Legolas P.O.V

My heart pounded. As I looked back into my bedroom, I relished something, I still had Leaiwen's bow. She would never forgive me if I took it with me, so, I scribbled her a note and left the bow in my room. (knew that this would be the first place she looked for me) I knew that I didn't have long at all before lily relised that I was missing. I drew one last breath and closed the door.
Suddenly it dawned on me what I was doing. The only person who knew that I was leaving was my father. I was leaving my home my friends and my family behind, and I might never see them again.
I smelt the air and the scent of earth and good food filled my lungs. But there was something else, a different smell, one that I knew.
Blood.
In the distance I herd footsteps, slow at first, then their pace quickened. I only just had time to duck behind a statue before Leaiwen came sprinting past me, straight into my bedroom, her legs scratched and covered in blood. This was my chance. I ran down the corridor towards the gate. Took one last look at the palace and ran. The guards were two busy Tolkien about the quality of the wine at supper, so they didn't see me.(see what I did there, Tolkien, see! Oh, never mind😀)

I knew that legolas was sad to go. He told me so himself. But he is a brave elf, and I'm sure that he'll learn to love being on his own adventure. After all, his mother was very brave, brave enough to die for her son. What in not sure about, is how Leaiwen will take this. I'll have to tell her about her past eventually. Or else she'll find out for herself. And that could be catastrophic, I'm not even sure that her father knows that he has a daughter. And one to Be proud of at that.

Legolas left for rivendel today, my heart almost broke to see him go. He might never return, but we must hope, hope that the threat of Mordor is defeated, and legolas returns safely and unharmed. I know that this is unlikely, I understand if, though I do not want it, Mordor wins this war. The mountain has been smoking for months now, and whole army's are marching southward. Middle earth is strong, but souron is stronger, the race of elves is declining, dwarves delve deeper into the mountain, leaving the rest of the people of middle earth behind, awakening evil things in the shadow. Our world is falling, we are falling with it. We shall perish.

My thoughts turned to Leaiwen. I can still remember the time when she told me to call her lily. I accidentally walked into her room whilst she was reading, my face when the so red, I think that you could've forged a sword on it! I apologised over and over again, but all she said was "it's fine! Just call me lily!" And the name stuck. I had only been riding for two hours, but I missed her already. Her soft, brown hair with the ginger and Blonde streaks, tumbling down, past her elbows. The blossom of her dark pink lips, and her eyes. Those eyes were what stood out in her face. They were as blue as the sky, and as deep as  the deepest ocean. I missed her  touch already. When she smiled at me, when we laughed together, ran together and shared our memories with each other, it just felt like I had a friend. And a good friend at that.
