Draco's P.O.V

Scorpius' first year of Hogwarts flew by and I was already on the platform waiting for him. Alone. Astoria and I had gotten into another argument so she decided she needed a little 'vacation' from me. Scorpius seemed like he had a good year from what I was hearing when he came back from breaks. As the train pulled up and then kids met their families, I spotted Scorpius. He was with another boy and when he hugged him goodbye, I noticed the little boy's turn a pinkish color. That wasn't all I noticed, his green eyes stood out. I looked around and saw the Weaselette but not Harry. I frowned and looked as my son came over towards me.

"Hi dad! Um where's mum?" He asked and I sighed.

"Your mother went on a little vacation for god only knows who long so it's just you and me." I smiled and he did too. "So tell me Scorp, who's that other boy you just hugged?"

"Oh Albie?  He's the first friend I made at Hogwarts." He smiled. "He's really sweet and very funny." He said and I smiled. We apparated back to our manor and he was talking my ear off about his new friend. "And he's super smart; he doesn't want to try out for Quidditch." He told me. "Although both of his parents were on the Quidditch team." He said and I nodded. "And sometimes he gets this cute blush on his cheeks." He said and I laughed. Making him something to eat, I turned to him.

"Sounds like someone has a crush." I said and he gasped.

            "Do not!" He defended.

"I think so." I said. "I remember talking just like that when I met someone." I smiled at the memory. "Tell me Scorp, what color are his eyes?"
"Oh they're the prettiest green I've ever seen!" He piped and I laughed.

"Yes my son, you have a crush." I told him and he paled.

"Oh my god! Do you hate me?" He asked and I looked at him with disbelief.

"Scorpius Hyperion, I could never hate you for something beyond your control." I said. "I think it's great you have a crush even if it is on a boy."
"Thank you dad." He smiled. I handed him the chicken I heated up for him and took a seat across from him sipping on tea.

"So tell me more about him." I said. "What are his parents like?"

"Oh his parents are divorced. He took it pretty hard and he doesn't like talking about it. His mother signs letters 'dad' referring to his step father." He told me and I frowned.

"What does he call his father?"

"Papa." He told me with a slight smile. "Guess who his father is!"
             "I have no idea."

"Harry Potter." He told and I stared at him.

"Harry Potter as in the hero of the wizarding world?" I asked and he nodded. A slight pain in my heart stung and I frowned.

            "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." I said shaking my head. I pulled a fake smile and looked at him. "I'm glad you have a crush." I said and he smiled.

"Thank you dad... um what will mum think?" He asked worriedly. I stood up and kissed his forehead.

"I'm sure she'll love you either way Scorp. I'll be in my study. Try doing some of your summer work."

"Okay." He said and I walked to my study. I shut the door and opened the drawer to my desk. Pulling out a picture, I placed it on my desk. It was a picture of Harry and I that he took in the room of requirement. I was sleeping on his shoulder and he made a funny face before kissing my cheek. Tears silently fell down my face and I kissed the picture gently.

"It's better to have love and lost than to have never loved at all." I whispered and gently put my head on my desk.

At dinner Scorpius was looking at me oddly.

            "Yes?" I turned to him.

"Can I invite Albie here sometime?" He asked and I smiled.

"Are you gonna ask him out?"
"No! He can't know that I like him." His eyes widened. "It'll ruin our friendship and then I'll lose my other friend Rose!"
             "Who's Rose?"
"His cousin. They're pretty close." He told me and I smirked.

            "Weasley's kid?"
"Yeah, you went to school with all of them right?"
"Yeah her parents and Albie's father known as the golden trio." I told him smiling. "Spent a lot of time trying to bring them down."

            "You bullied them?!"

"Yes but I'm not proud of it." I said and he frowned.

"Dad! It's going to ruin my chances at dating Albie!"

"I thought you just said you couldn't let him know." I said and he blushed.

"Well I mean if we were to date." He huffed. "His father will not allow me to date him if I was your son." He said.

"Scorpius, relax there bud." I chuckled. "Harry and I were... friends for a little bit. So he won't mind." I said and he perked up.

            "Really?"
"Really." I nodded my head. He smiled and continued eating. Once we were finished eating, he cleaned his plate.

"I think I'm going to owl him."

            "Alright Scorp."

Albus' P.O.V

I was lying on my bed staring at the ceiling because I was bored. My mother and Dean were having a few people over, people that used to hang out with her and papa. As I heard a pecking on my window, I looked at it and it was an owl. Sighing, I got out bed and let the owl in. I took the parchment from it and gave the owl a treat.

