Akira opened her eyes seeing Dante still asleep and her head was pounding like someone took a jackhammer and started pounding on her head as she thought, 'Oh God, I'm never doing that again' "Man", she groaned, "this is a pain. Never allowing myself to do that again" She got up and walked to the bathroom and turned on the radio that had a CD in it while she turned on the shower. After the shower, she changed into her outfit and turned off the radio before walking out and walked downstairs for some breakfast.

        Annabelle opened her eyes and let out a small yawn as a pair of strong arms wrapped themselves tighter around her into a protective embrace and Vergil's face nuzzled into her back. "Vergil", she groaned, "Come on, we gotta get up. If we don't, someone will walk in on us" Vergil said nothing as he merely growled before opening his eyes. He didn't like the idea of Dante walking in to see him and Annabelle sleeping together and he would never let it down. Vergil lifted himself and hovered over Annabelle and said, "If anyone asks, tell them you and Gliver slept in different rooms" "You don't want Dante knowing you're alive", Annabelle surmised, "I can understand that" 

        She looked at his chest and saw many scratches on his chest while she unknowingly took her hand and placed it on one of the cuts, just above his heart. Vergil took her hand as Annabelle said, "Vergil, I don't want you to do this anymore. You've already lost to Mundus, and for all I know, he's trying to control you now" She took a deep breath and said, "Come to my world with me. You'll be safe there. I can finish up collage and-" "Annabelle", Vergil said, "I can't go with you. I'm only here to make sure you get home" Annabelle sighed and said, "But, what will happen to you once I go home?" "I may go back to the Demon World and from there on, I do not know" He kissed her forehead gently, which Annabelle thought it was a bit out of character for him as he crawled out of the bed and got dressed after putting the bandages on him. "Wait a few minutes to come out", he said before opening and closing the door. Annabelle looked down with her hair in her face with a few tears falling down her face, but she quickly wiped them away and got dressed. She hurried downstairs and yawned as she heard her name being called by Akira, making the young ice woman turn to her friend and ask, "What's wrong, 'Lauren'?" "Gliver's found a way to help you get home", she said.

        "I'm sorry", Annabelle said with confusion, "Me?" "Yeah", Akira said, "I've decided to stay here. I feel deep in my heart that I belong here and that this is my home" Akira looked away and said, "Plus, Dan-er, 'Tony' and I…we-" "It's alright, 'Lauren'", Annabelle said, "I understand. If that's what you want, then go for it. Follow your heart" Akira smiled softly and said, "Who would've thought something like this would happen to us. We went from collage life to saving the world" "Yeah", Annabelle said before Dante yelled, "Girls, let's go. We can say the tearful goodbyes later" "Alright, Anthony", Akira said, "Hold your horses" They all made it to the park and Gliver began to make a circle with some writing and muttered a spell as he did so. "'Elsa'", Gliver said, "Give me your hand" Annabelle did so and Gliver used Annabelle's knife and cut her hand, causing blood to fall onto the circle as Gliver said, "Please forgive me, Miss Elsa, it will help with your blood so that way it can get you home" Annabelle nodded her head and said, "Ok" She turned to Dante, Akira, and Lady. "I guess this is goodbye then", she said.

        "Guess so", Dante said. Annabelle walked to Akira and hugged her lifelong friend and sister and said, "Take care of yourself. Kick some demon ass for me" Akira laughed as she hugged Annabelle back and said, "You rarely curse, but I will. I have a badass devil hunter here by my side" Both of them giggled as they let go and Annabelle hugged Lady and said to her, "Try not to give them a hard time" "I'll try not too", she replied, placing a hand on Annabelle's shoulder. Now, it was Dante's turn as she hugged the half-devil and said, "I'm sorry about your brother, Dante", Annabelle said, "I have a feeling the next time you see him, you won't recognize him" Dante just smirked and said, "Don't sweat the small stuff, ok babe" "Take care of her", Annabelle said with seriousness, "I trust you to keep her safe" "I will", was all he said as he hugged her back, but let her go and said, "Best get going home" Annabelle smiled softly and began to walk to the circle, stopping before she got in it and said, "Gliver, thank you for everything" Gliver just bowed his head and said, "Have a safe journey, Elsa" She stepped into the circle and it began to glow. Annabelle felt some tears fall from her face as she closed her eyes and thought, 'I will never forget you guys'

