-𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬'𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐯-𝐍𝐚'𝐯𝐢 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦-

Night had taken over and the helicopter was long gone. Creatures chittered into the night air, only making Jake even more paranoid.

He held a small container of matches in his mouth and took off his first layer of clothing, wrapping it around the tree branch he had carved. He began soaking it in sap which he found on the trees.

He was being stalked by more than just the two of us.

As soon as he ignited the spear which lit up the forest, making Neytiri and I wince at the bright light, he discovered the pack of Viperwolves snarling around him.

They were black dog-like creatures that had a hyena-like laugh.

They hissed and snarled at the light, while Jake waved it back and forth in front of them, barely keeping them at bay.

"He's going to die. I must help him." I demanded quickly reading my bow.

I felt torn between the creatures and Jake's life, but I'd kill only if necessary.

"We cannot interfere. If it's to be the way he dies, then he shall die." Neytiri hissed, I gave her a look.

The creatures got closer and closer, following Jake as he backed away. They climbed the trees and had fully surrounded him.

Jake tried his best to cover himself from every angle but it was impossible, as it always left somewhere around him defenseless.

He grunted as he swung the branch again, nearly igniting the trees around him.

"If we do nothing, this buffoon will set the entire forest on fire. He is the will of Eywa and I will do what I must to save him. Mother forgive me for what I'm about to do." I prayed and began to run.

"𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢!" Neytiri hissed, reaching for my arm, but I was too quick. She groaned, annoyed.

"I don't have all goddamn night. Come on!" Jake yelled. "Come on!"

Some of the Viperwolves jumped from the trees, lunging for him. Jake smacked the first one with the end of the stick, making the creature yelp out in pain.

I felt the sting in my very soul and cringed, but kept running through the trees to make it down to him.

Another made a lunge for him, but Jake stabbed it with the end of the spear that he had made sharp. Causing the Viperwolf to cry out and whimper.

It moved away from Jake, with the spear still stuck in it's side. Tears filled my eyes feeling the suffering of the creature and anger took over.

I knew then, that what I was about to do was more than save his life. Not only would it do the work of Eywa, but it would put an end to the suffering of these creatures.

One Viperwolf snarled at Jake and jumped on him just as he took out his knife from his pocket.

The two fell to the ground and Jake struggled with the creature. He managed to slice at it's neck and tossed it away to suffer.

More of the wolves charged attacking Jake and I jumped out from the tree line, bow and arrow ready.

I aimed and let my arrow fly, hitting the one Jake was struggling with in the heart allowing it a quick death. It quickly seized from snapping at his face any longer.

Jake looked up unsure of what had just happened, tossing the creature off him, only to discover the arrow.

He quickly looked around and noticed me. I could tell it relieved him that I was protecting him. "Alexis?!" Jake laughed, happy to see me.

I swung around my bow, to knock away the Viperwolves, hoping to not have to kill any more of them. I grunted as one charged at me from the dark forest and knocked into my chest.

The creature knocked us backwards, down a slight knoll on the ground.

Jake gasped and watched weary of wether to help or stay put. But as we tumbled, I quickly managed to get on top of the Viperwolf and stabbed it over and over with the dagger I pulled from Jake.

Tears filled my eyes as I did so.

I climbed up off the dead creature, just as Neytiri jumped down from her post and too began fighting off the Viperwolves.

We both were swinging at them along side each other with our bows as not to kill anymore. Neytiri and I hissed, baring our teeth as the creatures ran away.

When the danger was clear I turned around and covered my eyes slightly to block away the unnatural firelight that glowed on the ground.

Jake stood to his feet, armed with his dagger, ready to take on Neytiri if need be. Neytiri watched him curiously for a moment, and he just watched her.

Neytiri quickly reminded myself the buffoon he was and simply walked away from him. Neytiri immediately grabbed ahold of the fire stick. I smirked at them.

"Alexis! I'm so happy you're back" I chuckled as Jake hugged me.

"𝐀𝐡, 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐰𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬. 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬" Neytiri insulted looking around for someplace to put the spear after removing it from the creature.

(Ah, stupid Sky People. Careless. Reckless)

That was what really got my attention as it whimpered in pain.

"Hey, wait! Don't!" Jake called out as she threw it, making the light go out in the small body of water next to us. Jake chuckled angrily, throwing his arms up. "Great." I chuckled at him.

