{Sister?}

Miray quickly scrolled down, not wanting to look at the picture anymore. She didn't want to see that door ever again. She was even afraid to walk near the stairs that led to the basement.

She finally gave up searching for the picture and returned to her place between Vince and Dylan. She handed the phone to Dylan, thanking him again.

Vince passed her her ice cream plate, and she took it happily, "Thank you," she smiled up at him sweetly, dimples playing at the corners of her mouth. And she started digging in, enjoying her ice cream.

Vince couldn't resist a faint smile creepingover his face and gave a sweet peck on her cheeks, murmuring, "you're welcome".

For a few moments, Vince was so lost in her. She really seemed to enjoy her ice cream. But just like always, happy moments never last. That's why they are called moments...

The exterior door opened, and his father came in, followed by his new "Fiancé" and her twins.

Vince rolled his eyes, cursing under his breath.

Dylan looked at Arthur, then at the woman with the two kids, and frowned. He shoved a spoonful of chocolate ice cream into his mouth before he pointed at the woman and her twins with his empty spoon, "Who are these?" he exclaimed casually, though a bit too loud. And although his question would be considered rude and inappropriate, he was genuinely confused.

Dylan and Alex knew everything about Vince's family and vice-versa. Hence, this was his first time seeing this woman.

Alex gave him a warning look, and he shrugged stubbornly. He leaned closer to Vince, "Is she one of your missing aunts?" he whispered above Miray's head.

Vince gave his father a challenging look, then he looked at Dylan and smirked, "Oh, you haven't met their majesties? These are dad's new family. You know how he likes to play pretend? Well, this time, it seems like he is into witches,"

Dylan, Alex, and Miray all shifted their surprised gaze to where the woman was standing. It was Miray's first time seeing her dad's new "fiancé". Yesterday she wasn't focusing at all on what was happening.

Is she going to be her new mama?  She was very beautiful. Was Miray's first thought.

Miray shifted her gaze to the two kids standing beside the women. They were also pretty, and they looked alike! Miray stared at them in awe. They looked like dolls with their blue eyes and blond hair.

Arthur chose to ignore his son's remark this time and play it cool, "Hi boys, it's good you're all here." He greeted, walking toward them.

Everyone greeted him back, except Vince – of course...

"Take a seat, love." He gestured to Barbara to sit.

"Thank you, darling," Barbara smiled at him and sat on the empty sofa with her legs crossing; her kids sat next to her.

Vince nearly gagged at their fake play.

"Noah, honey, how are you doing?" Barbara asked, head held up high. It was apparent she thought too much of herself.

Noah felt a bit uncomfortable being addressed, but he answered her politely.

Fortunately for Noah, the door opened again and shifted all the attention to his grandma Karen and aunt Katherine who came in elegantly dressed.

"Fantastic, it's witches' gatherings party," Vince said sarcastically.

"Gramma!" Noah shouted happily; he ran toward her and hugged her. He liked his grandma a lot and vice-versa. He was her favorite, and she always spoiled him.

His grandma smiled and hugged him back; it's been a long time since she met her grandson. "Oh my, is that you, Noah? You're already grown up,"

Following her brother's steps, Miray placed her plate on the table and ran toward her grandma to say hello. "Gramma!" She shrieked excitedly and went for a hug.

However, instead of the warm treatment that her brother received, Miray was met with a harsh one.

Her grandma took a step back and scowled down at her. "Stay away, dirt." she scowled.

There was a moment of silence where everyone was too appalled to react.

Miray's eyes widened, lower lip jutting out and beginning to wobble. She felt crushed and humiliated and wanted to run away. She couldn't stand being yelled at in front of everyone.

Why did her father and his family hate her so much? It must be her fault; they loved Noah and her brothers but not her... Never her. Why?

Noticing how harsh her words were and observing everyone's shocked reaction, Karen cleared her throat and tried to defend herself, "I mean, your hands are dirty; I'm wearing white, so..." she justified.

Noah was the first to react, he took a step back and looked at Miray, and his heart broke at the sight of his younger sister's eyes brimming with tears, "Her hands are not dirty," He defended weakly.

The boys were fuming, "MIRAY, C'MERE," Vince yelled.

And as if she was waiting for someone to call her, Miray immediately ran to her brother and buried her face in his chest.

