The next morning I wake up to my alarm going off and reluctantly get up with a groan turning it off. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes I head over to my closet and grab the school uniform I have to wear putting it on. I then go brush my hair and teeth staring at my reflection for a minute before heading downstairs seeing my papa placing a plate of food down on the table. I take a seat giving him a curious look. "Where'd you get breakfast from?" He gives me a smile. "The woman from the restaurant last night turns out to be our neighbor and she brought over some breakfast for us." My lips twitch up into a little smile. "That's nice of her." He nods and I start digging into my food happily. "Also her son offered to walk with you to school." I immediately choke on my last bite of food and quickly grab my drink trying to calm down managing to squeak out a "what?" He gives me a worried look patting my back. "Her sons walking you to school today so you can get used to the route." I frown and immediately go to protest when suddenly the bell rings signaling someone's at the front door. "Oh that must be him now." My papa walks off to go answer the door and I sigh grabbing my backpack before heading after him. I hear my papa talking with someone as I approach only to immediately frown when I see the boy from last night. He turns to me giving a bright cheerful smile. "Hey Skye! Ready for school?" I give a reluctant nod and give my papa a quick hug along with an "I love you papa" before walking out the door. Walking at Cedar's side he looks at me curiously. "How come you call your dad papa?" I keep my gaze forward answering flatly. "Because I had two dads." He blinks at me. "Oh that makes sense." He tries to ask more questions about myself but I turn him down each time so he instead starts taking pictures with his camera and starts babbling. "I bet you'll like our group of friends. We all stick together like family. Oh look we're here!" I look up and can't help but admire the fancy school while Cedar immediately grabs my arm and starts leading me through the halls. I try to pull away but he's a lot stronger than he looks and next thing I know we're heading for a large group of guys. He finally lets go skipping over to a tall older boy and pecks his lips giggling I internally cringing and wanting to puke at the cuteness as they hug and cuddle. The others are staring at me and finally Cedar turns to me with a smile. "Guys this is Skye. He's new here and needs friends." They all eye me warily as Cedar introduces me to everyone I immediately seeing Heeseung frown at me in disapproval and pulls Cedar into his side a little more protectively. The other boys stare at me Jake speaking up. "What kind of creature are you?" I shift a little murmuring uncomfortably. "I'm a siren." It seems like everything freezes and I see Jay and Jake both have disapproving frowns on their faces. I immediately feel uncomfortable, a little upset and hurt when suddenly Cedar and Teddy give me comforting smiles they both stepping forward and holding my hands. "Come on we'll show you around." Before I or their mates can protest I'm being dragged away from everyone and down the hall. Cedar immediately gives me an apologetic look. "Sorry about that. We had an incident where a girl who was half Veela and half siren used her powers to manipulate Heeseung and make him fall in love with her to use his money." I immediately frown at that and feel really angry. "Great. It's people like that give us bad names. It's people like that who get us killed or hurt." They both pat my shoulders and Teddy speaks up. "It's okay. They'll come around. And we know you don't use your powers so we aren't going to judge you." I immediately raise an eyebrow at them. "How do you know I don't use my powers?" They look at each other before smiling at me. "Because if you were using your powers everyone would want to be around you or be with you. Your aura kinda gives off the opposite effect so everyone is kinda intimidated or uncomfortable." I blink at that then smile a little. "So you guys are wanting to be around me because you actually want to." They both nod. "Yeah of course. Everyone could use a friend." I actually smile and Teddy gives out a squeak. "Your so cute!" Cedar grins and gently bumps me. "You should smile more it makes you look pretty." I shake my head in amusement then we head to get my schedule and before I know it the bell rings signaling class. I head to the classroom where I go up to the teacher and she immediately points over to an empty seat but I immediately frown because the empty seat is beside Jake.
