Zap- Potential PJO Fanfic
(A/N set a couple months after BoO, Leo's back, Solangelo is together, Jason's busy being pontifex, ect. ect. Not a serious fanfic. Made to be amusing.)
"Zap? What the Hades is Zap?" asked Piper.
She sat down in the grass next to Jason and Percy. She held a pitcher of lemonade. They were sitting in front of Cabin One, which they were constantly reminded of as claps of thunder rang out every so often.
"Oh, no. Not that stupid game again," groaned Annabeth, sitting at Percy's side. She had a small stack of red solo cups.
Percy grinned.
"I don't get it. What's Zap?" repeated Piper. She took the cups from Annabeth and poured them each a glass of lemonade.
"It's a game," explained Percy, taking a swig of his lemonade. "One person writes someone's name on the back of someone's hand. That person isn't allowed to look at the name for a certain amount of time. If they look, they have to ask that person out."
Piper nearly choked on her lemonade.
"They have to what?"
"It's a game for middle schoolers," scoffed Annabeth. "Plus, Chiron hates it. They played it some last summer. Everyone who played it ended up getting dish duties."
Piper shuddered. While dishwashing might not seem so bad, at Camp Half-Blood it involved hot liquid. Very hot liquid. AKA, lava.
"Come on, Annie. Can't we just be kids once in a while?" pleaded Percy, taking her hand.
Annabeth's face softened. She kissed him on the forehead.
"Of course, Seaweed Brain. And don't call me Annie."
Percy grinned.
"Will do. I mean, will not do. I mean... ack, you know what I mean."
"Having a bit of trouble with your words?" laughed a voice from behind them.
Piper jumped. She turned to see Nico. He had just shadow traveled out of the shadow cast by the ever-present storm cloud over Cabin One.
"You idiot, Death Breath!" hollered a voice across the clearing. A roll of Ace bandages flew through the air and smacked Nico in the forehead.
"It's like you don't want to get better," grumbled Will, walking up to them. "Oh, hey Percy. Annabeth. Jason. Piper."
"'Sup," nodded Percy.
"What're you guys talking about?" asked Will, sitting on the ground across from Percy.
"Nosy," snorted Nico, sitting next to him.
"I'm not the one who just shadow traveled into their conversation," shot back Will.
"It's a game called Zap," explained Jason.
"You know what?" said Percy. "Why don't we round everyone up who wants to play, and then explain it? 'Cuz I'm not explaining it two billion times."
"We talked about hyperboles, Perce," chastised Annabeth.
"Right. Whatever," snorted Percy.
"We can do it in my cabin," suggested Jason. "It's not like there's anyone in there, anyways."
Piper stood up.
"I'll see if I can, ehm, persuade Chiron into giving us permission," she said devilishly.
"Good luck with that," snorted Annabeth.
