"i've missed you," joshua spoke as he walked through my door for the fifth time this month. "i need you." joshua proceeded to me and kissed my lips with force and passion.

you might be wondering how i got in this place.

let's start from the beginning.

just over five years ago, i met josh at a bar in Munich. I had just started studying here in germany. being young and naive, i brought josh back to my place. even when he said he had a girlfriend, i believed that i was the one for him. nothing and no one was stopping us.

still, when lina, his girlfriend, moved in with him four years ago, we carried our secret on.

this has happened even to this present day.

anyway, joshua and i had our little rendezvous and he left for his home.

as tomorrow is the start of oktoberfest, i got my dirndl ready. joshua decided that today was a great day to go rough and i was walking from side to side, i settled in for the night.

i woke up the next morning, ready for the festival. i went to my local pub (the one where i met josh) and ordered a beer. a beautiful woman sat next to me.

"i love your dirndl," she commented. "i know we're random strangers but it looks amazing."

"oh, thank you..."

"oh, yeah, i'm lina."

lina, joshua's girlfriend. how did i not recognise her?

"well, thank you, lina. i'm y/n. your dirndl is beautiful!"

"i didn't even notice that bracelet! that is stunning! where did you get it from?"

i gulped quite loudly, as her boyfriend was the one that gave me it for my birthday three years ago.

"oh, a friend gave it to me for my birthday a few years ago."

lina and i chatted for a bit longer, but my mind was racing. she deserved the world, and her boyfriend is cheating on her with me? she deserves so much better.

during oktoberfest, joshua and i met up a few more times. i couldn't help that after every time i looked at him, i felt nothing but guilt.

i decided this was enough.

during our next meeting, i didn't wear the bracelet.

when josh walked in, he noticed straight away. "liebe, why aren't you wearing your bracelet?"

"i can't do this anymore."

"can't do what?"

"us. this. the cheating. everything."

"what? we have it all,"

i placed the bracelet in the palm of his hand. "you have the world waiting for you to come home."

"what? lina?"

"no, i mean your dog. of course it's lina. she's the most beautiful woman i've ever seen and her boyfriend is at another woman's house!"

"but-"

"but you shouldn't risk losing what you have. i was stupid. we were stupid. you shouldn't risk losing her to an affair. now get out."

josh didn't need to hear it a second time. he placed a quick kiss on my lips. "goodbye, liebe," he whispered, before leaving me and us behind.
