I was born from regrets.
I should've never helped, I should've taken the chance.
No one will treat me like this ever again.
I was born the exact moment I was betrayed, and I seek revenge daily.
Archduke will not best me again, nor that he will ever.
The original Prince Y/N is too stuck up with being right or being the bigger man.
He takes his father's words as a life lesson.
But for me? No...
I MUST get my revenge. This is the reason I was created, I was born.
I'm what Prince Y/N couldn't be.
I am the ALTER Prince Y/N.
-- Prince Y/N Alter, ???. (Excerpt from, ???.)
Y/N: "Y-Y/N. Pri-Prince Y/N. It's me..."
As the questionable Jeanee began to press harder on her chokehold, she remembered from her counterpart that this was Y/N, the reason why he sought after her was unknown.
As Y/N began to gasp for more air, and with the fact that there aren't any servants around, she could end him right now.
Feeling him tap onto her arm and wanting to call it quits, she succeeded and let Y/N go.
He backed up off and was panting for air, his Endurance was ranked at C, so in terms of anything, his body is very fragile.
Y/N: "Phew...that's not how I managed a welcome back."
Jeanne: "A welcome back? No one wants to give you a welcome back. The only thing you provide is almost a meltdown of the training room."
She began to walk away, leaving Y/N shocked and devastated. This just proved that word does spread like wildfire.
Y/N: "I-it was an accident!"
Catching up, the two both walk side by side, and the Prince concluded that this was NOT the same Jeanne from before. Her appearance was different, and her voice was a bit dark and sadistic.
Jeanee: "Accident or not, you have proven that a servant like you should be kept on a leash. How could you use your Noble Phantasm without your master?"
Y/N: "Uh...I think I have Battle Continuation at A, wait, no that's not it..."
She sighs and takes a sharp turn to the left as Y/N followed. This is the main hallway, and many different paths branch out from here.
Jeanee: "Regardless, your Parameters must have been at a high level too..."
Y/N: "Yeah, so Jeanee...what's with the new hair color? Last time I remember it was blonde, but this tone of grey is nice too-"
Jeanne quickly turned around, making both of them stop, and looked at Y/N's creative (E/C) eyes.
Jeanne: "DON'T confuse me with THAT Jeanee. If you haven't realized, I am Jeanee Alter. Jalter is what they call me."
Y/N: "Jalter...? Is that a nickname Jeanee?"
Jalter narrows her eyes, and this cues Y/N to nervously smile as she continues to walk.
Y/N: "Oh...so you are the alter, huh? Why were you born?"
Jalter: "Huh?"
Y/N: "Unlike heroic spirits like us who are very, very original and come from our legend. Alters are born when we have sometimes a deep or dark hatred for something that has happened in our said legends."
As surprising as it sounds, Y/N seemed to be very intelligent when it comes to servants and alter backgrounds and history.
Jalter: "I was born when I saw the chicken cross the road."
Y/N: "Woah...! Really?"
Jalter: "No."
She silently laughs at playing with Y/N's curiosity as she successfully dodged the question.
Y/N: "Haha, very funny. You and my alter would get along nicely."
Jalter: "You have an alter?"
Y/N: "Yeah, his name is too long so I shorten it to DN."
Jalter: "DN...what does it stand for?"
Y/N: "Deez nuts! Ha!"
The Prince continues to laugh, and laugh harder each second. He successfully got Jalter back, and he doesn't even have an Alter, to begin with.
Jalter: "Haha. Very funny."
She spoke in a low, monotone voice. If a voice could kill, it would be that.
But her face did lift up a bit when Y/N mentioned his alter. Does she perhaps take alters into a more friendly account?
Y/N: "I-I'm sorry...you kinda did get me so I had to settle the score."
Jalter: "Very surprising for a Prince who never seeks revenge."
Y/N: "This is a different situation. Didn't you like, get captured and was made into a living human barbecue?"
Jalter shoots him a glare, and it shuts up the
Prince quite easily.
Y/N: "...I get it, too soon, too soon..."
The two walk into the cafeteria, and for the first time in Y/N's career here in Chaldea, he tried not to make a scene again.
Sitting down, Jalter had what she had always grabbed in here, she didn't come here much but always wanted to grab the light cinnamon rolls the warmed up her cold and dark body.
Y/N grabbed a beef jerky pack. He didn't know what it exactly was, but with the words labeled "BEEF", he couldn't pass it up.
The two sat down across from each other, if it was just any other servant, second by second she would have been fed up with them, and most likely raged into an outburst.
But that wasn't the case with Y/N. Her heart was at a standpoint, Y/N treated her as of they were friends already and had been friends for a very, very long time. She also felt a nervous and bubbling sensation every time she looked at his face or talked to him.
Surely this wasn't her own doing, surely...this feeling must come from her counterpart, Jeanee.
Y/N: "Uh...Jalter? Is there something on my face?"
She snapped out of her thought and didn't realize she was seemingly staring at him. She kept her head down and spoke.
Jalter: "You remind me a lot of this one servant here..."
Y/N: "Oh?"
Jalter: "Yes. You both share the same name. He was summoned a few months ago and is extremely strong, but it is often nowhere to be found, and lazy too."
Y/N: "Class?"