        Annabelle opened her eyes and saw she was in her college dorm, but something was different. She saw Akira's belongings were gone, but her stuff was still there. She went to the mirror closest to her and saw she was in her old high school JROTC t-shirt and some shorts. She saw her phone and quickly went to her photos and saw all the pictures of Akira were gone. 'It's like she never existed in this world', she thought. "The game", she exclaimed, making her go to her Playstation and turned it on. She went to the pictures that were on the game and saw a picture of Dante and Akira in the third game. Dante stood beside Akira with one arm around her and Ebony in his hand pointing it at the viewer as if saying, "You touch her, I'll kill you" Another had Akira all by herself with her sword out in one hand, her bow in another with her hair flying in the air. "She's a part of the story now", Annabelle said when knocking came from her door and a voice saying, "Annabelle, come on! We gotta go" "Ok" she replied, after turning the system off.

        "Ericka", Annabelle said after walking out the door, "Did you ever know someone by the name Akira Bloodgrave?" "Who are you talking about?", the long light blonde haired girl said, "You've been playing too much Devil May Cry have you?" Annabelle laughed and said, "Yeah, I guess so" "Well, let's go", Ericka said, "Kaiden's got this really cool car and she's wanting to test drive it"

        Akira saw the magic circle vanish after Annabelle walked in. "She'll be fine, babe", Dante said, "She's safe in your world and is away from Mundus" She then wrapped her arms around him and then screamed out with tears falling like a dam in her eyes broke. Her only best friend was gone but safe, and yet Akira felt devastated, causing her to think, 'Maybe deep down, Dante felt like this when Vergil fell, and now I'm feeling the same way' "It's ok, babe", Dante said as he gently wrapped his arms around her as she let out any emotion she could think of. "I-I don't know w-why I'm like this", Akira sobbed, "m-maybe I'm just happy sh-she's safe" Dante lifted her head and began to wipe the tears away and said, "Devils never cry, Akira" She smiled and said, "It's like what Elsa said, 'Even a devil may cry when they lose a loved one'" "Yeah", Dante sighed, "maybe" They looked to Gliver, but he was gone as Lady looked around and said, "Well, looks like someone's late for their goodbyes to Annabelle" Akira wiped her tears away and said as the drew Sasuke, "Well, let's give them a warm sword to their necks" Dante got out Ebony and Ivory and said, "Then come on, babes!" They all said at the same time, "Let's Rock!

What happened next? Nothing really. We took care of all the remaining devils, and that was it. I still have a job to do which is to eliminate every last demon, and to make sure that monsters like my father never happened again. And they promised to help me hunt down the demons, even though one is part one himself. I've learned that there are any humans as evil as any devil, as well as kind and compassionate demons in this universe. I've learned of two so-called devils that are able to shed tears for those they care about. That's enough for me to believe in them.

        Dante stood back looking at his shop and nodded his head in approval before walking back inside. He opened the doors and saw that Akira was leaning against the pool table as she asked, "Good?" "Yep", Dante said as he smiled at her before kissing her. He walked over to his desk, kicking the chair and making it flip and landing on all fours and he sat with his propped up on the desk. He looked around and said to himself, "Now, I can start my business"

Oh, speaking of those kind devils, they finally decided on the name of their shop. It took quite awhile for them to pick one. Wanna know the name?

        The phone suddenly rang as Akira walked over to his desk while Dante slammed his foot onto the desk, making the phone fly into his outstretched hand with the sign outside flickering on as he said, "Devil May Cry"

The final and last chapter of the story. There is gonna be a sequel but revolving around Akira and Dante that will take place during the anime from start to finish. There may be a story just for Vergil and Annabelle but it will take place after the events of DMC 1. Hope you've enjoyed the story.
