~Y/n POV~
This first day, like most first days, flew by. I spent most of my time with Draco and 'Mione, although, not at the same time as I don't believe that would end well...
Draco and I work well together in potions, dare I say, even better than Hermione and I work together. Despite the fact that I sat next to the blond in DADA and Charms, I mostly spoke with 'Mione; I'm not sure Draco was thrilled with it, but as I already established, he's a dramatic ferret! Finally, my free period came. I decided to spend my time in the library, and Hermione would've accompanied me if she didn't have a class during my free lesson.
Hence that's where one would find me, at the back of the library, perched on the window sill, with my nose stuck in a book, keeping to myself. Alone, at long last.
Merlin had other plans, as not a moment later, I feel the burn of numerous pairs of eyes to my left, down the aisle of the library. Then, many whispers of protest reached my ears. I had a feeling what was going to happen because the library was surprisingly busy today, with only a few chairs remaining. Luckily for me, as I got here as soon as possible. Not to mention the fact that I was a Slytherin, which meant that many people feared me because of my power. Consequently, I was left alone... Until now. What was most curious to me, was the fact that this group of Slytherins have slithered far from home...
Footsteps echoed down the aisle, I didn't even need to take a glance at whom was making their way towards me, as I already knew. "What, Malfoy?" I questioned absentmindedly, my eyes not leaving the pages of my book.
He scoffed playfully, "C'mon now, that's no way to talk to your future-" the boy stopped, silently interrupted by my harsh glare. "A-ha" he laughed nervously, I tried my hardest not to laugh seeing him so nervous. The Draco Malfoy getting nervous because of me! This. This is the best moment of my life... "I was- well we were- if it's ok with you..." I rolled my eyes at the boy's inability to speak properly.
"Yea, you and your friends can sit here. But you listen to me Malfoy, I come here for peace. Any nose from anyone and you will leave... Am I clear?" I addressed Draco sternly. He mumbled a quiet 'yes ma'am" before scurrying off to inform his group.
Long story short... They acted like a bunch of baboons, with that I left the group, irritated.

After spending my time walking down the long corridors of the ancient stone castle, eventually, it was time for the new class, Life Management and Skills.
The class is located far up the Western Tower, meaning that leaving a few minutes early is the best call. I arrive at an isolated room scattered with comfy sofas and coffee tables. After surveying the classroom, I made my way to the black leather sofa with a rectangular dark wooden coffee table that's positioned at the back of the room. After a minute or so, more and more students began to fill the once desolated room.
A few moments pass when the infamous Slytherin Prince struts in. He takes the space next to me, and sets his belongings on the ground beside his legs. "Hey" he finally greets me.
"Hi" in a monotone voice, I answer sounding unbothered, wishing for this lesson to be over as it's already slaughtering my mood.
Draco lets out a low sigh, "look, I'm... Sorry, for the whole library situation" he looks at me, while my eyes remain glued to the clock hanging above the teacher's desk on the back wall, taunting me.
"I'm not mad at that, I expected nothing better. I just... I'd rather not be here" he nods in understanding before I add, "and thank you, for apologising." I turned my head to look at him and flash him a small but kind smile.
Draco returned a genuine smile, but our talk was cut short when the same ministry woman from the prior day strolled in. It was deafening how silent everyone sat. She turned to face the class with a pity smile adorned on her wrinkly face. The raven-haired woman began to speak.
"Hello 8th and 7th years, my name is Mrs Cattlemen, and I've been assigned to teach you some important life skills you will be needing in a few years. Now, over the year, you will receive the various tasks that you must complete throughout a set timeframe. Some of those tasks will include: getting to know your other half; caring for a living being; learning how to cook; clean; host parties; etc..." the woman explained joyfully.
"... So please, if you have any questions, ask me at any point, don't be afraid. Also, if you and your other half ever have some issues, I'm always here to talk. Or even if you just want to talk with someone about anything, come and talk to me! I am here for you. I don't want anyone here to struggle on their own" she added warmly. She paused for a moment, to see if anyone had a question, before moving on.
"Okie Dokie, in this lesson, you and your partner will have quality time to get to know one another. There are some suggested questions on this paper" as she motioned to the paper in her hand, a replica of said paper appeared on each mismatched coffee table in the room, "but feel free to discuss whatever your hearts desire. There will be an enchantment set around each couple in the room, acting as a bubble of privacy. And so... You may begin"
With a wave of her wand, a silencing charm blanketed each couple in the room. Looking around I could spot all different couples, each talking, but nothing was heard. Draco reaches for the parchment and looks down at it in his hands.
While the blond was distracted, I took advantage of the chance to get settled in, since we would be sitting here for some time. I swing my legs so that my knees are resting on the Malfoy's lap, the rest of my legs and feet lay across the other side of the sofa. Silently, Draco cocks his eyebrow at me, peering at me from the corner of his storm coloured eye. I half-smirk half-smiled at the blond, he just rolled his eyes and placed his hand on top of my thighs, causing me to blush slightly... What was happening to me?
The blond who was also slightly red in his face cleared his throat, "so, what's your favourite colour?" he turns to me with the sweetest smile.
I grinned widely back, "f/c" then the curious boy asks me 'why' "why? Well first things first, it's just a superior colour, obviously because it's my favourite colour. Second, it's just something about the colour that just... resonates with me. I don't know what it is... But I feel like the colour complements me." I look back at Draco, having looked away in thought, to find him smiling contently at me, his eyes drowning in emotion that I can't seem to identify.
"What?" I question Draco, curiosity invading my mind. He just smiles and carefully shakes his head. I roll my eyes at him, before asking him about his favourite colour.
"Green." I roll my eyes once more at the irony of his answer. "But not just any green. I prefer forest green, a deep, dark, silky green. Like the colour of needles on a pine tree." I stared into Draco's grey eyes in amusement, unknowing of how much of a softy the usual cold and harsh Slytherin could be.
He chuckled warmly, "what?"
"I didn't know you could feel so deeply about something as simple as a colour." I smirked and chuckled back. Both of our laughs filled the enclosed space, coming together and creating the perfect harmony.
Soon the joyous sound of our laughter faded out, replaced with the new tune comfortable silence. I grabbed the sheet of questions from Draco's hands and read the next question.
"What has been your favourite holiday?" I looked to the boy, who shrugged.
"I've never been on one" he answered nonchalantly. I gasped loudly, taken back by the Malfoy's unacceptable answer.
"What! Seriously?" I sincerely asked him, he nodded, silently answering me. "What! I cannot believe that! I promise you we will go on holiday this summer. Where have you always wanted to go?" He was taken aback by my abrupt outburst and stared blankly at me. Then he thought for a moment, asking himself; where have I always wanted to go?
"Italy. More specifically, Rome. My mother went there just after she graduated from Hogwarts, she's always spoken highly of that place, it's made me quite determined to go." He grinned to himself as he remembered all the times his mother would tell him about her adventures.
"Then it's settled then." the boy turned his head to look at me, snapping out of his trance, "we are going to Italy. And that's a promise." Draco's eyes lit up with pure joy, a childish smile broke out on his face. Seeing him so cheerful and spirited, made me feel like the happiest woman in the world.
