⚠️Trigger warning: violence, harsh language, guns, addictive substances

It was 2 am. The sun had long ago gone under the horizon, the glowing crescent replacing it, casting a dim light on the alleys of the Japanese metropolis. Even this late into the night, the infamous Shibuya crosswalk was bustling with countless people, giving everyone a sence of safety. After all, if there were so many people around, nothing bad could possibly happen, especially in a country as safe as Japan. At least, that's what Y/N believed.

Rumors went around, that Japan was experiencing a record-brekaing increase in crime rate in the past decade, so much so that nothing ever tracked in the history of the country came close to it. It was evident crimes were underreported and covered up, since it was barely talked about on the news. Information was spread through word of mouth. It was understandable that Japan would want to keep its clean image in order to keep a harmonious society.

But Y/N wasn't worried about that. She was ready to take on the world. So what if the crime rate skyrocketed? She's dreamed of coming here for so long and she wasn't going to let this stop her. So far, her experience working here has been as good as it could be. And it's not like there weren't any crimes happening where she was from. So what were the chances of her being invloved in anything like that here of all places?

As she got off on the subway station Y/N immediately made her way to her place. She was getting back to her apartament from a birthday party that she went to. The loud music became draining to her at some point, urging her to live early. She wanted to head to sleep as soon as possible. The girl took the usual shortcut to her apartament. As she was walking through a dark alley, thinking nothing of it, she turned the corner and froze in her spot.

"P-please, I don't know anything...! I was just a pawn, I dont know anything!" The man pressed up against the wall stuttered, as his lips quivered on his bruised face.

The shorter man chuckled. The feeble illumination gave him a stocky build, but it didn't make him look any less menacing.

"For the last fucking time, jackass, quit playin' games. The boss is pissed, so you better cut the crap before things go south." He pressed up his gun against his head as he said that.

There was a hint of hesitation on the mans face before he quickly blurted out: "O-okay! The raid was planned! There is a traitor among your men, that is delivering intel to ours!"

Both the shorter and the taller man exchanged a quick glance at eachother, an indignant look plastered on their faces.

"And who is that? Spill it out!" The shorter man replied, his voice fileld with irritation, shoving his pistol against the man's head harshly.

"I-I can't tell you! Please..."

"Is that so...." said the shorter man with a condecending chuckle.

Suddenly, Y/N snapped back to reality, realizing what was about to happen. She instinctively turned the opposite way and made a run for it. The gunshot being fired triggered her to to pick up her pace. Fear took over her mind, restricting her from calculating her movements. Not focusing on anything else, but getting as far away as possible, she tripped over a can of soda.

She immediately got back on her feet, yet the rattling sound of the can echoed in the alley. The taller man caught up to her in no time, trailing behind her. He wrapped his arms around her firmly, restricting her from moving. Y/N desperately tried to shake away from his grip, kicking and biting him, but to no avail.

"Help! Help!" she started screaming as the man carried her over to their car.

"Shut it!" He demnaded, putting his hand over her mouth and throwing her into the backseat of their vehicle.

The shorter man took the drivers seat almsost instantly after that, revving the engine of the car and leaving the scene.

A long torturous ride followed. Y/N was looking out the window the entire time, trying to memorize the way they were going, in hope she would be able to find her way back, if she gets a chance to escape. Her mind was racing. Were were they taking her? Who were they? What did they want from her? What will they do to her?

As she was lost in her thoughts the car stopped abruptly. They had driven to a luxurious house in the outskirts of Tokyo. When the vehicle pulled in the driveway, the men harshly coaxed her to get out. Leaving her no choice, the three of them walked to the door together. As they entered, the spacious inside of the house was revealed to her. A few steps in and the smell of cigarette smoke penetraded Y/N's nostrills. A few men were glaring at her, tracing her every move with their eyes. The other two greeted their buddies, then led her up the stairs. The girl made herself aware of her surroundings, taking in the fancy furnishing and the type of people she encountered. She was sure she was dealing with the yakuza.

