Ivy's POV

"What's going on?" I asked

They all stared at me, blank faces

"Munchkin" dad got up and came to hug me "Happy birthday"

"Thanks Dad" I hugged him back "Mum?"

She got up and smiled at me
"I've missed you" she hugged me

"Me too" I said, sighing

"Happy birthday, honey" she kissed my forehead.

"Thanks mum" I said "How's everyone?"

"They're fine" mum said

I nodded
"What's going on here?" I asked again

Dave was seated as well as his lawyer and the company's lawyer.

"Seat down, honey" mum said

I sat next to Dave who smiled at me. His lawyer next to him and the company's lawyer next to me. Dad and mum next to him.

"Mr Connor wants your signature on a very important document" the company's lawyer said

I looked at Dave and back at the company's lawyer.

"What document?" I asked, my heart racing

He wouldn't ask for a divorce, would he?

The lawyer shifted a document in front of me
"See for yourself, Mrs Connor" he said

I sighed and opened the document. Frowning as I read through.

"What the heck is this?" I looked at Dave, who just sat there looking at me

"Well, its a document stating that Mr Connor has given you full control of Thompson's Publishing. He's given up his seat as CEO and given it to you"

I stared at the lawyer, silent.
"That's bullshit" I said

"Honey, this is what you've always dreamed of" mum said "Dave came up with the idea weeks ago and wanted to surprise you today, being your birthday"

"All you have to do is sign it and its all yours" dad said, smiling

I stood up in a flash, pushing the chair back
"I don't want it!" I stated "This is outrageous"

They all stood up and stared at me.

I looked at Dave who looked confused and lost.
"What do you mean?" Dave spoke

"What the hell are you thinking?" I asked him, mad at him

"I was thinking of giving the company back to the rightful owner" he said

"Fuck you!" I said to him and left the conference room. But not before I saw Dave's surprised look.

I went to my office to get my bag before making my way out of the company.

"Mrs Connor!" Phil was surpsried to see me downstairs. "Where are you going?"

"It's fine Phil, I'll take a cab" I told him

"Mr. Connor won't be pleased with me" he said

"Tell him I refused to get in the car" I told him as I hailed down a cab

"Mrs Connor I can't let you go by yourself" he said

A cab stopped in front of me
"Well, too bad" I said getting into the cab and giving him the house address.

I got home, pissed.

So much for having fun on my birthday.

I went to the bedroom and stripped myself off every piece of clothing I had on. I went into the bathroom and drew myself a bath.

At least I can rely on a bath when there's no one else.

I wiped the make-up off my face as I waited for the bath.

I sighed and got into the bath when it was filled. I tied my hair in a rough bun and relaxed.

I shut my eyes and...I have no idea when I slept off.

Dave's POV

"Fuck you!" She yelled before she left the conference room.

I was surprised at her behaviour.

What the heck?!

"What was that?" Ceaser asked

"Looks like our daughter doesn't want the company anymore" Jules said, smiling

Okay?!

"Thanks Rob" I told my lawyer "Spence" I nodded to the company's lawyer "I'll call you when everything is settled"

They nodded.

"Excuse me" I said before I left to go look for Ivy.

A very mad Ivy at that.

What's wrong with her?

She's always wanted the company and I gave it to her on a silver platter but she rejected it.

She freaking rejected it and threw it in my face.

Well not literally.

I passed Claire's office making my way to Ivy's office

"Sir?" Claire called

"Not now Claire" I said and walked into Ivy's office.

She wasn't there.

I shut the door and went to Claire's desk
"Where's she?" I asked

"That's what I was gonna tell you" she said "She stormed out of the building a few minutes ago"

"Argh!" I groaned "Ivy!"

I sighed

"Thanks Claire" I said before going to the elevator and going down.

I stepped out of the building intending to hail a cab thinking Phil would havr taken Ivy, but I stopped short when I saw Phil.

"Sir" he came towards me "Your wife, she got into a cab, I asked her where she wanted to go, I wanted to take her there but she was angry. She gave the cab driver the home address"

I sighed
"It's okay Phil, take me home"

"Right away sir" he said

We got into the car and he drove me home.

I couldn't keep calm.

I needed to see her.

I needed to know that she was fine.

When we arrived, the car barely stopped before I got out. I unlocked the entrance door and stepped into the house shutting the door behind me.

"Ivy!" I called her name

She wasn't in the living room or the kitchen or the pool side. I went upstairs and opened our bedroom door.

I sighed in relief when I found her clothes on the bedroom floor. I closed the door and walked towards it. I picked up the white gown she had on this morning and her underwear. I put them in the laundry and went to open the bathroom door.

She laid there, in the tub, asleep.

I walked towards the tub and sat on the edge as I watched her sleeping face. Her chest rose and fell with every breath she took, rising above the water. Her lips quirked up slightly. I brushed an invisible strand of hair from her face and tucked I behind her ear.

She shifted in her sleep before her eyes opened slowly.

Her eyes met mine and she began smiling but it froze mid way before it fell and turned to a frown.

Then anger shoot through her eyes.

"What the heck are you doing here?" She said sitting up right trying to get away from me, which revealed breast in the process.

My eyes fell on her chest and I couldn't help but smirk before looking back at her.

Her frown had hardened as she covered herself with her hands.

"Ugh!" She groaned and facing the opposite side of the tub, she got out of the tub. Revealing her naked back, from neck to heel.

She had her hands covering two parts of her as she made her way to where the towels were. She took one and wrapped herself with it before she turned and glared at me.

"C'mon babe, why are you mad at me?" I asked sweetly

She came to the tub to drain the water before she stormed out of the bathroom.

I followed like a lost puppy.