Jalter: "Foreigner. And actually, one of the few we can attempt to understand."
Y/N: "Wow..."
Jalter: "Besides, you're only different from him because of your cute face."
The Prince's face lit up, and soon, a blush arose. But then again, he couldn't tell if she was joking or being serious.
Y/N rubbed it off and continued to struggle opening the beef jerky pack.
Y/N: "U-uh...thank you. I heard that we battle things called...singularities or whatever."
Jalter: "It's true, but master usually uses the servants with class advantages or new ones, so if one appears, expect yourself to be called up."
Y/N: "Alright. You know, Jalter, if you are ever lonely, you can head to my room."
Jalter: "First, I have no reason to even think about going to another servant, and second, why do you say?"
Y/N: "I don't know, just the way you do everything is so lonely. I understand you are supposed to be an alter and hate life or whatever, but just look at yourself, you ordered two slices of bread with cinnamon and cream and only eat one."
Jalter looks down, and what Y/N said was true. She only ate one and began to pick at the other.
Jalter: "They are called cinnamon buns, Y/N."
Y/N: "And it's called being social and having friends, Jalter."
Starstruck by his response, Jalter wondered.
Why?
Why is it that he's worried about what she does, or who she talks to anyway?
Jalter never seemed to care about the way she did things, nor did any servant.
So why? Why did Y/N speak on this?
Y/N: "Room 321, if you are ever feeling lonely, you know where to meet me."
Smiling, he walked off with his hands in his pockets. Jalter looked down at the cinnamon and thought about what Y/N said.
Down the main hall, Y/N continued to fumble with the beef jerky pack.
Y/N: "Dang. Why do they make these packets so hard to open?"
Mustering up all of his strength, to the points his armguards from his armor had formed, the beef jerky packed finally opened.
Walking to his room now, he expected Jalter to appear any moment, but I guess she's trying to prove that she does indeed have friends and social life.
As he began to dine on the beef jerky, he noticed something.
A sticky note on the wall. Written in neat, cute, handwriting.
The Prince wanted to see what this was all about and took it off the wall for him to read.
Come to the simulation room as soon as you can. Machine 2.
Simulation room? Never heard of that in his life, and who was A?
Well, it appeared to be that whoever "A" was attempted on writing out their full name. Compromised of only 7 letters, only 3 were readable, including A.
But Y/N wasn't sure if it was Ast or Azf, so it was confusing.
Whoever the person was, they wanted Y/N as of now. And the Prince could not decline the offer.
Heading out of his room again, in a hurry. He followed the signs that lead to the simulation room, and when he entered...
It was extraordinary.
Many, and I mean, many servants came here. Some regularly or some who just wanted to try it out.
Needless to say, since servants can not walk outside of Chaldea area, and since most of it is white, snowy, mountains, they use these machines to escape into whatever area and period to see what they've affected so much of their region.
Looking at the sticky note now, Y/N looked for machine #2, and it was for servants who wanted to go along with a companion to see it together.
Unlike most vacant ones, where the contents inside the machine are viewable, and, and when in use, have a curtain over the area where you are supposed to enter, #2 already had a curtain draped around.
Meaning...
Someone is already there.
Surely if someone wasn't there, it would be out in the open like anyone else, but the curtain was hungover.
Y/N contemplated about this, but then again, it was either this or sitting in your room doing absolutely nothing.
Y/N did not choose the latter.
Entering #2, it was quite large and had seats where you could seat before your spirit form would be transferred into the simulation world.
However, there was already someone there.
In a brown cloak, their head was hung down, and when they heard footsteps enter, they motioned their hand.
???: "Pl-please make sure the curtain is down."
Obviously whoever was behind the cloak was a female. They tried to make their voice deep and mysterious, but the voice was still somehow cheery.
Y/N: "It's down. So, mind telling me who you are? No need for me to tell you my name if you wanted to see me...personally."
They stood up, all while still hiding their face.
Clearing their throat, they began to speak.
???: "Eh-hem! I am As-"
A sword dropped and onto the wall, the handle pressed a big, bright red button.
That was the button to start the simulation.
Y/N instantly grabbed his sword as well, this was serious. They brought a sword and intended to hurt him.
Simulation beginning in 3 seconds, transferring from Physical Form to Spirit Form.
Y/N: "What did you do?! And why is a sword there?!"
???: "I-I can explain!"
But there was no explaining to do. 3 seconds had already passed.
The hooded figure became particles of rose pink as Y/N tried to escape, but he was turned into ashes.
Separately, their spirit forms were transferred into a TV, and into the simulation, they went...
Simulation World
Modern World
France, 2020.
A vortex opened up from the sky and dropped the two in their physical forms in a café.
The two perfectly sat down on a chair, and Y/N already had begun to drink coffee out of a cup. Noticing this, he stopped his action and looked around.
Y/N: "Whe-where am I? Where are we?"
???: "Easy, to answer your question mister..."
The hooded figure took of their cloak, and magically, the cloak itself traveled through the open window and escaped.
Seeing the full identity of the hooded figure, Y/N was shocked. So shocked, he didn't realize that hot steaming coffee was pouring out from the cup and onto the floor.
Astolfo: "It is I! Astolfo! Did you miss me Y/N?"