I could hear the whimpering of the few Viperwolves and felt their suffering, quickly getting to work to release them.

All while Neytiri had dealt with the torch. I sighed and bent down next to the creature, shushing it gently, pulling out a dagger.

"𝐎𝐞 𝐤𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐲𝐧𝐠𝐚, 𝐭𝐬𝐦𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐞 𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐨. 𝐍𝐠𝐚 𝐥𝐮 𝐤𝐚𝐰𝐤𝐱𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐋𝐮 𝐡𝐮 𝐄𝐲𝐰𝐚 𝐬𝐞̈𝐭" I bowed my head, feeling free from the unneeded pain and suffering.

(I see you, brother and I thank you. You are free to be with Ewya now)

Neytiri joined my side and rested her hand on the creatures eyes, closing them.

Jake paid no mind to us as he went into the pool of water for the Spear, picking it up and sighing at the fact that there was no way it was going to re-light it now.

When he lifted his head he began to see what he failed to before.

Seeing the luminescence from the plant life all around him. Everything glowed in the darkness, making it seem not so dark. How had he not seen that before? It was a beautiful sight to be seen.

Neytiri and I were busy checking all the dead or suffering animals and making sure they were at peace.

Removing arrows, and putting them out of their misery.

"𝐏𝐞𝐮 𝐤𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐢 𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐢 𝐟𝐚 𝐟𝐢̀'𝐮 𝐬𝐤𝐱𝐚𝐰𝐧𝐠, 𝐬𝐞̈𝐭?" Neytiri asked annoyed as we sent the last one to be at peace with Eywa.

(What do we do with this Moron, now?)

"𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐠, 𝐨𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐤𝐱𝐮𝐤𝐞" I said, smiling at him.

(Well, I suppose he's safe)

"𝐀𝐲𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐲𝐥𝐮 𝐬𝐤𝐱𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐩 𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐦 𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐤𝐮, 𝐞𝐨 𝐭𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐫𝐫 𝐟𝐮 𝐓𝐬𝐮'𝐭𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐩𝐞 𝐚̈ 𝐭𝐢̀𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐰𝐤𝐫𝐫 𝐦𝐞" I nodded at her, Neytiri took one last look at Jake.

(We should probably get home, before it becomes to late or Tsu'tey will send a hunting party after me)

"𝐎𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 '𝐢̀'𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐦'𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐡𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐤𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠... 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐝" I sighed, Neytiri chuckled at me.

(I will stay and make sure he does not do anything... stupid)

"𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢 𝐦𝐞" (I'll have to tell him about me)

I went to talk, but was quickly interrupted as Jake began to speak.

"Look, I know you probably don't understand this, but uhm..." He bent down on his knees as he spoke. Neytiri ignored his words, I tried not to laugh.

"But thank you. Thank you." Jake repeated quietly.

Neytiri quickly turned and looked at him and sighed. "That was pretty impressive, what you did when you first came out." Jake chuckled as he met Neytiri's narrowed eyes.

"I would have been screwed if you hadn't come along. Either of you. It was..."

Neytiri nudged my arm gently and we looked at each other rolling our eyes, I chuckled. Neytiri, not wanting to hear any more of his blabbering she began to walk away from Jake.

Specially not wanting to listen to his thankful speech.

Jake stopped talking realizing that Neytiri wasn't listening and was walking away. He watched her for a moment, but quickly got up to follow. "Simp" I said, following them.

"Hey, wait a second. Hey, where are you going?" Jake called out after Neytiri.

"Wait up! Just... Hey, slow down." Jake jumped forward and tried to grab ahold of her arm. "Look, wait up I just wanted to say thanks for killing those things." His hand barely brushed against her.

I could see her eyes, feeling insane sparks. Like when I touched Jasper's hand. I looked down, sighing.

The shock alone, plus him touching her in general made her turn around and swing her bow, smacking him across the face with it. I cringed slightly, laughing at him.

Jake grunted, falling to the ground.

"Damn!" He hissed, feeling his cheek.

Neytiri walked over him, with the end of her bow pointed down towards him.

"Don't thank. You don't thank us for this." She shook her head, and narrowed her eyes, like she was staring into his soul. "This was very sad. Very sad only." "Very sad" I said, looking at Jake.

"Okay." Jake put up his hand in defense. "Okay. I'm sorry. Whatever I did, I am sorry."

Neytiri rolled her eyes and moved away. She frowned and walked towards Jake while he was still on the ground.

