Stiles walked into the mechanic garage with renewed energy, looking more rested. And smiling.

"You're late, that comes out of your paycheck," His boss grumbled.

"Yeah, nope," Stiles said, his smile widening,"First off, I would like to thank you for the opportunity of working for a lazy bastard like you. I salute you and will cherish the very small moments of neutrality I had with you. And now I quit!"

Stiles dropped his uniform at his former boss's feet and walked out of the garage leaving the man stunned, clicking his heels together.

His next stop was the training gym, the place that he hated the most, but also a place he would miss.

"Are you sure?" Henry asked.

"I'm sure," Stiles said,"Thanks for training me and everything. But I don't think I'll need it from now on."

"Alright, guess I can't change your mind. I'll see you around," Henry said, shaking his hand,"You can still visit if you want, maybe bring Ally."

When Stiles had first started working there, he would bring Ally along when she was six and she'd hang out with Henry's teenage daughter.

"I'll try," Stiles said honestly.

Hope summoned her sword and dismissed it, reading an ancient book written maybe nine hundred years ago.

Still she couldn't find anything, after weeks upon weeks of looking and still there wasn't anything about suddenly becoming indestructible.

She thought back to when it first started, when she had pulled Stiles and Ally from the truck. It all started with them. And Stiles was still immune to her compulsion, and she suspected there was something more to it than she thought.

Standing up, she found herself driving to Stiles's house not caring about the speed limit.

"Hi," She said, walking toward him while he worked on the truck, his hands covered in grease, and Hope struggled to ignore his biceps showing from the short sleeve he was wearing.

"Hey," He said, smiling at her,"What's going on?"

"Okay. I am going to say this in the most respectful way that I can right now. What the hell are you doing to me?"

Stiles blinked several times, obviously very confused,"Huh?"

Hope pulled a gun from her pocket making Stiles back up a step, but then Hope put the barrel against her hand and pulled the trigger, the pop making Stiles flinch.

Pulling her hand away, she showed her hand, revealing the flat bullet, a small ring of soot in the center of her palm.

Now more curious than frightened, Stiles grabbed her hand, inspecting it for any damage, only to see that there was none. Not even an impression on the skin where the bullet had hit.

"What the hell?" Stiles said.

Hope pulled her hand away with a bit of reluctance,"Exactly. I've never been bulletproof. But ever since you showed up, I can't be physically hurt anymore."

"And you think I have something to do with that?" Stiles asked incredulously.

"It's the only thing that makes sense to me," Hope replied.

"Hope, I don't know how many times I'm gonna have to repeat this to you, but I am human. I've only ever been human..." He trailed off, a dark look passing over his eyes, and he shook his head violently like it could erase the terrible memories.

"What was that?" Hope asked,"I know that you don't like talking about your past, but--"

"I was still human then technically, but it still can't mean anything. I'm still human."

"You said you closed your mind off, and that's how you're immune to compulsion. How?"

Stiles grimaced, needing to lean against the truck for support,"I died. Drowned more accurately, I was brought back to life, but the process opened a door in my mind, and something came in. It was called Void, or the Nogitsune."

Hope was suddenly reminded of the Hollow, the feeling of being able to see through her own eyes but not control herself. A voice being inside her head, laughing as she tried to fight it.

"Void was a spirit that fed on chaos, strife, and pain," Stiles continued, and he shuddered,"It killed one of my best friend's, Allison. When it finally got out, my mind just locked itself down."

"I think I have some understanding," Hope replied,"The Hollow was just a haunting spirit without a form for more than a thousand years. It created the werewolf curse, and since my bloodline could permanently kill it, it took me as its host."

Stiles laughed bitterly,"The Hollow and Void, huh? How can two words that sound so harmless actually be so terrible?"

Hope shrugged,"Guess that's just what it is. But that still doesn't answer my question."

Stiles thought for a moment, when he looked up he had an idea,"I know somebody. They happen to know everything about the supernatural. She's actually the one that told me that Ally was going to be a Banshee."

"A druid?" Hope asked.

Stiles winced,"Yeah, I may have lied about that bit of information."

"Why aren't you telling me what she is?" Hope asked as they both got out of the car.

"She's not really a people person," Stiles replied,"You have nothing to worry about. But she will run if it comes to a fight, so you don't need to seem threatening."

Hope looked at the metal shop, the sound of a blow torch filling her ears, when she took one step closer, the smell hit her like a brick to the face.

"Why does it smell like weed?" Hope grimaced, plugging her nose.

"Pretty sure she's been high ever since weed was discovered," Stiles replied, opening the door,"Yo, Jen!"

The woman shut off the blow torch, pulling up the welding mask looking at both of them, just one look at her eyes and Hope knew she was high.

