elizabeth's pov.

"Be back soon, Elizabeth. Don't go wandering around the school— this building is like a labyrinth." The tall, salmon-haired man— Gilthunder instructed, lifting his gaze up from the book he read. I curtly nodded, leering towards another familiar man— his hair dark and blonde, styled into a messy quiff.

"Don't go getting lost around here Elizabeth, see ya." Howzer added, gesturing his hand into a small wave— leaning his back onto the chair as he continued to stare at the ceiling. "Right. I'll be back before lunch!" I replied as they both hummed in response, soon exciting the classroom. I quietly shut the door, head alternating left and right to search the vacant hallways.

I sighed, letting go of the knob. Why must they think i'm still 5? I began to walk, my stomach rumbling— though I had already eaten lunch. I silently chuckled, bringing a hand to lightly pat my stomach. "Maybe a refreshment will do." I muttered, recalling on where the lunch hall was— or most importantly where the beloved vending machines were.

...

After turning various corridors, and almost getting lost— a duo of vending machines came in sight. Eyes lighting up, I reached for the pockets of my skirt— pulling out a small wallet that contained coins. I walked towards the machines, eager to buy a refreshment— only to be occupied by another presence whom was already there.

I knotted my eyebrows, slowing my pace— Did I somehow miss him? I pondered, instantly recognizing who the boy before me was. A quiet gasp slipped from my mouth, the incident from this morning replaying in my head— and a strike of embarrassment showering over my body.

"Are you just going to stand there and watch me?" He flatly called out, his eyes not once leaving the surface of the machine. An unplanned shriek fled from my mouth— my heart rapidly thrumming in nervousness. "N-No! I was just—" I gulped, biting the bottom of my lip as I wondered why I was suddenly choking on my words.

The blonde grunted in response, inserting his coins as the machine dispensed his order. He grabbed his drinks and quietly stepped aside, eyes meeting mine— my heart seeming to start pacing faster. With that, he turned around with no words— off to his leave. I sucked in my breath, taking a slight step forward. "W-Wait!"

meliodas' pov.

I halted, slightly glancing over my shoulder— sparing her a look. "Um— a-about this morning—" She lightly spoke, cupping her hands together as her cheeks tinted pink. "I'm sorry, about this morning—" She continued, a smile growing onto her lips. "I hope I didn't cause you any trouble— or damage you in any way.." The silver-head continued, lightly raising her shoulders to a shrug.

I arched an eyebrow, wheeling myself forwards to face her. "As I can recall, you were the one who fell." I stated, tightly holding on to the two cans that nearly slipped off my grip. She chuckled, briefly fiddling with the hems of her skirt. "A-Ah.. well- i'm fine! It's no biggie!" The silver-head declared, a smile plastered onto her lips.

I stood quietly, and blankly— wondering why she was being so kind, so nice to me. I could clearly recall that I was rude and cold to her earlier— even now. "Once again, i-i'm sorry." She innocently apologized, her sweet manner interrupting my thoughts— my heart unreasonably pacing faster which startled me.

I swiftly shook my head, quickly clearing my thoughts— locking gazes with her for a brief moment. "It's— it's fine." I uttered, her innocent, vivid blue eyes seeming to sparkle. I briskly looked away, swallowing as the fast-pacing of my heart continued— it annoyed me, but I had no idea how to stop it.

"Well- um, it's nice meeting you again!" She stated, her smile never leaving her lips— her fingers gently pressing on the buttons of the machine, her drink soon dispensing. I simply nodded, humming in response— mulishly out of words. I, all of a sudden felt weak— soft. Ah, I know this feeling all too familiar.

Though I didn't allow it to last long, soon getting to my senses. "I'm going to get going." I spoke, alternating my body— my back soon facing her as I began to walk away. "A-Alright! See you around!" The silver-haired responded, her fruity voice echoing in my ears. I halted, though hesitated for a brief moment— sparing the girl one last glance. "You too."