"All this is your fault. They did not need to die." Neytiri scoffed.

"My fault?" Jake scoffed back. "They attacked me. How am I the bad guy?"

"Your fault!" Neytiri and I exclaimed together, pushing our bows at him. Jake backed away as well as he could being on the ground.

"Ey! Whoa!" Jake said holding his hand out to protect himself.

"Your fault." Neytiri hissed.

"Easy, easy. Shh."

"You're like a baby. Making noise, don't know what to do." Neytiri insulted him, and Jake pushed her bow away. Jake glared at me as I was laughing at him. "What? It's true, You act like a baby"

"Hey, shh. Fine. Fine." He said as he got up from the ground slowly.

"If you  love your little forest friends, why not just let them kill my ass? What's the thinking?" Jake asked, making the both of us stiffen and look at him slightly confused.

"Why save you?" Neytiri asked quietly, making sure that was what he wanted to know.

"Yeah. Yeah, why did you save me?" Jake asked, looking into Neytiri's eyes once again.

"Y-You have a strong heart." Neytiri stated softly. "No fear."

"But stupid! Ignorant like a child! Come." Neytiri pulled on my arm after insulting him again. She quickly walked off.

Jake smirked to himself, thinking about Neytiri as she was walking away from us. Only to quickly realize she was walking away again.

Jake looked at me, I sighed, chuckling, pulling him with me.

"Well, if I'm like a child, then, uh, maybe. Look, maybe you should teach me." Jake said using the moment he felt to his advantage.

"Sky People cannot learn, as you do not see." Neytiri explained with the roll of her eyes and kept walking.

"Well, then teach me how to see." Jake insisted.

"No one can teach you how to see." Neytiri scoffed.

"Whoa." Jake came to a quick stop seeing that he was on a connecting tree trunk high above the ground below.

He weighed his options to turn around and go back, but his stubbornness said otherwise. Neytiri and I in front of him walking away with ease, Nertiri scoffed, walking as I helped him.

"Look, come on, can't we just talk? Maybe, you and me? Say, like where did you learn to speak English? Dr. Augustine's school? Ugh, whoa!"

Jake asked and nearly tripped as his spear got caught in the vines of the tree. His body swiveled back and forth like he was going to teeter off the edge.

I saw him struggle, I quickly swung around, grabbing a hold of him and pulling him upward.

"Don't fall stupid" I chuckled.

Neytiri made it to the edge of the tree and watched curiously.  "See? Like a baby." I scoffed, chuckling. Jake gave me a look.

"I swear, if I don't stay Neytiri, he will die." I explained, chuckling and rolling my eyes stepping away from him.

Neytiri rolled her own eyes and began to walk away, leaving the two of us alone. I knew she was likely going home and she'd be telling Tsu'tey I was here.

Jake looked between the two of us, seeing the retreating figure of Neytiri. "Well..." Jake chuckles softly. "That went great" I sighed, looking where Neytiri went.

"You think?" Jake said, glaring at me, chuckled. I rolled my eyes at him.

I saw Neytiri watching us, also I felt the familiar presence of Eywa around me.

I quickly looked into the sky to see hundreds of Seedling's floating towards us.

I closed my eyes and breathed in and out deeply. Hearing the whispers of the All Mother.

Jake turned to see what i had been looking at, seeing the small spirit like creatures beginning to surround him. When I opened my eyes, I saw Jake swat at one.

"Don't do that stupid!" I hissed reaching out and holding his hand down. He didn't fight my hold, but as more came down he reached out with the other hand and swatted at another one.

"Jake No! Don't do that!" I said sharply, holding onto his arm tighter. "Dumb"

"𝐀𝐭𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚'" Neytiri whispers as she put her hand on my shoulder.

Neytiri and I watched in amazement as the seedling's surrounded him. Much like they had done for Grace that day, but one was all she received.

This was hundreds.

A very different sign from Eywa. Jake raised his arms, as I let go of him and backed away, allowing the spirit's to land on him gently.

"W-what? What are they?" Jake asked curiously, keeping very still and while I marveling at the sight before me.

"Seeds of the Sacred Tree. Very pure spirits." I informed him quietly still in awe.

"Uh-huh." Jake said, not willing to move even his mouth. He chuckled slightly as Neytiri began to look at him, inspecting him very closely. The spirits lifted from his body.

"What was that all about?" Jake asked.

