From the window, I smile and watch the kids play in the tree house while I wait for the peanut butter brownies to finish baking in the oven. Watching the two play king and queen, I feel two arms wrap around my waist from behind, pulling me close against the owner of the arms' chest.

"Hello, beautiful." I hear in my ear, Matthew's sultry voice ringing in my ear. I feel a sweet smile grow on my face as I lean my head back onto my husband's shoulder and look back up at him.

"Hello, handsome." I greet back, his chocolate eyes staring down at me. Smiling, he moves down to nuzzle against my neck. "Watching the kids play?" he asks, gently swaying us back and forth.

I smile more, nodding. "I can't believe the girls are getting so big already! It seems as if yesterday, they were just learning how to play with their building blocks, and now," I sigh softly, gesturing toward the backyard with my hand. "they're playing in the tree house we never thought they'd be able to climb into," Matthew chuckles.

"It doesn't help that I'm over six feet tall," He points out, making me grin and shake my head. "No, it doesn't," I agree with him, turning toward him. "Because of you, we're going to have towering kids." I joke with him, earning laughter from both of us.

The ringing timer for the oven then interrupts us from our close embrace, causing me to disconnect from Matthew's arms and walk into the kitchen. Grabbing two pink oven mitts from the drawer, I slide them on before opening the stove and taking the baking pan out to cool. "Are those... are those peanut butter and chocolate chip brownies?!" Matthew asks, excitedly.

Grinning, I chuckle at his childlike excitement and nod while putting the pan on top of the stove. In one quick moment, Matthew picks me up from behind and swings me around a couple of times before placing me on the counter and kissing my lips. "I have the best wife in the entire world!" He exclaims, making me giggle.

"Calm yourself," I tell him, placing my now oven-mitt-free hands on the sides of his face. "You're a bit wild today, aren't you?" I point out, only earning a chuckle back.

"Of course," He answers as if the answer was purely obvious. I instantly laugh and shake my head in response.

"Nevermind," I tell him. "I just remembered you're wild every day, my love," I note, moving my hands down to take his. He smiles in response, leaning in closer. "You know it." He whispers, his eyes looking down to my lips.

He then moves to place his lips above mine until we hear the back door almost slam open. "Dad! Mom!" We hear Blanche and Lydia yell just before Matthew gets knocked over by the two girls running at him. As he groans on the floor, I lightly laugh at the scene before hopping off of the counter and onto my feet. Beside my feet, Matthew lays on the floor with the kids crawling all over him, laughing as they do so. "Blanche, Lydia, get off your father," I tell them, covering my giggling mouth.

They instantly listen to me and stand up before Matthew releases a held-in breath at the loss of pressure against his abdomen. "Girls, next time you do that," He begins, his voice small and still not over the double-tackle he just went through. "Warn me first."

They both giggle in response before jumping up from the floor and running over to the stove, only to gasp at the brownies. "Later," I interrupt them before they can even touch them. "After dinner," I tell them, turning my eyes over to my husband. "Same goes for you."

They all 'Awww' at this before the girls look at each other and break into grins as if they know what each other is thinking. They both then run back out of the house and to the tree house where I presume they will continue playing their little game.

"And there they go to play King and Queen once more," Matthew notes, standing back up and straightening his clothes out. "they are unbelievably strong for six-year-olds." He notes, holding a hand to his sternum with a slightly pained face.

"I'm blaming that one on you too," I tell him, grinning in amusement. Shaking his head playfully, he reaches out and pulls me back into his arms.

"If they got those attributes after me, then what did they get from you?" He jokes, holding me close. "It did take both of us to make them, you know." He reminds me, making me giggle with blushing cheeks.

"Oh, that's easy," I tell him. "their beauty comes from me, of course," I explain.

Instead of making a joke, Matthew sweetly smiles at me before leaning in like earlier. "Now, that, I can't argue with," He tells me, kissing me once more while moving his hands to the sides of my face. Just like him, I believe I have the best husband as well.
