Sadly, I didn't have any time to check my phone since I was way too busy. There was a big gender reveal party and the mother wanted a bunch of blue and pink flowers for decorations as well as for the guest to take home. I'm alone to do all of this so she agreed to pay a lot for my work. I took it since I needed the money and she wanted it at the end of the week, meaning that I had four days to work on it.

I've already started to work on it thinking that I won't have any distractions until about an hour later, someone else came in. I quickly turned around to that I could get it over with.

-Hi, I'm here to ask you if you have any cyclamens? The young lady asked and I nodded.

-Oh dear, I'm so sorry. It's for who, if you don't mind?

-For my boyfriend. Why?

-... Do you not know what Cyclamens symbolizes?

-Mind your business. I do know what it means since I'm a botanist. I wanna break up with him.

-Oh, alright...

I went behind into a room and grabbed a flower pot full of Cyclamens. Hopefully the man won't come in here and ask me what it means. I took it back to her and asked her if it's fine that I leave it in the pot and she nodded. I placed it in a box that had a transparent plastic in front so you could see the flower without opening it. I handed it to her gently.

-Here, the ways to take care of the plant. I handed her a piece of paper underneath the counter and she took it.

She payed and left without saying a word. I looked down to the bill and sighed. That's one thing that I hate the most when it comes to being a florist, other than preparing a bouquet for someone's death, of course. I turned around to the clock and it was almost time. I quickly did the bouquet that I was doing and stored it in the back. I cleaned the place up a bit and it was finally time.

The door opened one last time and America entered. I turned to her with a loving smile and she returned it with a smile as well, but it was clear that it was fake.

-What's wrong? Did you went into a fight with Nada again? I asked her and took off my apron.

-No. She sighed sadly and went towards my counter.

-Then?

-Something bad happened to Nada but I don't know if I should tell you or not. I don't know if he wants you to know or he prefers to just keep quiet for now. America explained and slumped on the counter.

My heart was racing. I hold onto the apron that I had in my hands tightly but quickly stored it when I noticed my movement. I walked to her and slowly took her sunglasses off her and placed it next to her since I didn't want it to be damaged. She thanked me and I hummed.

-Did Nada received any bad news? I asked her trying to delicately push her to give me the answer.

-Yeah, and sadly I can't really comfort him since I'm hanging out with you. She whined. And don't apologize!

-... You don't have to stay with me. You have to take care of your older brother!

-I'm the oldest. She said and lifted her head.

-Oh! Sorry, since he-

-He has some white hair? Yeah, he gets that "compliment" a bunch of times. I'm the oldest of them all, by the way.

-I'll remember that.

After a while, I brought her to her spirit and we walked together towards a shop. When we arrived, it was a small cafe but since it sold sandwiches, we could buy and leave. And that's what we did. She recommended me one and I blindly took it. We got out with the same sandwich and walked back towards my place.

-Why don't you come to my place and we can have lunch there? America asked me and I turned my head and I was surprised.

-Are you sure? I think that it's a bad idea... I might bother your family.

-No you won't! You know Nada, and there's only two more people that you don't know. You'll be fine, they're fun to fight with.

-But Nada-

-Don't worry about him. I'm sure you'll bring a smile on his face once you step foot in the house. Plus, I really need an extra hand to cheer him up since the two others don't really care.

-Why not?

-They are the people who think that the way of surviving life is by not caring for anyone but themselves, or the people you're closest with.

-You guys aren't close?

-We aren't fully blood related. But we all share the same father, and we do get along.

We were talking so I didn't notice that we have arrived to her house. I really didn't want to talk with Nada or spend a lot of time with him since he does have a girlfriend but maybe talking with him a bit will be fine.

America unlocked the door and let me enter first. I wanted to take my shoes off but she told me to leave it. I heard loud chatter coming from a closed room. To my left was the living room. There, there was someone watching the TV on the couch. The person had red hair with white accent so I instantly knew that it was Nada.

-Hey Canada, come say hello to our guest. America called and I glared at her.

He only turned his head to me and was shocked to see me. I smiled to him and waved. It feels awkward knowing that he has a girlfriend and I might have given his girlfriend the flower to break up with him. I didn't even get her name.

-You guys are friends? He asked us and we both nodded.

-We decided to grab lunch together. America started and went towards the living room, I followed her.

America sat on an one person only chair and left me standing. Nada moved a bit to the left so I could sit down on the same sofa as his.

-What'cha watching? America asked and he shrugged.

-"Is it cake?" on Netflix. I don't get the point but it's a mindless show so it's something.

America only hummed and started to eat her sandwich. I took that as a sign and took out mine as well. I noticed that the small table had no food so I offered some of mine to Nada but he refused, saying he already ate. I shrugged it off and enjoyed the food in silence while America and Nada complained about the show the whole time.

I was enjoying the bond that they had, something that I've missed for a long time.