"Stiles? Weren't you just here?" Jen asked.

"That was eight years ago, Jen," Stiles replied.

"Oh. Cool," She said, lowering her mask.

"I need your help again," Stiles said, making her lift her mask again and she looked more annoyed.

"Alright, what's going on, dude?" She asked, taking her mask completely off, slumping down in a chair.

"This girl? Seriously?" Hope asked, looking at Stiles.

"She's a bit more than what she looks like," Stiles said, turning back to Jen,"This is Hope Mikaelson--"

"Whoa, dude. Mikaelson? Like the OG vamps?"

"They're my family," Hope said, once again feeling the pain of guilt.

"Oh, dude. Beks and I used to get high all the time. But then her bro stabbed her," Jen said, almost like she was pouting.

"What are you?" Hope asked, knowing that if she was a vampire she would have been able to sense it.

"Oh, I'm one of the gods, dude," Jen said, spreading her arms like she was waiting for an applause.

Hope opened her mouth, then closed, turning to look at Stiles for confirmation, and he nodded.

"I'm what they call Hephestus, or Vulcan, but please, just call me Jen. Not Jennifer, not Jenny, just Jen," She told her.

"I thought Hephestus was the ugly one?" Hope asked, and Stiles winced.

"Oh, that was just a rumor spread by my sister, who you would know as Ares. But I think I don't look bad, do I?"

"You look great, Jen," Stiles voiced.

"Thanks, Dude," Jen said,"So what do you wanna know lil Mikey-son?"

"Lately I've been going through changes, like becoming more indestructible. Also, there's this thing," Hope said, a cloud of mist appearing above her open hand, and a sword dropped into her palm.

"Dude," Jen said, standing up as her eyes started to widen,"Dude! DUDE!"

Stiles blinked several times, never having heard Jen yell before.

"I thought y'all were all gone," Jen said, wild eyed,"There hasn't been one since I was in my first century."

"One of what?" Hope asked, now very concerned.

"Has there been any armor besides the sword? Maybe a shield?"

"What are you talking about?" Hope half shouted.

"The Amazons, dude!" Jen said, smiling,"They took me in after my Dad cast me out. Taught me the forge, not that they needed it anyway."

"What?" Hope said incredulously,"Like Wonder Woman?"

"What in the name of Valhalla is a Wonder Woman?" Jen asked.

"Super hero," Stiles answered,"DC universe."

"Still don't know what that is, dude," Jen replied.

Stiles pulled up a picture on his phone of the movie cover, and Jen looked at it curiously.

"That is...surprisingly accurate, except they were the people to invent armored pants. Not really invent it really, it was part of their power to have built in armor."

Hope was still stuck on the fact that Jen had called her an Amazon, her knuckles white from holding the sword so tightly.

So Stiles asked her questions for her,"Why is she becoming an...Amazon?"

"Does she by chance have protective qualities? Like self sacrificing, willing to do anything to save people?"

"Yes," Stiles said,"She pulled me and Ally from a truck before we drowned."

"Ally? Oh, yeah, the screamer."

"Yes, the screamer. But what does being a hero have to do with becoming an Amazon?"

"There used to be hundreds of them," Jen explained,"The most noble of women, the most heroic, made through their deeds of valor. They were created by one of the big gods."

"I thought you were a big god?"

"Not even close. The big ones are the dudes you hear about in most stories. My Dad was the king, but he only took over when the big ones left.

"After a couple thousand years, humanity started to lose their valor, they became greedy, selfish, also thanks to another big one . And as humans lost their nobility, they lost the Amazons, one by one they either died or betrayed their oaths, making them become human."

"Wait, hold on," Hope said,"How could Amazons die if they're indestructible?"

"They're not completely. The weapons of men draw no blood from them, but godly weapons can. Like that sword you're holding. You could probably kill me with it."

"Will I still be the Tribrid?" Hope asked, worried that she may lose her original powers.

"A what?"

"I'm the Tribrid, you know, three things rolled into one? Wolf, vampire, witch?"

"Oh, no. Being an Amazon isn't turning into another creature, it's powers that are given to you. Kind of like if a human got them, they'd just be a lot stronger and faster and indestructible and had magic weapons."

"So Amazons are basically True Alphas?" Stiles asked.

"That's one way to put it plainly," Jen commented,"If True Alphas became godlings instead of slightly more powerful werewolves."

"Wait, I'm a god?" Hope asked, her eyes widening.

"Godling," Jen corrected,"There's mortals, there's gods, then there are those in between. Not quite a god, but not fully a mortal either. The big ones used to choose champions among the humans and make them godlings since they didn't have a physical form."

"Huh?" Stiles said, confused.

