This broke Eleanor's heart further. Throughout the whole ten years, Raven became her closest friend and confidant like Valerie. "Jean didn't mean for it to happen, right?"
"No, she didn't. It was that force inside of her." She apprised. "It's slowly corrupting her."
"I know. That's why I -- I have to return so I can banish it from our universe."
Raven nodded, grabbing her hands. Eleanor noticed was a certain sadness within her friend. "Save her, El. Do everything you can to save her. Jean's not beyond help yet."
"I will do everything I can to save her, you know that."
"I know." She pursed her lips. "Hey, you've been given a chance to come back. Don't waste it, okay?" Raven squeezed Eleanor's hands. "Your family still needs you. Erik still needs you. Jean still needs you. The whole world does right now."
Eleanor gripped Raven's hands back before pulling her into a hug. "I'll miss you so much." She sniffed. "I-I really will."
Her friend's hand rubbed her back in comfort. "I'll miss you all as well. God, I had a lot of things I wasn't able to say. El, tell Jean this isn't her fault, okay? And also tell Charles that I understand what he did." She said.
"I will."
The two slowly parted away from each other. "I'll see you all again. Oh, and please, do tell Valerie to stop crying. I can hear her until now."
Eleanor chuckled, sadly. "We'll see you again, Raven."
They both turned around, heading off to different directions until Raven called her once again. "And Eleanor," She spoke. "can you please tell Hank that I... I love him, please."
Eleanor nodded. "I will."
Raven smiled, forlorn. "Goodbye, Eleanor."
"Goodbye, Raven."
And with that, her old friend's apparition disappeared. Eleanor couldn't stop the tears streaming down her face. She was grieving for the loss of one of her friends. It was only until she felt another pair of slightly warm hands around her shoulders that she was brought back to her thoughts.
"Come on, Eleanor. We have to go."
Indeed, the hardest part of losing someone wasn't saying goodbye to them, but learning to live without them. She couldn't imagine how heartbroken everyone was right now with Raven's death.
Eleanor straightened her posture and wiped away her tears. "Yeah, let's go. We have a long journey ahead of us."
God knew she wanted to spend more time with Raven, she still had to return. She had to. Eleanor still had to save Jean, her daughter, and the world from the destruction the Phoenix force will cause. She also still had to save Erik from his possible fate.
Because, consequences be damned, she will not anything happen to him and their children.
Not on her watch.
