you guys. I found you, invited myself along, figured that by hanging with you I could finally become famous. I thought that if I hung out with heroes people would mistake me for a hero too. Next thing I knew, I no longer cared about being famous, all I wanted was to be with you guys."

"I do have that effect on people."

I laughed. "You certainly do Glair... You certainly do." I looked at her out of the corner of my eye. It was hard to see her in the dark, but I don't need to see her to know how beautiful she is.

"What's your name?"

"Pardon?" I asked, snapping out of my thoughts.

"Your real name, what is it?"

"Lucas."

"Luca!" Glair cheered.

I glared. "No. Lucas. There's an 'S'."

"Okay Luca!"

I rolled my eyes. I'd always hated the name Luca. Though I hated it a little less when she said it.