Vince's heart shattered, he lowered his face to her ear and whispered, "Don't cry, baby, not now, okay?". He knew he was being harsh by preventing her from crying, but he wanted to teach his sister something.

Miray nodded weakly; she clenched her fist and bit her lips hard, trying her best to prevent her tears.

He pulled her away slightly, "What did I tell you about going near sick and dirty people," he scolded lightly and took her hands in his, "Never do that again, okay? You might catch some serious virus!"

Playing along, Dylan fetched his pocket and pulled out a sanitizer spray. He sprayed it on the air around her, "Here, I have a sanitizer. It kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. Let's hope you didn't catch the 0.01% virus." He said, face serious as he over-sprayed the sanitizer on her hands.

Karen's face flushed. "How dare you!" she shouted.

Katherine held her arm, "Mom, just let it go," she whispered, trying to calm her down. She could see that the brothers were furious and about to explode. Her mom shouldn't have said that in front of them.

It's not like Katherine blamed her mom for such behavior. She wouldn't care less how that kid was treated. She wouldn't care if she was run by a bus. However, she cared about her nephews and didn't want to lose them. Hence, her mom should've chosen the right time to put that vile kid in her place.

"You should ask yourself that." Vince's eyes flashed angrily, "How – freaking – dare you talk to her like that! Who the hell do you think you are?" he continued angrily, eyes flaming.

Miray was gripping his T-shirt so hard, obviously uncomfortable with the whole situation.

He hugged her, clutching her face against his chest. "You're doing great, baby," he murmured firmly, stroking her hair.

"I'm your grandmother, have some respect." She hissed.

"Then act like one." Damian snapped, sounding just as angry. He couldn't understand why his grandmom and aunt also hated Miray. Not like he excused his father for hating his daughter. But at least he had that lame excuse of losing his wife... But what about them? Why did they hate her?

Vince scoffed, "Respect is earned. It's such a waste of oxygen that you've lived all these years and didn't learn that. You should carry a plant around to replace the oxygen you waste."

Karen's eyes burned with anger, "You've gone too far; I won't stand for this," she growled.

"Then sit down," he said sarcastically.

Karen's whole body deflated at his mocking tone.

Dylan couldn't suppress his laugh; hence, he burst out laughing. Even Alex couldn't stop himself. It's not like they were happy, they just wanted to get on her nerves.

Barbara, on the other hand, was unpleasant. She thought she finally would get what she always wanted, but Arthur's kids – especially Vince – were a threat.

Last time with his father and this time with his grandmother... he was clearly a tough one. And a beautiful one too – Barbara couldn't stop herself;

Vince was irresistibly attractive. Arthur's kids were all gorgeous, but Vince was someone you could always spot right away.

Unaware that she was lusting after a teenager that she could probably give birth to, Barbara couldn't take her eyes off him.

Besides Barbara, there was someone else who looked at Vince with awe. Emily always dreamed of someone like Vince fiercely defending and loving her as he did with Miray. Why did "this Miray" get all the attention and love... Emily hated her.

"Mom, just let it go," Katherine tried again.

But Karen didn't have it, "You are spoiling that brat too much, you'll regret it," she criticized.

"Do not talk about my sister like that," Damian said through grit teeth.

Karen scoffed, "She's not your sister."

Luke's entire demeanor changed, shoulders tensing, jaw squaring. "ENOUGH!" he growled, standing, "You've crossed the line."

Karen was taken aback; she nervously touched her hair, "I-"

Katherine interrupted, she knew her mom had crossed the line, "Let's just drop this, okay? There's no need to quarrel; it's already hot," she said, trying to lighten up the mood. She held her mom's arm and led her to the patio, "Let's just sit down and enjoy the day, shall we?" She pleaded, looking over at Luke, Damian, then fixed her gaze on Vince.

Vince rolled his eyes, "Crazy witch," he stood up, Miray straddling him. "Talk to her like that again, I dare you." he looked down at his grandmother, eyes and face stern, "I don't want you to come near her ever again, do you hear me?"  then he looked over at Barbara. "I hope you have learned something from today, Miray is a red line. If you want to live in this house, you should understand that," he added in a much lower and calmer voice and then left.

He didn't care about her response; he knew she got his message.
