(Tim's POV)
I held her body in my arms. This is all my fault. Why didn't I help her earlier. If I did, she would still be alive. My thoughts consumed me as I waited anxiously in the waiting area seats. Angela was sat beside me, she notice I was anxious and held my hand. She reassured me everything would be okay.. but how? Lucy was shot. And it's all my fault.
(No one's POV)
Hours passed by As Tim and Angela waited patiently in the waiting area. Suddenly a doctor came out of Lucy's room.
Doctor: family of Lucy Chen?
Tim jumped up out of his seat.
Tim: yes. Me. Is she okay?!
Doctor: shes stable, it's a miracle.
Tim: oh thank god!
Tim let out a sigh of relief turning to Angela.
Tim: I.. I thought I'd lost her.. he said to Angela as he began to cry.
Angela: oh Tim.. it's okay. She's okay. She said leaning in to hug Tim.
Tim: I should have been there. I never should have left her in the first place.
Angela: Hey. Don't you dare blame yourself. It isn't your fault.

Tim turned towards the doctor, would we be able to see her?
Doctor: im not too sure. I'll go ask Lucy.
(Tims POV)
As the doctor left to go ask lucy, i felt better knowing that she was okay. I just prayed that she would make a full recovery. Suddenly the doctor came back.
Doctor: Lucy will be able to see people. But one at a time shes still recovering.
Tim: of course.
(No ones POV)
Tim looked over at Angela. Angela nodded her head signalling that Tim could go in first. Tim smiled at Angela as he followed the doctor to see Lucy. Tim reached the door and went inside, as the doctor waited outside.
(Tims POV)
As i opened the door that Lucy was in. I got Deja vu, i had been here before when i first met Lucy. In that moment i realised that Lucy was here far too much. Maybe she needed to change her job to one that she would be safer in..
Lucy: t- tim?
Her voice was so faint it made my heart break. I looked up, as my eyes met hers. I instantly broke down into tears.
Tim: lucy.. im- im so sorry.. i said in between tears.
Tim: this is all my fault.
As i walked over to lucy and sat beside her bed she held my hand. Her touch was so gentle, she always knew how to cheer me up.
Lucy: don't- don't blame yourself.. she managed to say before drifting off to sleep.
I stayed by her side for a few minutes just admiring her. Her delicate smile, he perfect skin, i had never seen someone so relentless and brave. But most of all, she was beautiful. As she drifted off to sleep i brushed her hair out of her face with my hand and gave her a kiss on the forehead. I stood up and left the room.
Tim: hey Ange, you can go see her now if you want. She's asleep though.
Angela: that's okay, I'll still sit with her for a few minutes.
(No ones POV)
Angela entered the room where Lucy was. And sure enough she was asleep. Angela walked over and sat in the chair beside Lucy. Angela put her hands together and prayed.
Angela: dear lord, please let Lucy have a full recovery, she deserves to be safe. She's a very brave, strong, independent woman and she deserves the world. If you can hear me, please look after her. Amen.
As Angela stood up she turned around to where Lucy was sleeping.
Angela: i love you Luce, get better. She said as she left the room, closing the door quietly behind her.
Angela walked over to Tim and they both headed out of the hospital.
(Tims POV)
As i left the hospital i couldn't help but feel responsible for Lucy, if i had just helped her before maybe none of this would've happened. The whole drive home the same moment kept replaying in my head, when i heard the gunshot and the loud crash. How i felt. I've never felt that way about anyone before. I knew that i cared very deeply about Lucy, but it wasn't until today that i realised just how much i actually did. I drove into my garage, parked my car and entered my house. It was cold, empty, there was dust everywhere. Piles and piles of clothes everywhere, this was home. I got ready and curled up in bed, hugging the covers as I shivered. Hours went by but I couldn't get any sleep. I lay flat on my back starring at the roof. I had to know Lucy was okay. I quickly grabbed my phone off my nightstand and texted Lucy.
(The text messages)
Tim: hey, I couldn't sleep. How are you feeling?
Lucy: hey Tim, im okay. It just hurts.
Tim: im sorry for not being there when i happened.
Lucy: don't apologise, it's not your fault. You can't blame yourself. I should've told you sooner.
Tim: but i was there. I shouldn't have called for backup I should've just fought Caleb myself.
Lucy: don't say that Tim. It's not your fault.
Tim: but you could've died! And i would never be able to forgive myself.
Lucy: but i didn't Tim. I didn't. You saved me.
Tim: by some miracle. But you could have.
Lucy: Tim please. I'm fine, nothing happened to me okay? I'm all good now.
Tim: yeah..
Lucy: please don't worry about me. Get some sleep.
Tim: okay.. goodnight Lucy.
Lucy: goodnight tim. Thank you for everything.
(Tims POV)
I put my phone on charge and placed it on the nightstand. First thing tomorrow im going to get up and be there for Lucy before she wakes up. I set my alarm and turned over tugging the covers over me. A few minutes later, i dozed off to sleep.
