Fable POV

It's been a few days since my little yellow brib disappeared.. Now it's just me Figment and our little purple joy...

It's kind of sad, really. I cant even protect my own children... Out of the total 4 eggs I had started out with, now I only have one.. I'm such a failure... Why couldn't I of ended up like the others.. Why does Figment care so much for me now....

..I don't understand....

Figment POV

For a while Fable has just seemed so depressed.. I suppose I can see why... Only 1 of his four chicks had survived, and no telling if this last one will..

I just hope nothing happens to any of us.. But It's not off the list.. yet.

Next time I will have to be more careful. And I know exactly how to do it.

Some sacrifices are worth the trouble.

Exemplum POV

I was floating around the surface of the water because I still feel horrible. I feel like my days are becoming numbered. Oh wait, they are. They have been since the day I opened my sockets. Even then, with my younger, stupider self, I knew I wouldn't last forever. 'Guess it figures. But those two hunts from the beginning of the year would probably be the last hunts I would have for a while. I just don't feel that hungry anymore.

I haven't seen Figment around that much anymore, and I'm starting to wonder if something had happened to him. He's older than me, so the only scary thing about him would be his age–!

I continued scanning the area, that's when I saw a skeleton-bird, it looked like that yellow bird Figment had captured a while back, but with more plain clothing and purple wings.

I followed it, until it came to a little clearing where there was a small beach-side.

It stopped mid-way over and didnt seem to move much at all. I decided to take a look for myself.

I looked over to see Figment and that same yellow bird.
