Mad Dash

Looking back, middle school was always so awkward for me. I learned a lot though Playing Never Have I Ever", "7 Minutes in Heaven", even "Cards Against Humanity" . Lol. I was so self conscious though. The very thought of playing a game requiring me to  get up close and personal with anyone scared me. Not to mention, the choices in cute boys at the time weren't exactly cream of the crop if you know what I mean. We did it anyway.

Fast forward to Senior year in high school, hormones and all, it's close to Christmas, and break couldn't come any quicker. It's literally like the feeling of watching paint dry; boring and time stands still.  I could really use the break.  To pass the time I think about graduation. It IS coming quick and I have no idea what career I want to pursue in this day and age, or if I'm even meant for college. Just as my mind wanders from "Past Avenue" to Future Boulevard", I get called into the "Present" by Mr. Sturniolo, my philosophy teacher. He kindly asks me what I want to do with the rest of my life. I mention I was just thinking about that. I told him I'm not sure if college is for me. He said, "that's ok, it really isn't for everyone. Think about what you love to do". "I have four sons doing what they love". I said I like photography and concerts, maybe I could shoot action shots at shows? (Ah, yes I remember 3 of his sons.") The "Triplets" graduated before me.  I used to go their lacrosse games.  They were so frickin hot but I had no chance with any of them. I jokingly told Mr.  Sturniolo I should talk to them and get tips (🤦‍♀️😂😂) on editing. He agreed and said to see him after class. The clock rings 3:00 on the dot. I made a mad dash to the front of the room.  After composing myself, feeling like an awkward little girl, he said he would talk to the three sons to see if they would help. I thanked him and gave him my phone number. I was so grateful and appreciated him so much. I secretly fantasized maybe the triplets would ask me to hang out. If not, I hoped for good advice at least. 👍🙂