"I will always do your will, Eywa. Come." I said simply. Jake didn't move so, I grabbed his hand and pulled. "Come on Jake."

"Where are we going?" Jake called out after me. Neytiri took off after us.

I ran ahead and down another path leading him towards home. Jake accidentally touched one of the glowing mushrooms on our way by, making it glow even more.

He was so intrigued by the plant and continued to hit more of them as he wondered down the path after me and Neytiri.

I stepped across a small brook over mossy covered stones that illuminated as my bare feet touched them.

I turned to see Jake playing with the mushrooms. I smiled.

"Come on Jake." I called out again, chuckling as Jake immediately turned towards me.

The two of us began moving quickly through the forest and we were getting closer to Home Tree. Jake couldn't shake the feelings Neytiri was giving him already, and he didn't even know her name.

"What's your name?" Jake called out.

The warriors heard his voice, gaining their attention, prompting one to throw a rope at Jake's feet.

"Shit!" Jake exclaimed as the rope tripped him up, making him fall off the tree and to the ground below. I skid to a stop and quickly ran back towards him.

Jake undid the ropes from his feet and pulled out his dagger as warriors rode in on their direhorses.

He tried to run to make an escape, but was quickly met with pointed bow and arrows of warriors on the ground level. The direhorses surrounded him, and the people riding them aimed their bows.

Jake chuckled nervously and dropped the dagger from his hands and raised them, praying he wouldn't die.

I leapt over the tree and down into the circle where Jake was surrounded and growled at them all.

"𝐌𝐚𝐰𝐞𝐲 𝐍𝐚'𝐯𝐢, 𝐌𝐚𝐰𝐞𝐲" I assured them sternly. Everyone was happy to see me.

(Calm people, calm)

Tsu'tey climbed off from his direhorse and walked quickly towards Jake. I ran forward and jumped in front of him, placing my hands on Tsu'tey's chest.

"𝐍𝐚𝐰𝐦 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐧𝐢̀𝐦𝐮𝐧 𝐓𝐬𝐮'𝐭𝐞𝐲. 𝐏𝐞𝐮 𝐥𝐮 𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠?" I asked sternly, holding him back and looking up into his eyes. His hands reached up and grabbed mine.

(Nice seeing you again Tsu'tey. What are you doing?)

"𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐋𝐮 𝐯𝐫𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐥𝐮 𝐤𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐢̀ 𝐟𝐢̀𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞" Tsu'tey spat at Jake, and looked at me calmly. I pushed him backwards gently and gestured to Jake.

(These demons are forbidden here)

"𝐓𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚̈ 𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐚 𝐄𝐲𝐰𝐚. 𝐅𝐢̀𝐤𝐞𝐦 𝐋𝐮 𝐚̈ 𝐭𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐬𝐚𝐡𝐢̀𝐤" Neytiri explained, appearing, my eyes narrowed. Tsu'tey looked at Neytiri and then at Jake.

(There has been a sign from Eywa. This is a matter for the Tsahik)

"𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐦" He huffed and climbed back aboard his Direhorse. I looked back at Jake, giving him a sympathetic look. "Alexis, What's going on?" Jake asked, concerned. He was surrounded once again.

(Bring him)

"𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢, come." Tsu'tey commanded, reaching a hand down towards me. "𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢?" Jake looked at me confused.

"I'll explain later" I sighed and grabbed ahold, allowing Tsu'tey to pull me onboard with him, wrapping my hands gently around his waist.

"Wait Alexis!" Jake called out after me. "𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐰!" Tsu'tey commanded.

(Let's go!)

"𝐅𝐲𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚̈𝐥𝐢?" Tsu'tey asked me, and I smile at him. "𝐈'𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐚𝐦. 𝐎𝐞𝐲𝐚̈ 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐱𝐚 𝐬𝐢 𝐟𝐭𝐢̀𝐫 𝐦𝐞" I sighed, hugging him from behind.

(How have you been Marali?) (I've been okay. My mate left me)

I knew Tsu'tey wanted to ask questions but he didn't. "𝐊𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐢 𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚̈ 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐱𝐚 𝐬𝐢?" I sighed, changing the topic, not wanting to talk about Jasper.

(Do you have a mate?)

Tsu'tey sighed, glancing back at me. "𝐈'𝐦 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢̀" Tsu'tey told me, I chuckled, nodded against his back, knowing Neytiri was not happy about that.

"𝐖𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐢̀𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞"

(I'm betrothed to Neytiri) (We're here)