"The big one's are spirits, they don't have a physical form because no mortal can contain such raw power, they'd blow up. So the champions were empowered by them, then they'd execute their will like they were the gods."

"Guess you learn something new every day," Stiles said, shrugging.

"So, I'm turning into an Amazon?" Hope asked, making sure she heard right.

"You already are one, you just need to learn how to summon your armor," Jen told her,"If you can summon the sword, it won't be too far along that you can use the whole armor."

Hope buried her face in her hands, groaning.

Stiles turned to Jen,"Thanks."

"Yeah, sure, dude. Say hi to the screamer for me," Jen said, grabbing her welding mask.

Stiles had to help Hope stand up and he walked her back outside. They both got into Hope's car but this time Stiles was driving because Hope didn't look like she should do anything.

"Are you now satisfied that it wasn't me who made you indestructible?" Stiles asked.

Hope shrugged,"It still is technically your fault. I saved you twice. You made me more noble then I have to be."

Stiles rolled his eyes,"I'm pretty sure that there was somebody you could have saved out there. But come on, Wonder Woman..."

Hope winced,"Please don't call me that."

"Why not? I mean, Tribrid, Amazon, Bounty Hunter, all these wondrous things about you just keep stacking up. So that might be my new nickname for you."

"And what are you? Human, MMA fighter, and single Father. That kind of sounds like Batman to me."

Stiles chuckled,"I guess that's better than some of the others. Like Aquaman."

"Aquaman can talk to sea creatures and breathe underwater," Hope reminded him.

"But he's just human on land, if he called for help from the sea, we'd just have a bunch of beach whales."

Hope sighed, her tone turning serious,"I don't know what to do with this."

"Do what you've always done, beat the bad guy, put him in jail, and get paid a lot for it."

"But I don't want to do that anymore, I haven't turned any perps in weeks. Sure, I bring the bad guys in but it doesn't make a difference. There's always going to be one more bad guy to catch, one more crisis to avert, one more dragon to slay. But becoming...an Amazon, if just feels like it's one more thing that's added to my responsibilities."

"Great power, great responsibility, right?" Stiles asked, and she nodded, slowing down and he pulled over putting the car in park,"Then don't. Don't take responsibility, just stop helping people."

"I-I can't just stop!" She said, appalled at the suggestion.

"Why?" Stiles asked,"You don't want it, right?"

Hope stammered, unable to respond.

"And there it is," Stiles said, smiling,"You wanna know why you can't stop. Because you don't want to. You like being the hero, even though not everyone knows it. You like being Wonder Woman. I could have just let Ally go, just let her go and get adopted by a nice family where she could have grown up happy. But I didn't not just because of responsibility, but because from the moment I saw her...I knew I would never love anyone else like her."

Hope couldn't even deny it, because she knew it was true.

"You are a wonderful woman, Hope Mikaelson. Whether you believe it or not, it's true."

"You are too," Hope said, suddenly feeling very shy.

A moment of silence passed between them, then both of them started to lean toward each other at the exact same time.

As they neared each other, Hope's eyes fluttered closed, only able to hear the pounding in her heart.

Then Stiles's phone rang, making them both freeze. Blinking several times, Hope pulled back, hardly able to believe what almost happened.

Clearing his throat, Stiles shifted in his seat uncomfortably, before finally answering the phone,"Hello?"

Hope politely didn't listen, just looking out the window, her face beet red, her heart pounding.

Then she started to notice Stiles's mood change very quickly, from confusion, fear, then finally panic.

Hope focused, and she only heard one word,"Taken."

Stiles threw the stick into drive and floored it, the tires spinning, before launching them forward.

Breathing heavily, Stiles whipped around corners, the needle in the speedometer raising to a hundred and ten.

"Stiles, what's going on?" Hope asked, but he didn't answer. He couldn't speak.

It was maybe five minutes before they were there, at Ally's school.

Hope's heart clenched when she saw several police cruises parked outside of it, and maybe three ambulances.

Throwing open the door, Stiles ran out at full sprint toward the school, when he finally got there he started calling out her name,"Ally! ALLISON!"

Ally's teacher looked at him from the gurney of an ambulance, a paramedic holding a bandage to her shoulder that blood seeped out of,"Mr. Stilinski, I'm so sorry."

"Where is she?" Stiles demanded,"WHERE'S MY DAUGHTER?!"

There were several other teachers injured, and finally an officer approached Stiles,"Mr. Stilinski? The father of Allison Stilinski?"

Stiles nodded, swallowing,"Where is she?"

Hope watched from maybe twenty feet away, watching the scene unfold, and as the officer spoke to Stiles, she saw him suddenly fall to his knees, holding his face in his hands.

His daughter was kidnapped.