Hey Albie!
I know it's only been a few hours since we left school but I miss you (I know you blushed). I talked to my father and he said it was cool if we hung out some time. If you don't want to I totally understand but I would appreciate it if we did. Because how am I supposed to spend the whole entire summer without my best friend? Anyway, just let me know.

-Scorpius Malfoy

I smiled at the letter. I wanted to hang out with him but when I told my mother about meeting him, she wasn't too happy. She claimed his father was a 'filthy death eater' and then I shouldn't hang out with him. I was really upset because not only did I want to be his friend but I still had a really big crush on him. James tried telling my mother that Scorpius probably wasn't like him but she wouldn't listen. So I sat on my bed frowning when James walked into the room.

"Why the long face little bro?" He asked and I looked up at him. I handed him the letter and he frowned slightly.

"I'm sorry little bro." He said. "But maybe when we're with Pa, he'll let you go see him. Mum doesn't need to know."

"You want me to lie to her?" I asked and he shrugged. "I-I can't do that.'
             "Why not?"

"Lily will tattle on me." I said and he frowned.

"No she won't Albus, she's nine turning ten."

            "I guess." I sighed.

"Maybe you should tell him how you feel."
"No! I'll lose him as a friend and I don't want that. He's like the only friend I have other than Rose." I said and he sighed.

"That's because you're shy Albie, you need to start talking to other people. Maybe join Quidditch with me."
"No, I don't want to do that." I shook my head and he sighed.

"Well you'll make other friends as the years will go on. Remember just ask papa when we're there and I'm sure he'll let you."
             "Okay thank you James."

            "Of course little bro."

***

"Hey papa?" I asked the next week we saw him. Mum agreed to let us see him for a month in the summer.

            "Yeah Al?" He asked.

"C-can I go see my friend?" I asked and he looked at me.

"Yeah sure where does he live?" I asked.

"Um he lives down the street so James could walk me there." I told him.

"Alright yeah. Do his parents know you're coming?"
"Um yeah his father was okay with it."
"Okay sure, I'll see you back later." He said and I nodded. I hugged him and then met up with James.

"So you and Scorpius will be alone?" He asked wiggling his eyebrows. I blushed and shoved him playfully.

"Stop James, he doesn't like me like that." I huffed. "We're just friends."

"Yeah for now." He winked. "Come on Albie, he has to like you. Who wouldn't like you?"

            "Scorpius." I said.

"You never know." We made the short walk to his manor which was probably the same size as my mother's house but that's what he called it. James walked me to the door and knocked on the door with the knocker. A few moments later, a man who Scorpius looked exactly like opened the door.

            "H-hi sir, I-I'm here to s-see S-Scorpius." I stuttered and I heard James chuckle.

"Ah you must be Albus. Scorpius has told me a lot about you." He said and I blushed.  "I'm Draco Malfoy, Scorpius' father."
"N-nice to meet you." I said. His gaze fell onto James.

"James Potter sir." He shook Mr. Malfoy's hand. "I was just walking Albus here."
"Oh do you guys live nearby?"
"We're with my father right now." James explained. "He lives just down the street."
"Oh I see well Albus come in and I'll make sure he gets home safely." Mr. Malfoy said.

"Thank you sir." James shook his hand again and walked away. I walked in with Mr. Malfoy.

"Scorpius! Albus is here." He called and turned to me. "Do you want anything?" He asked and I shook my head. Scorpius walked down the stairs and smiled.

"Albie!" He ran over to me and hugged me. Trying to hide my blush, I hugged him back. "Dad were gonna go into my room."

"Alright." His father said. He grabbed my hand and I blushed again as he pulled me upstairs.

            "S-sorry I didn't come sooner." I stuttered.

"It's alright." He smiled as we walked to his room.  "But it has been a month. Why couldn't you come sooner?" He asked frowning.

"M-my mother wasn't happy that we w-were friends so I-I had to wait until I saw my father." I stuttered and he frowned.

"It's because my father bullied them."

"I-I tried telling her you weren't like him. S-she wouldn't listen but he seems really nice."

"Yeah he's great." He smiled. He walked into his room and he dropped my hand that I didn't realize we were holding. He walked over to his bed and wanted me to follow. I did and sat close to him but further away so we weren't on top of one another.

"Where's your mum?" I asked and he sighed.

"Oh she's been on vacation since I got back." He said and I frowned. 'Vacation' was what my father took when he moved out.

"Oh." I nodded and he smiled.

"So what do you want to do?"