They stopped in front of a room with a heavy wooden door, ingraved with ornaments. They knocked on it. A low voice responded firmly:

"Come in."

Before her was standing a tall lanky, yet muscular man dressed in a suit, with short white hair and wide shoulders, looking out the window in the office, smoking a cigar. As soon as the door opened, his piercing gaze fixated on Y/N, making her uncomfortable. It was evident he was taken aback by the foreign girl's presence.

"What is this?" He asked coldly as his gaze shifted to his men.

The short man behind Y/N quickly explained the situation to his boss, making him aware of the occurence. With a leisured wave of his hand, the boss dismissed the two, leaving him and the girl alone in the room. The man head behind the desk, taking a seat in a leather office chair. His icy glare turned back to Y/N's face. The girl nervously fidgeted with her fingers as she was standing in front of him.

"Sit down."

His demanding tone made her take a seat in front of him immediately. She was stiff, not moving in the slightest after she sat down. Her eyes darted around the room, avoiding his gaze, and her fingers played with the hem of her skirt. This didn't go unnoticed by the man.

"What happened tonight?"

"Uhm... nothing" she responds as she smiles , giving him the answer she thinks he wants to hear.

"You don't want to lie to me, sugar."
The man purred out as a slight smile crept onto his face. He slid his chair forward and placed his arms on the desk, leaning closer.

Y/N shivered at his words and leaned away slightly. "Uhm okay...So I was walking down the street and then I saw... A scene... Well, I didnt see anything in particular, but.. I saw something... Like an interrogation... You know...?" she blurted out rapidly as her eyes wandered around the room.

The man smirked. He was enjoying the girl's reactions. "And what did you do?"

"Well... I tried to run away, but I got caught and shoved in a car... then they drove me here..." the girl responded quietly, trying to look into his eyes, while fidgeting with her fingers.

While listening to you, the smile on his face widened. He was amused. His gaze linegered on Y/N for a few more seconds after she finished talking.

"What a pretty thing you are." He mumbled to himself.

After a short pause, the man spoke, looking into her eyes intently. "So... will 1 million yen be enough to keep that pretty mouth of yours shut, sugar?"

"Ah..." the young woman exclaimed as she flinched. It was like she was so worried she forgot why she was here in the first place."I wasn't thinking about reporting it..."

As Y/N was saying that, he stood up and walked to the corner of the room, where there was a safe. As he unlocked it, he took a fat wad of cash and stayed there counting it for a solid 2 minutes, then he came back, sat on his stool and handed the money to Y/N.

"Treat yourself, sugar."

Y/N recieved it with both her hands, looking at the money in confusion. Just how much was it?! She then looked at her purse, realizing she can't fit it all inside.

"Ah... It won't fit in my bag..." she said awkwardly.

He looked at her small purse and chuckled. He then walked back to the safe and pulled out another one, handing it to her.

"Get yourself a new one."

She stared at the two wads in confusion, wondering what to do with them. She couldn't just carry them around in her hand. The man understood her expression.

"My men will drop you off, sugar. Don't worry."

"I see... Well... Thank you..." she replied in confusion. Y/N wasn't exactly content with the yakuza underlings driving her home, but its not like she was in position to reject him. She couldn't walk back by herself either. She would tell them to drop her off somewhere near her place, so they wouldn't know where exactly she lived.

"You're more than welcome, sugar." He smirked.

A brief moment of silence followed.

"Alright. You're free to go. However, if you even think of going to the police..." He said the last part slowly, and deeply.

Surprised that the man might let her off the hook so easily, she responded quickly with a smile, before he could change his mind. "No! I won't!"

"That's my girl." The man smirked, nodding his head to the door behind her. "Go, get outta here."

Y/N stood up swiftly, as to not lose her chance of escaping. She bowed to him slightly, then head for the door.

"Goodbye!" The girl said with an awkward wave of her hand, shutting the door behind herself.

He let out a low chuckle, lighting another cigar and heading over to the window again.

He smiled.
